Who is your favorite couple?
admiralrodcocker replied to project90's topic in How To Get Away With Murder [V]
I voted Annalise/Eve, but lord help me, I'm also falling for Michaela/Asher. I thought it was a horrible idea at first, but week by week they have grown on me. I really liked their scenes last episode and now look forward to seeing more of them. -
My favorite part was who is the bigger child, Ryan or Bentley? LOL

Her problem is the way she probably went about it. Extreme exercise and extremely reduced portions relative to her size. She needs to cut back on her calories in a moderate sense to sustain her weight loss, but this show has proven that she doesn't even try. Point still is that her body is not incapable of losing large amounts of weight like she likes to act like it is.

Damn, the editors are really going after Whitney this season aren't they? I feel like in the last two seasons they would have largely edited out her cake shoveling scenes, but this time they made a point to have her say she's not a cake lover, then precede to highlight to the audience just how much food she eats. She's really in denial. She blames PCOS for the majority of her weight gain and that it makes it hard for her to lose, yet she has lost 100 lbs in the past when she was disciplined, so not impossible, and she blatantly ignores the fact that she's morbidly obese because, well, she eats like a morbidly obese person. Thin people don't eat as much cake in one sitting as she did in that scene, and if they did, they wouldn't eat the rest of the day because they'd be in pain.

1. I do not like Caputo and never have. He's a weak punk. Everyone has always praised him, but I never thought he was shit and this season just proved it. He's easily led around and let's not forget what a perv he is, masturbating to the inmates, although that always seems to be forgotten. 2. I think Morello is boring, especially on her own. Nicky being gone in season three and her [Lorna] subsequent dating story line just highlighted that. 3. I am no big fan of Piper on her own, but I like Piper/Alex. When they are together and when Piper is not on a power trip. the pairing makes Piper more tolerable.

You're right. Not benefit of the doubt for the panties, but benefit of the doubt that white people congregating is ever bad, but when black and brown people do it, they must be up to something.

I LOVED this season. Poussey's death gutted me, and still hurts, but this season got me right in the feels. They touched upon everything. Race relations, white privilege, corrupts sadists guards, for-profit corrupt corporate executives, mental illness, etc. The women of this cast are amazing. Love or hate the characters, the female cast of this show always brings it, and they really did this season. I cried and/or teared up at so many moments, especially during the second half. I'll admit, the first 4 or so episodes had me worried that this season would be another slow one like three in which not much happens, but the second half took a shift for the dark and then it went there in so many ways. Piper - I usually don't mind her. At worst she mildly annoys me, but she was on some other shit this season. Arrogant and ignorant. I'm glad she got branded. She started that white power shit whether she wants to accept it or not, and got off easy as far as I'm concerned. Maybe now she'll think twice before running her mouth. Taylor did an excellent job. Alex - I enjoyed her interactions with Lolly and Frieda over the dead body. As much as I didn't like Piper this season, I do like Piper/Alex when they are there for each other, so their last few episodes supporting each other were nice to me. Caputo - Punk ass. I've felt this way from episode one season 1. Nice to be proven right. He talks a good game, but when push comes to shove he's weak. He's also a perv, but that always seems to get overlooked. Poussey - I never would have guessed I would have ended this season crying over the loss of my favorite character. I am so glad she got to be happy with Soso before she went. I am going to miss her terribly. Maria/Blanca/Maritza - I really enjoyed all three of these women this season. Their stories were fleshed out better than I could have hoped for. I always thought Maritza was boring and ditsy, but she proved me wrong. Her having to swallow the mouse was chilling. Maria is a straight up gangsta for real, not the fake one Piper was trying to be. Blanca by far had some of the best, "fuck you" to the guards moments this season. Nicky - I'm glad she's back, but not excited to see her relapsing. Her reunion with Red made me tear up. The guards from hell - AWFUL, every single one of them especially Humps and Shit-catella. Even the good Bayley I can't look at him right now. I know it was an accident, but he still killed my favorite character off. It's just too soon. I do like how it was weaved in from last season that a lot of these guards are incompetently trained, and the training was cut short to save money, and in the end, a young woman died because of this. I also see people saying McCullough is one of the better guards. She can be nicer, and she did offer Maritza tampons and asked for eyeliner lessons, but she ain't shit either. She co-signed to the brotherhood instead of standing up for these women. Fuck her. Daya - I am the most surprised by that ending. Daya spent most of this season in background. I do like the narrative that's going around that her whole time in prison has been spent getting fucked over (no pun intended) by various guards, and she's bitter as hell and out for blood. That one scene alone has me more interested in Daya than four seasons worth of her having hours worth of story. I'm really curious to see what's going to happen to her now. Lolly - Lori Petty was so amazing. I'm seconding all those in the media that say this woman deserves an Emmy. One of the most heartbreaking moments was watching her get dragged to psych. She had me laughing and crying this whole season, even though there is nothing funny about mental illness. She doesn't belong in prison, she needs proper mental health care. Another sad commentary.

Well my heart is broken. Poussey has been my favorite since at least season 2 with her anti-Vee stance. She was always one of, if not the sanest of the inmates, and always (mostly) bubbly, positive, and full of life. Some asshole spoiled her death for me when I was on about episode 9, so when I watched I knew what was coming. Taystee's howl at the end killed me. I have never cried during an episode of this show before, but the tears were fear flowing. I still cannot believe it :( I also loved Blanca getting on the table after Shit-catella pushed Red to the floor, followed by the rest of the inmates doing the same. Race relations this season have been heavy, but it was heartwarming to watch of these women band together against these fucked up new guards.

True she was comitting a crime, but the point was, that Piper was doing the exact same thing but given the benefit of the doubt because she's a white woman, and Maria is brown, so she must be guilty without a doubt. That IS the way it works in the real world. Also, Maria is constantly accused of starting a gang when more than two Latina women are conversing together, and yet Piper, again a WHITE woman, is seen with groups of other white women, and her group is called a "task force" and can only be doing good things, right? As a person of color, this stuff is very real and hits very close to home.

I pretty much liked today's show. I liked the first dress Liz had on better. The second one didn't seem red carpet enough, but Becky can wear anything. Nina was annoying as hell. And she when she said, "sister" to Jordan, I saw red. Really, wtf? Michelle ad libbing? I hate to say it, but if Roger were playing another character not Franco, I could get behind a his character and Liz pairing. They have decent chemistry. As do Kiki/Dillon. In fact, this Kiki has grown on me and I no longer wish for her death. I don't want Lucas to die or be injured, but again with the anvils...
-
Wow, the cartoon anvils couldn't have dropped harder around Lucas' head today :(
-
WHAT?! I thought he was in his 20s. I always thought out of the trio, that Parry Shen was the oldest. I guess not.
-
Either way, this killing off of Lucas, (which I fully believe will happen) is non-nonsensical. They could have done so much with his character. I waited for years for them to give him a real story line. The only real "story" he ever had was a possible threesome between him, Brad, and Felix. Ugh. Oh yeah, and his insta-relationship with Julian which took no time at all in becoming amicable when it should have been hostile for a good long while. What is the point in killing off a legacy character who gets no screen time as it is? Brad and Lucas' marriage plot has been on hold for a YEAR. This just seems mean-spirited.
-
pfft, now there's a rumor going around that Sam feels "sick." So....she's probably pregnant, and nine months later, in honor of her brother, she'll name her bouncing baby boy, "Lucas." I hate this show, and soaps in general. I think OLTL was the only soap not to kill off one of their gays, (ATWT Reid, AMC Marissa, Days Will) but they did blame them and use them as a scapegoat for the ratings tanking so...

Boo hiss. I wanted Maggie/Riggs. They have more chemistry by far.
