  1. I wanted Max and Chrissy to become friends.
  2. El isn’t harmless…especially not in the lab.
  3. Does anyone have thoughts about Self-Insert fic? Apparently it’s very popular in some fanfiction circles, but I …hate it. Is it just me? Am I missing how wonderful SI fic is?
  4. Rewatching and Richard Madden is fantastic.
  5. Longest villain backstory reveal ever. That is not a compliment. For a mid-season cliffhanger, meh. It empowered me to fold a lot of laundry and attack the unmatched sock basket.
  6. Cut them both! Hopper in Russia is an excuse to get the adults out of town.
  7. There was the fear of drugs brought on by Just Say No and rumors about everything being laced with PCP and I grew up in a small Midwest town. Some kids used, but damn if there weren’t a ton of us terrified by the stories of kids becoming brain dead in comas from drug laced temporary tattoos. Jonathon is a waste of screen time. I now like Argyle more.
  8. If Jonathan scenes were left on the cutting room floor, nothing would be missed and the episodes wouldn’t be so painfully long.
  9. My parents never left us at the roller rink without at least one set of parents to watch us and protect us from the obligatory pedophile at the rink looking for vulnerable kids. The parents were always there to buy us nachos and whole dill pickles. I hate to harp on it, but that roller rink scene was just 80s movie and not 80s.
  10. Eddie is a take on Eddie Van Halen with the hair just as Billy was Billy from St. Elmo’s Fire. Seeing someone die is traumatic, even if you hated that person.
  11. I always feel like this show is portraying the 80s from the POV of someone who learned about the 80s from watching TV and not from someone who actually grew up in the 80s. It’s frustrating.
  12. The roller rink scenes were…less realistic than the Upside Down. How about you go into the circle instead of nag the DJ? Everyone’s reactions were wrong and I didn’t find El believable in the scene. And then when she came out and asked the girl to apologize? Silly. It was not a good scene. Agyle’s wig is terrible. He’s like an extra from a Cheech and Chong film. Jonathan looks like he’s aged 25 years. I don’t care about his angst. Happy to see Joyce and Murray togther talking to the Faceless Man from Game of Thrones.
  13. I feel so much more for Max than I do for El. And I think Sadie Sink is KILLING it with the complicated angst. Love Steve and Robin. The dice rolling scene and basketball shot seemed to go on for about 10 minutes longer than it needed to. That was a bad editing decision.
  14. I would have liked this if it had a Dirty Dancing feel, but it was so bland.
  15. She first asked him something about how helpful he was feeling and he said something like, "Not very." I don't ding him for that at all. It's a competition and helping your competitors seems counter-intuitive to winning. I don't mind it when competitors compete as long as they aren't sabotaging other competitors (Hi there, pea puree).
  16. With the editing, I can always see it in retrospect, but I’ve never been able to accurately call the winner from editing beforehand. However, I could see DeMarr on his way out the door. I like him a lot, but I do think he needs to mature as a chef. He made a lot of basic mistakes, and then as mentioned above, was unable to pivot to fix it. Sarah dropped her dish on the floor, couldn’t make the ice cream maker work and pivoted to the nitro. During Judge’s Table, she was certain they hated it and when asked about it, responded with excuses about why it was terrible. Only it wasn’t. They loved it, but they just wanted it less melty. The win seemed to be between Sarah and Evelyn. I like Sarah a lot. It wasn’t just Tom judging her, but other guest judges as well, including the final…five? I think. When they had to choose between Jae’s dish and Sarah’s, every single one chose Sarah’s as the better dish. It wasn’t even close. I’m gonna say it. I’m just gonna say it. Buddha’s comment about more tricks up his sleeve felt so Blaise-like that I shuddered. I have loved Buddha and want his food, but I don’t want a dozen food gimmicks in the final meal. I just don’t. Evelyn seems like a great human and I love that she is making elevated Mexican food.
  17. Thrilled with the final 3.
  18. It's on Kindle Unlimited.
  19. Most people are basing their opinions on clips of testimony, rather than the full package. Oh No They Didn’t has someone watching and summarizing the entire thing, and doing some fact checking along the way. https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/tag/amber heard
  20. I’m not saying that’s not horrible, but people who are fine with his poor treatment of women are appalled by his treatment of animals. As if women have less inherent value or are somehow deserving of poor treatment. I’m not okay with that mindset.
  21. I don't blame him for his brother's actions. I do blame him for promoting his brother.
  22. Can we add in dysentery somewhere with that? Because I think that would be fitting.
  23. Then there is his brother... Why are people more offended about the way he treats a cat than the way he treats women? Sorry, but I can forgive someone for rehoming a pet. I cannot forgive him for flashing his dick.
  24. I am so fucking sick of Roman Polanski apologists. He raped a 13 year old. He can fall in a hole and die.
