The Rockets was actually one of the first teams that were mentioned as being interested in Russ, when it was reported he was open to be traded. Them and teams like the Heat.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter OKC has agreed to trade Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul and picks. I wish Russ the best with his new team and his reunion with James Harden. From what I understand they have stayed friends since James left OKC. I am interested in seeing how they and the Rockets fare together now that they are reunited as teammates.

IMO, it's unfortunate to see how OKC is falling as a franchise. They are one of my favorite teams and have had so much talent over the years but have come close, but fallen short of winning two championships. If they do trade Russell Westbrook, I hope he's traded somewhere where the team is still competitive and will make the playoffs. I've heard some interesting rumors/reports about teams that could trade for him, to include the Pistsons, T-Wolves and even the Rockets. (Though, that it reported to be more of a long shot) Somewhere like the Pistons could be interesting. If he were paired with Blake Griffin I think (if they stayed healthy) they get the Pistons back to the playoffs and maybe a better seed than they had this year (which was 8th.) Maybe with a bit of push they could at least make the 2nd round, which is more than OKC has done since KD left. I think I even saw a trade scenario where they would be able to keep Andre Drummond as well. If so, a trio of Russ, Blake and Andre could at least be competitive in the East. I've also seen some other suggestions/potential trade destinations mentioned as well. Russell is one of my favorite players so I hope he ends up in a place where he can at least compete.

I was hoping he would stay with the Raptors, too. I think they could have went back to the finals next year if he had. But it looks like he always wanted to go to LA and Clippers it is. I'm a bit surprised by the Paul George stuff. I wonder what will happen with this team now.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter, the Miami Heat are finalizing a sign and trade deal to acquire Jimmy Butler. It was previously reported that Miami was a place that Jimmy was interested in.

The Nets signing KD and Kyrie is definitely great news for them. Especially since they did a nice job last year and made the playoffs. These signings give them a very optimistic future. On the other news, this is bad news for the Knicks, who cleared up cap space and was hoping to sign/obtain somebody big. Especially after trading Porzingis. But now it looks like they won't really get anybody big, they missed out on getting Zio, and KD/Kyrie didn't choose them. I don't really see them getting a big acquisition in free agency now.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter, (as well as other reporters) league sources are saying that Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan will sign with the Brooklyn Nets. Adrian is reporting that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will both sign four year deals. ( He's saying KD will be for 4 years-164 million/ and Kyrie 4-Years 141 million.)

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Kemba Walker plans to be in Boston on Sunday to finalize a 4 year deal $141 million dollar deal with the Celtics. Adrian is also reporting that Kyrie and the Brooklyn Nets are looking to move towards a 4 year deal as well when they meet on Sunday as well. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27083706/sources-walker-celtics-finalize-deal-sunday https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27084045/irving-nets-moving-4-year-deal

I do wonder how well the Lakers will end up doing next season now that they have made this trade. I had saw they were picked as one of the favorites to win the title next year before this trade was announced. They traded away a lot of their young core, but I do that the young player they chose to keep Kuzma is one of their most talented young players. I wonder who else they may end up picking up in free agency. I see some people speculating they may try and get Kemba Walker. Or maybe Jimmy Butler who has opted out of his contract with the Sixers.

I think it's nice and interesting that Kawhi has two finals MVP with two different teams. (An honor that only a few great players have). He also helped put a stop to teams 3 peating (the Heat and Warriors). He really was excellent in these playoffs. When he first came to Toronto, some people in the media were questioning whether or not he could lead/elevate another team. And was wondering if he was just a system player (who benefited in the Spurs system). But he showed that he could lead/elevate another team. I thought he came into his own even more this year as player with the Raptors. I think he may end up staying with them and he could possibly thrive with them in the East.

Woo-hoo Raptors, lol. Congrats to them and their fans on their first ever NBA Championship in franchise history. Often times it's fun to see a team win for the first time. And I'm very glad they beat the Warriors.. The Raptors worked very hard and were very impressive throughout these playoffs. I have enjoyed watching them play in these playoffs and they were pretty resilient throughout them. Including in the earlier rounds when they were down and fought back to win series. I enjoyed the playoffs this year including the EC rounds and they played a big role in that. Wonderful ending for them.

I think that media as a whole is thrilled by this.I do think that many of them support the Warriors way more than they do the Raptors. And they like to see the same results over and over again. Often many in the media are always rooting for the same teams to constantly win/dominate. Also, some of the people in the media were trying to complain how thing weren't fair without KD playing. It's unfortunate that he's injured but teams have injuries all the time. And the Warriors have benefited multiple times playing against injured teams. (Cavs, Rockets, Spurs) It's the type of thing that unfortunately is apart of the game. Hopefully the Raptors will win game 6. They don't need to see it extended beyond that. Players like Steph and Klay are capable of putting together big games, and GS could still potentially extend/win this series. Here's hoping that doesn't happen.

I feel like the Raptors got a bit aimless in this game, for some reason. I felt like in stretches in this game there wasn't enough urgency to finish off the Warriors. And I think that hurt them. They didn't end up retaking the lead until very late. Overall, I still like the way they have been playing and hope they win the championship. They won't mess around and have this go to a Game 7.

lol. I had a feeling this was going to happen. I want the Raptors to get the Warriors up out of here.

I had a feeling that the Raptors were going to lose tonight. They were bit shaky throughtout this game, especially after KD got injured. Kawhi did a nice job of trying to get them the win at the end but the Warriors did enough to win. I hope that the Raptors win game 6. I do not want this series got to a Game 7. It's going to be very energetic in Oracle Arena, being that Game 6 really will be the last time the Warriors play in that arena. I wish KD a healthy recovery. I Think he wasn't ready to come back and may have felt pressured to do so.
