  1. Thank you! Oh god, he fancies himself an INTJ? I feel so ashamed of my brethren.
  2. I get a 404 error. Maybe because I'm in Russia and Google.ru didn't cache it or something. Why Google.ru would deny us such greatness I do not know :(
  3. Yeah, he looks like a chauffeur or something. All he needs is a little hat. I can't access his OKCupid page through google cache :( Anyone still able to access it?
  4. His accent sounds like a typical Russian accent, not Israeli (Jewish people from Ukraine tend to speak Russian). English is more nasal than Russian, and when Russian men speak English, their voices tend to get higher and more nasal. As far as the VB bag... Loren either left it in Israel/Canada OR she had to bring a whole bunch of crap to the airport with her and then had him carry it.
  5. The process for bringing over someone you're already married to isn't really faster. You have to prove the same things for a CR-1 visa--that the marriage is a legit relationship, that you have enough money to support both of you, etc. You can do a Direct Consular Filing if you're living in the foreign country with your spouse, but I'm not sure if even that's any faster anymore.
  6. He immigrated to Israel from Ukraine when he was 10. I think Loren just seems like a bit of a drama queen. Like your boyfriend just gets approved for a visa and you start whining about losing sleep? I have a feeling Alexei won't put up with that behavior for long.
  7. It's huge, but unless you're going to some place in the Caucasus or another region with its own specific culture/ethnicity (which Kirov is not), you won't find all that much variation in traditions, culture, etc. You can see what I'm talking about here under "Touring the City": https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_wedding_traditions
  8. I forget what Aleksandra said, but usually in Russia you go around to different sites and monuments and take pictures on your wedding day. Then you have a big party with a toastmaster who makes everyone play stupid games and lots of alcohol is served. Going around to people's houses is maybe something people would do in a village, but I've never heard of anything like that.
  9. I assumed Alexei was Russian-Israeli, Alexei being a Russian name.
  10. Couples Therapy wants suggestions for next season's couples... Danielle and Mohamed???
  11. The link to Amy's etsy shop didn't work... what is her etsy store name?
  12. Trimthefat, why that friend of Danielle's is not in a hijab can be found in a bonus clip on TLC's website.
  13. I'm not finished yet, but I'm shocked that Jason is actually the "Hot" Brother in his family.
  14. If you go back in this thread, there is a link to the court records where it shows that Dani's son went to a hearing for a domestic violence charge. The victim is Mohamed. I think the sentencing is on the 15th. Sandusky is half an hour from Norwalk.
  15. Your nephew? Is Daya your niece? Toaster Strudel, that was my thought too. Also they may have wanted to get away from her son, since Mohamed has a restraining order on him and it may be difficult to avoid him at the bar and Applebee's.
  16. They are about half an hour away and Norwalk seems to be considered to be in the Sandusky area.
  17. Is the EU passport a passport for diplomats or something? I saw pictures on google image of a passport that is a royal blue with yellow stars, but all of the times I've seen people with European passports they've been burgundy/reddish in color. Croatia has a darker blue, though. It seems like this EU "passport" is some kind of brochure, and all of the EU member states issue their own passports, which are usually burgundy.
  18. I think it has to do with whether you could get a better job if you stayed in the US. I know a professor who was turned down for a visa because they told her she was a risk since she had a US PhD and could get a better job at a US university (which she actually did eventually do). A pediatric epidemiologist would make better money in the US. But a family from Capetown that has enough money to send over 20 family members just to go to a wedding probably wouldn't have a more advantageous situation in the US than they do in SA. Plus rich people are welcome anywhere.
  19. Mo's passport was shown when he met with the lawyer and his was green, I believe. The U.S. is the only country I can think of off the top of my head that has a blue passport. That sticker would most likely be from a travel/visa agency, so he is probably with Dani.
  20. In some ways, but not the way that article presented it! And there is still definitely the perception of American as the land of milk and honey, and then of course these people move to the US and end up in Geriatic Gator Land (Jason and Cassia) or that scary dive bar (Dani and Mo).
  21. US tourist visas are very difficult for Russians to get. If Amy's family is wealthy enough to pay for all of those family members to come to the wedding, that makes them more likely to be granted a visa.
  22. Dishwashers and dryers aren't common in many places, such as Europe. It doesn't indicate much of anything in Daya's case; it's cultural. That article is strange, since it doesn't say which indicators they're using. The example they give of Russia makes me think of John Steinbeck's quote about America being a country of temporarily embarrassed millionaires. Much of that survey has to do with self-perception, and I could see where American optimism would push America's bottom ten in front of Russia's top ten--although having lived in both places, I can assure you that the top ten percent in Russia is doing much better than America's bottom ten. The world is much larger than America and American culture, and plenty of people are living just fine outside of its borders. I would watch a Dani and Mo show, cringing the whole way through. I don't think she's smart, but she's a schemer/scammer for sure.
