  1. Isn't there some sort of relationship between the show and the radaronline site? So maybe there's some validity to this article? http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2014/12/rosie-o-donnell-whoopi-goldber-fight-view-fire-staff/ I'd love to see Rosie take on more of the moderating duties.
  2. Whoopi and her stupid affected voice, and then the Ah Bay Say thing - it's just not funny. Surely she has heard that before.
  3. Yuck. Show respect for your elders and all, but how relevant is she? She's going to hobble out assisted by Whoopi no less, and hype her silly show that nobody cares about anymore.
  4. Sherri's coming out strong against Cosby. It's a good thing. I'm sure Whoopi would shame her somehow if she could but thank goodness she's powerless vis a vis Sherri now.
  5. Ironic to me that the one everyone called a bully (RO) is actually the only one who stands up to the real bully (Whoopi).
  6. Good golly. Whoopi is absolutely useless when the panel is discussing the CIA torture report. Somebody needs to cut her mike. And for her to say that the photographic evidence of the torture could have been photoshopped is reprehensible. Everybody involved has acknowledged that horrendous torturous acts took place.
  7. Whoopi is an attention whore - the fart stuff, the contrarian viewpoint, VG voice - whatever gets the attention on her. And she feels threatened by anyone she perceives is smarter, more talented, than she; so whatever Rosie is for she's against. I admire RO's restraint. She's learned that a soft touch yields better results long term. "A gentle hand may lead even an elephant by a hair."
  8. Watching Joy on Morning Joe now makes me realize how much I miss her perspective on The View. She seems so genuine and I rarely disagreed with anything she said or did on the show. Anyway, her one woman show opens this weekend in Greenwich (Cherry something theatre) and she said she'll be talking about The View some. Anybody in the area?
  9. And contrary to what Nicolle said, the report concluded that the "enhanced interrogation techniques" a/k/a torture, were not effective and did not yield good information.
  10. Slight tangent here - Whoopi screwed up the game show (How silly was that?) intro for the Downton Abbey cast and acknowledged that maybe she should have read it in advance. Ya think??? Nicolle stepped in to salvage it, but still.
  11. They showed a clip of Whoopi presenting at The Kennedy Center Honors on the CBS morning show. From what I saw she misread her lines "Oh, God. Oh, God!" so that the joke didn't come across.
  12. The show is not faux lite anymore and I really appreciate that. Thank goodness Geddie is gone or else we'd be seeing more of the likes of "Judge" Pirro and Trump appearing as experts of some sort. Whoopi's not a good moderator though and if her contract is not renewed or she leaves on her own accord it would be a good thing.
  13. So Whoopi has no intention of addressing (on the show) Cosby's thanks for her support. That sounds kinda wimpy to me. Not to pile on but she really has no business doing any of the food segments. She makes it hard for the guest to get his/her point across.
  14. Along with the constant references to her two and a half year old and identifying as the lone Republican, Nicolle often uses superlatives in a weird way. For ex. today she referred to the protesters as "magnificent." (H/T KW at Rosie's blog) Granted she's ten times better than Bitsy at this job. We're not seeing the rehearsed talking points that Bitsy regurgitated after her before the show meetings with Geddie. Nicolle's more subtle. She's a much more strident partisan on Morning Joe.
  15. The panel missed an important point today when talking about segregating students by sex to improve academic performance. Sure, social media and culture play a role in students being more familiar with sexual issues at a younger age, but besides that, girls are in fact going through puberty at much younger ages than in the past, many as young as six to eight years old. Is it due to the foods they consume which have been treated with antibiotics and other environmental factors? Now that would be a good hot topic as long as Whoopi doesn't weigh in.
  16. I would bet good money that Whoopi is clueless about Ray Rice's football skills. From what I've heard, he was a third rate running back, had a bad season and after sitting out this long doesn't stand a good chance of being picked up by another team notwithstanding the video. Running back's careers are notoriously short. For her to act as the authority here is ridiculous. As in most situations when she adopts that "this is how it is" attitude.
  17. I don't hate Whoopi. I think she's a lousy moderator. She used to have a really hard time reading the teleprompter and would show up stoned and unprepared. She's upped her a game a little recently, maybe due to pressure from the producers or higher ups? She has a difficult time expressing her opinions in a coherent manner. She makes all sorts of excuses for famous people's bad behavior. She resorts to gross bodily function references when she's floundering. She puts down others and their opinions as if she's the final authority on everything. And why does she have such awkward segues or cuts to commercial? She is just not well suited for this job IMO.
  18. Whoopi and Cosby are alike in many respects. They're old school. They worked hard, succeeded in a white man's world, and now they (think they) get to make their own rules. But times have changed and they haven't kept up. You cannot chastise your audience or interviewer and expect that public opinion will be on your side simply because of who you are or once were. You cannot demand respect, you earn it . . . and can lose it pretty easily.
  19. Per Rosie, Monday's show will be live. Thank goodness. I'm just glad someone is there (finally) to call Whoopi on her BS. Every other host has been too intimidated, including BaWa. She's in no position to give parenting or relationship advice and her poop, fart, sagging breasts asides are not funny. I still think Rosie's picking her nose was just to give Whoopi some cover.
  20. I think Whoopi's still pissed about losing the Slim Fast deal over her Bush remark and in her mind she feels that she and Cosby are both being unjustly vilified via public opinion. I don't like Steve H or Cosby. Both seem to think very highly of themselves and therefore entitled and shouldn't be held accountable. And they're misogynists to boot.
  21. Unleash RO and RP and muzzle Whoopi.
  22. Sorry. I did not mean to defend the sport of boxing although I realize it may have come across that way. Boxing is barbaric. Professional football at some times, too.
  23. Rosie, the consummate fan, slowly came to the realization that Babs was not up to the job. And it was painful to learn. No doubt she's been a Whoopi admirer for some time, too. But Rosie's too savvy not to see that Whoopi is a terrible moderator. Whoopi's a performer, but she cannot interview or maintain any sort of engaging conversation. That's a special skill and just because you rub elbows with celebrities doesn't mean you know how to talk with them for the audience's entertainment. Personally, I think the all-knowing Whoopi persona is a cover for a whole lot of insecurities. Also, I may be in the minority, but I don't mind Rosie P's latino push or her obsession with boxing. It's an interesting new insight for me.
