The boys seem to sleep in jeans and polos/t's. Like I said, I can't blame them. There's a lot of strangers about, cameras, cell phones, no privacy, constant noise, weirdly supervised unsupervision, etc. It's actually a pretty good policy. Otherwise we'd have seen 'Jessa in Lingere!' instagram posts by some creep Jim Bob had over for home church. What I CAN hate on is the fact that that house isn't really set up to be a home at all, no privacy, no calm, no order, just lots of random people and noise, all the time. Maybe I'm biased, but I've been in houses of big families, lots of kids, that weren't so chaotic.

Virtually everything. And these are kids that are conditioned from birth to tell their parents literally every thought in their head. Up to and including detailed sexual thoughts. If life was a high school movie, Jill was the mousey sophmore who went out of her way to suck up to the varsity cheerleader (Miechelle), but never got asked to sit at the cool kids table.

Or that you're married when you get a license, not when the fundie preacher says you my now frontal hug the bride.

The tattling really backfired for Jill. She didn't get her mother's love, and she lost her siblings trust.

Between tv cameras and an ever present slew of guests a-fellowshippin', I can't really hate on the Duggars for having this rule.

I think implicit in all these couples is a 'ministry mindset' ie shilling out for their brand of fundies for all to see. The need a nice balanced 'look' (media profile) for that.

I remember when they still claimed to make their own laundry detergent, then boxes of Tide started appearing above the washers. I'm made their style of detergent before - it doesn't work a $1 box of Sun detergent if more economical and far superior. I just realized maybe Grandma says it's 80 loads just so she can get some peace. Maybe she only washed like 30 loads a week, but tells Michelle it's almost 3 times that. Since Michelle will instinctively flee an environment where she has to work, Granada is free of her presence, and looks like a Martyr.

Off season they seem to spoil a lot of future episodes on social media. It's how everyone stays 6 moths ahead of the show.

I don't think Gothard plans for nervous breakdowns. Michelle's coasted for the last 12 kids. I think Gill and Kelly are better gothard-ish parents. Not that I really approve of them, but they're better at it.
