  1. Jill Jill Jill... (I'm late, I know... but wow ?)
  2. Oh, Marigold, how I had missed your snark (especially on this thread :D ).
  3. Not that I disagree with what you wrote, but Jill most likely isn't really asking for tips. Asking questions like that is a classic way of trying to generate more traffic/activity on one's social media account. In some instances (like sponsored posts), the more likes and comments a post gets, the more money the person will receive (I am not 100% familiar with how it works, but that's the gist).
  4. I'm always fascinated by discussions on middle names since it's not a thing in my culture - I'm sure some people do give their child a middle name, but it seems to be the exception rather than the norm. And yes, we do just fine :D I like my name (Amélie). Unfortunately it gets butchered both by anglohones (''Ah-may-lee'' does not compute) and francophones (I usually get called Émilie - my mom blames the immensely popular 90s TV series ''Les Filles de Caleb'' for that). I think that's partly why I personally try to make a conscious effort to get/pronounce someone's name right (or as well as I can), especially if it's unusual to my ears.
  5. If that is her picture (most probably), then this is yet another food photography fail. She really has no clue.
  6. The discussion on maternal mortality in the US reminded me of this article I read some time ago. Very interesting, but also quite alarming and infuriating - not to mention incredibly sad. It broke my heart. https://www.npr.org/2017/05/12/527806002/focus-on-infants-during-childbirth-leaves-u-s-moms-in-danger To get back on topic - I like the name they chose. Classic yet not too common (just like my name :D ). I wasn't expecting anything weird or overly religious from those two anyway.
  7. LOL! Loved it XD Also, I love Abbie's sister's wedding dress! Very pretty and elegant. I like its simplicity.
  8. That is so important indeed. And congratulations!!
  9. Well, save me an express pass to hell but damn... Look at that gene pool.
  10. The Canadian version also has little to no drama, from what I've seen anyway (I've watched episodes here and there from seasons 1 and 2). Very refreshing. What struck me the most is how the gowns are filmed, both in the dressing room and in front of the entourage: we get to actually see them! Love that. Sounds silly, but seriously. Compare this with the Kleinfeld version as it is now, with the excessive focus on the brides' backstories and the constant camera pans on the ridiculous antics of the entourages... Ugh :X
  11. I was puzzled at first by Cathy speaking of ''these seven'' in her caption. Had forgotten Deena is pregnant. Don't want to open a can of worms but I have to say I'm weirded out by Cathy referring to them as a group of seven, not six.
  12. I definitely agree with this (Jenna Marbles comes to mind), but this is the Dullards we're talking about so yeah... hard pass.
  13. Wonder why Jeremy wrote 1574 (regarding Calvin's Institutes) when it says 1562 on the spine... (According to Wikipedia, this book was first published - in Latin - in 1536. There have been many subsequent editions in several languages; however I did not find anything pertaining to the years 1562 or 1574. Not that the information on Wikipedia is always correct or complete, of course, but now I am intrigued.)
  14. LOL! You people are killing me this morning ??? Thanks for the laughs :D
  15. I literally laughed out loud as soon as I saw this new ''recipe''. Just WTF? Not much to add to what's already been said (great snark as always), but the misspelling of ''bouillon'' caught my eye (I'm a native French speaker). I would definitely not snark on non-native speakers misspelling it, but Jill, if you're gonna make those ''recipes'' public, you might want to try proofreading and googling prior. It's really neat and totally awesome, trust me. Yay!
  16. I was about to say... Maybe they were going for a poor man's version of some Pinterest/hipster trend (this whole ''rustic chic*'' aesthetic)... Either way - once again the Duggars can't be bothered to put efforts into anything. *I know, LOL at the Duggars and chic considered together.
  17. Video at the TTH - wth is Jessa wearing? Wonder if she might be pregnant again... (I know it's been speculated ad nauseam but still.) That horse race shown on TV at Cathy's place kinda looks like a video game or something, and not an actual race. Probably just my eyes but anyway XD
  18. Lol yeah, I get how important the Oxford comma is, particularly in some instances. Was just wondering if it would be absolutely necessary in the case of Lauren's friend's post (right before ''and strength''). Anyway
  19. Just wondering (I am not a native speaker), would an Oxford comma be absolutely necessary in this case? I checked the Wikipedia article about it and while it says that ''a majority of American style guides mandate use of the serial comma'', it also adds that some guides advise against it, or to only use it when necessary (to avoid ambiguity). That being said, it would look more elegant (to my eyes, at least), and I feel like my natural tendency would have been to use such a comma in this case. And now I have Trisha Paytas' ''I Love You Jesus'' stuck in my head ?
  20. If I didn't know any better, I would think Jill is trolling us with these recipes. Just... wow :| @QuinnInND That sounds (and looks) delicious!
