It's been awhile since I posted, the Cross-Over sorta burnt me on Flarrowverse and posting.... but I know people here enjoy Susanna Thompson... I just finished watching the s2 premiere of Timeless and she was in the entire episode. It looks like she might be in more episodes, as her role is becoming more central to over-arcing plot/backstory. I really enjoy the show and if you like ST, I think it's definitely worth trying the show out. It makes time travel and intrigue/conspiracy fun! Plus ST as a loving but slightly devious Mom is always a nice perk.

That's reassuring. I've seen some of their CGI reincarnations and I don't want that for Leia, although I do really hope we get a good goodbye. I agree AD was acting whiny on purpose. I just find that type of character annoying and non-compelling. I would have been happier if they had found another way to tell his journey. Unlike other actors, I don't think AD has that special factor that makes his whiny emo-ness watchable and appealing. Some actors can pull it off, AD cannot even if it was supposed to his character. I agree. I do think going in with little expectations of character, plot & theories is the best. I mean I've been watching Star Wars since I was a kid and consider myself a fan, but I am definitely not part of the diehard fandom. I can imagine that people might be disappointed with aspects of the film if they feel heavily invested in the franchise. While I think it was an amazing movie there are certainly evident flaws noticeable. It is not a perfect film. And I truly believe one can enjoy the film immensely and still be critical. And any franchise that has as many decades of history, story and fans is certainly more prone to criticism from fans and non-fans. Overall though I think the film was an enjoyable experience.

I was wondering why it was not on. :( I almost wish there was a way they could go back and edit him out. I mean they must have enough footage of contestants and interviews. Unless they are giving baking advice/tips the hosts/judges' comments are the least important part of the show. We would miss some judge's commentary, but you could have a disclaimer during show that parts were edited out. In some ways it might bring more attention to the problem. Sort of like the box of Mario Batali pasta that was smashed and punched in the grocery store last night. I miss when Nia Vardalos & Ian Gomez did it. I felt like they at least brought personality. Although nobody can replace Mary Berry.

I saw this title quickly and thought KC was going to be in a Speilberg production.... and I was like WOW what an upgrade - didn't see that coming! Of course, then reality set itself right and I realized it was just some random movie with other ex-tv low-listers.

The Last Jedi is AMAZING!!! Seriously you do go through every emotion. It was also a lot more humorous than recent Star Wars. I feel like it captured the essence of the original first 3 movies. I went with a friend who had never seen Star Wars and she thought it was fabulous. I think it had something in there for everyone. While I do think all the actors are great. I did find Adam Driver whiny at times, but perhaps that is just the Adolescent Anakin coming out in him. I thought the same thing about Hayden Christensen. Or maybe its a middle movie thing. And I do love both the Porgs! Although I must admit I am still more partial to the Ewoks. The Ice Foxes were gorgeous. On another note, I still love R2D2. But BB-8 is really stealing my heart in every scene. Now I want my own droid. :) I do truly wonder though how Carrie Fisher's real life death will impact the next movie, I did miss Han Solo greatly. I love how Rey was not over it either.

I do agree that BTS casting departures or reductions have contributed to the Noobs/Masks problems. Because perhaps it was supposed to be Roy & Thea that were head of the new team. However, I do think the writers & TPTB failed on multiple levels to integrate or develop the newer characters starting with Curtis. So while I can understand that perhaps the plans they laid in place with Roy and Thea fell apart for reasons out of their control. The failure of Noobs/masks is completely within their control and their responsibility. The Arrow writers & TPTB know exactly how many episodes they are given per season to write a quality story arc with quality character development. They have failed to achieve that for multiple characters and for multiple seasons. The writers consistently choose to take short cuts and focus more on sparkle than substance. It's evident that the show's definition of quality is not based in or concerned with good characters or character development. The show detoured from Character driven storytelling in s3, it became a permanent change in s4 and has only worsened over the last 2 seasons. It's a shame, because I think the show has a lot of potential that is squandered for cheap and unfulfilling plots.

Thanks all for the Hallmark recommendation of "9 Lives of Christmas". It was rather adorable and I actually enjoyed BR as a romantic lead! I'm not a cat person, I'm more of a dog person - but this one made the cats so cute. I mean it was definitely cheesy with a lot of plot holes, but it was an enjoyable holiday diversion. It was sorta an accidental Flarrowverse/Hallmark fusion because then I stumbled onto a random one with Carly Pope that I had to skip too many reporter flashbacks. But then I found Katrina Law's "Snow Bride" and that was fabulous as a Holiday Hallmark Movie! She was so great, I definitely saw a different side of her acting ability. I definitely recommend it.

Tomorrow Today: Media & Behind The Scenes Of LOT

It still sucks, and imo is crappy storytelling. I don't care who is still getting their full salary or precedence set in other shows for returning/recurring actors. Are you really telling me that there is not enough room on the Waverider for Jax & Snart? Because that is something I just can't believe. The writers chose the easy way out and cut Jax from the storyline. -

This was sort of how I felt when Stein died. People told me that it was part of typical TV storytelling, but I think it sucks that they set us up for 7 episodes just to take Jax away too. -

Sara is the name that can not be named on Arrow. -
I didn't watch most of the crossover, so I don't have enough evidence to say one way or the other whether they were glorified or not. But I fear there was not enough of them being seen as bad or their ideology as horrible and wrong. I was talking about it more in generalities. I think we want the same thing, so I'm just going to drop this. I'm glad that you were happy with the outcome and plot of the crossover. Maybe it will have some positive impact.

She'll probably just be dead so that the Arrow writers don't have to bother writing in a divorce subplot to make Olicity's marriage legitimate. Since MG was adamant for years that liver & Nyssa's wedding was uber legitimate and legal. Killing off the baby mama was how they got over that glitch of her existence as messy writing point/speedbump. -
Fair Point. I just fear the glorification of Nazis. Even though they got beat up in this plotline, they still had amassed great power in World X. And some people always aspire to be the bad guy. I'm not sure what the answer or solution is for the real world. I do wish entertainment was able to find a more powerful way to help stop Nazis and the ideology they promote.

I also think that Katie Cassidy has proven to not be great with group dynamics and the scene partner swapping that is the core of LoT. While I never hated her character on Arrow, I don't think she ever came close to her potential. But there were moments, especially with Quentin or even Tommy that I could see the potential of why she was hired for the gig. I just think she works in a certain type of role/cast/show and LoT is not that show. And the show honestly doesn't need a Black Siren. Honestly, I think I wouldn't mind seeing Quentin on LoT. I think he could fill in some of the generational wisdom that has been taken away by Stein's death. I doubt Arrow has found something to do with him. The only other ones I would take from Arrow would be Oliver, Felicity, and/or Diggle, and they aren't going anywhere. Arrow can definitely keep their newbies. And I can't imagine wanting anyone from Flash. I'm neutral about Constantine. I have enjoyed him time on Arrow - but I do think he possess too much comic baggage that might change the nature of the show, which I don't want. -
Thanks for the breakdown. I really only watched the final hour and monitored the response in the ratings and a little on the LoT threads. I'm glad you tell me that they managed to take a positive turn, still not sure Nazis were the best option for supervillain alter egos in light of present day tensions. I feel like perhaps they could have done the whole storyline just as you described and skipped the Nazis. But that is neither here nor there, I'm still not a fan of all consuming large crossovers, prefer smaller intimate ones. For me they are never special or big enough to be a mini-series/movie and they always take away more than they give.
