Katie and Travis: Young Love?
IndianPaintbrush replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
I think it's great that they want to wait before having kids. I still think she'll have an "announcement" within about 2-3 months! So basically they met after he slid into her DMs...they were never alone before marriage, and they have very different backgrounds and personalities. I wish them luck because they're gonna need it. I'm glad Kelly insisted that Katie find another wedding dress. She absolutely deserved something better after that FL dress shop screwed her over. It really worked out in the end. -
I think Tommy can be a sweetheart when he's in the right mood, but he can also be a cruel and vicious jerkwad, and that kind of behavior is usually fueled by alcohol. He's definitely a man of contradictions. The scene where he argues with his penis about whether he should settle down with Pamela rang very true. He wanted a fairytale romance and domestic bliss, but he wasn't gonna sacrifice any of his rock-star partying ways.

I'm enjoying this even though the nudity is really over the top. I thought they did a good job of showing how weird things must have been for Pam and Tommy once the alcohol and ecstasy wore off. Yes, Pam is much smarter than she appears. And while Tommy was absolutely a piece of shit, he also had a charisma that this actor isn't quite capturing. I had no idea there was an elaborate scheme to steal Tommy's entire safe! I was always under the impression that Tommy left the tape lying around somewhere.

Katie and Travis: Young Love?
IndianPaintbrush replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
I think attacking each other with belts is just plain bizarre. I've been skeptical of abuse allegations in the Clark family, but this really doesn't look good. -
Wow, how very "pro-choice" of Tori and Zach. 🙄 If I were a parent at Jackson's school, it would be my choice that my kids stay far, far away from him and his maskless family. ETA: Oh boy, she posted a nasty, passive-aggressive response video when she started losing followers. Keep digging that hole, Tori.

Bringing Up Bates In The Media
IndianPaintbrush replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
Interesting. Some people are wondering why they didn't shut down production immediately after the George Floyd comment, but I'm sure it took some time to reach senior execs. I still think there could be something we don't know about, but for now it looks like UPTv was just sick of all the Bates' baggage. -
Katie and Travis: Young Love?
IndianPaintbrush replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
I feel like I understand Travis' personality a little better. They still come off like a high school couple with nothing in common. These two have a tough road ahead of them. I think Katie's homesickness is only going to get stronger, and I don't think having a baby will fill the hole. -

Michaella and Brandon: He Writes Fairy Tales
IndianPaintbrush replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
I don't buy that she only went to nursing school so she could take care of her grandparents. I think she envisioned a cushy nursing job where she only worked around babies, and only during certain hours. God forbid Brandon should have to make his own dinner. -

Erin and Chad: Fifty Shades of Pink
IndianPaintbrush replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
The way Erin says the word "and" like "eeee-and" drives me batty. She over enunciates a lot of vowels. Crazy as it seems, I can believe that Erin and Chad never really "argue." I can see them disagreeing over paint colors or something like that, but I think Erin's view would win out fairly easily. It helps that Chad is incredibly laid back; I doubt he has strong opinions on the same things Erin cares about. They seem to do a good job of compromising when necessary. For example, when picking baby names, Erin said she prefers uncommon baby names while Chad prefers traditional ones. So she makes a short list of her favorites and Chad picks the one that is least crazy. 😉 -
I have no idea why Terri was hiding her hair! I assumed she had alopecia or some terrible scalp problem, but her hair was simply fine and thin. She looked SO much better a year later. Seemed like she had calmed down and become a better listener too. The only other episode I've watched so far is episode 3, the one featuring Cowboy Jon Snow. That guy must really want his ex-girlfriend back, because he seemed pretty uncomfortable with the whole thing. The etiquette lessons were a success but I don't think he'll be wearing any of those clothes Tan chose for him.

What is it with the terrible wigs on this show? The one the female Sackler wore was especially bad. Philippa Soo's character may have seemed exaggerated, but I have no doubt there are people in the pharmaceutical sales industry that are exactly like her. The greed, the phony sales tactics, the frat party atmosphere...it all seems pretty accurate to me.

Erin and Chad: Fifty Shades of Pink
IndianPaintbrush replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
Erin wants to grow her YouTube channel, but she also wants her social media to be very faith and family-focused. My guess is that her subscribers are more interested in how she does her makeup than in how she reads the Bible, so she's compromising a little bit. -
Fundy Weddings: All of the Cringe, None of the Booze
IndianPaintbrush replied to a topic in Counting On
Agreed - wish Katie had gone with a CC cream or tinted moisturizer instead. I've never liked the look of full-coverage foundation. Erin posted a recent makeup tutorial. This is still a lot more product than I would use on a daily basis, but it's a bit more natural than Carlin or Katie. Topic: despite the fit issues, Katie has worn my favorite wedding dress so far. It's just so classic and timeless. I'm super curious what Tiffypics will choose. -
Michaella and Brandon: He Writes Fairy Tales
IndianPaintbrush replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
I think Michael and Brandon would make great parents to any child who needed a home, and I really hope they're not still using the Gothard excuse to avoid it. An adoptee is about to marry into the family; surely they can see it's not something to fear. I hope they are at least talking about it in private, because boy, Michael really doesn't sound well. -
Jill, Derick & the Kids: Moving On!!
IndianPaintbrush replied to Chris Knight's topic in Counting On
The media attention had to have been a factor for some folks. It's valid not to want your photograph taken at a high-profile trial, and there are other ways to show support for Anna - such as babysitting her kids. 🙄 -
Erin and Chad: Fifty Shades of Pink
IndianPaintbrush replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
I have to give Erin credit - there's no way my house would look that good with 4 little kids. Raising up the sofas is a clever storage solution. The kids probably don't mind sharing one room, but that will likely change, and they can't have Carson the Wonder Boy sharing a room with 4 girls. The biggest aggros for me would be only one bathroom and the tiny kitchen/dining/laundry room. -
Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!
IndianPaintbrush replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
These two are ridiculous - dropping icing straight from the packet into Layla's mouth?!? Babies raising babies. I can only hope that once baby #2 comes, they will calm down and start acting like grown parents. -
The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
IndianPaintbrush replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
This whole situation is infuriating. I get that someone needs to be held legally accountable, but it should be the PARENTS. Do we have confirmation that DHS is investigating? Those poor kids. A father in prison and a neglectful idiot mother.
