  1. I understand what you mean. For me though, the coming out (even if it might have been anachronistic for the time period) was such a breath of fresh air. I was so worried it was going to go the other way. And yes, maybe it is unrealistic to the average experience, but it's nice to have T.V shows just normalising minorities. Instead of rehashing the same obligatory angst storyline over and over again. It’s sort of the same feeling I have about racism storylines. Like yes, off course poc experience racism, but must every T.V character of colour have to have a horrible storyline regarding racism? Sometimes I just want to watch something fun with people who look like me, and not be reminded off the other stuff. Does this make sense? Anyway, YMMV.
  2. If I could like this multiple times I would. So I’m just going to assuming the killer is going to be Zack, which is going to make me so angry all over again. The only way this is going to be a surprise is if they reveal that Zack was actually blackmailed all along to keep his loving family of seven siblings and parents safe. …or that sweets was Gormagon.
  3. I miss Armando Iannucci In the past two episodes there’s been a distinctly less…British vibe to it. It’s still great, but I’m just not finding it as witty as I used to. I feel like there’s been a touch too much emphasis on arbitrary relationships than actual politics (which was totally always done but with such great balance it was always believable). The Dan and Amy scenes are a classic example of this. Lord knows I’m the shippiest shipper to ever ship, but everything about them feels contrived. The only scenes of them I liked was their team working ‘fuck, Selina Myer!’ scenes. If they want to push the romantic angle It would have been so much better to just have Dan and Amy walk into that room together and that be that (actually for a sec I thought it would reveal that Dan was sleeping in the same bed as Amy because of the room shortages). Now we’re going to have angsty angstness which I hate. The pimple; the skype problems; everyone finding out in a nano second who Selina is fucking; Dan getting mixed up and fucking Amy’s sister for a job, are all kind of things I would expect, but together just starts to feel like a regular sitcom. Don't get me wrong I'll still be a die hard veep fan, but it kind of feels like an end of an era...

    Veep in the Media

This is a little old, but I didn't see it posted anywhere.
  5. Dipping into the shallow end for a moment, but I had to re-watch the Selina, Amy and Dan scene because I was so distracted by how amazing Anna Chlumsky looked in that burgundy dress, like damn. Now if you all excuse me while I go to the gym...
  6. No, I totally felt for Jonah. That guy was terrifying- the way his smile instanlty dropped as he walked away *shudder*. I was actually kind of surprised they went for such a dark vibe, compared to the tit grab, that was hands down assult. Not that the tit grab wasn't assult! It was just played more lightheartedly, gah am I making sense? Also poor Gary.
  7. Both of those fics are terrific, particular the first one. I felt sick for a week after reading it, but like in a good way...
  8. Oh yeah she definatley stayed, professional concern you know. My fan fiction addled brain has made me think that every person who has showed kindness towards Reid also got some nerd action: Lila, Austin, Kimura....Ethan. I can't help it. So rarely do characters appreciate him that when they do I feel like the writers are setting up something, which is so sad. I didn't love Maeve though. Sweet girl, but purely there as a damsled love interest. I liked Dr Kimura and Austin, but assumed she wouldn't be able to keep up with him. I hate those 'everything is great now that I have a girlfriend' plots. Just show him being appreciated and happy dammit!
  9. This is why I loved that little exchange of Eliza putting herself down and Henry reassuring her that she's just in her twenties. Also the: ‘what am I going to do with you’? Squee! Ehm…sorry. Thank god they finally mentioned Eliza’s awesome blackboard walls. I've been freeze framing like crazy trying to catch everything. The best one this episode ‘remember to look people in the eyes’. Poor Freddy this is like the fifth time Eliza has mentioned Henry, surely he’s not that clueless. My bet some sort of confrontation will happen. Dammit. I really shouldn't be so invested in a show I know is cancelled. This is like Freaks and Geeks all over again...

    The Bullpen

Look, if MMG is involved I’ll take whatever. There’s a LOT of pretty going on in that photo though… I may be giving myself away here.

Too cute! Also that photo is a shippers dream come true…just saying.
  12. Cuteness personified: according to MGG's twitter he will be marrying Paget and her fiancé. https://twitter.com/GUBLERNATION/status/538411359226974208
  13. I have a pretty outgoing social life and I have never once been asked out on a date or had the balls to ask a stranger out (seriously how do people do that?). I also can get pretty flustered talking about sex with people I don’t know very well. Lack of confidence when it comes to casual relationships or sex is a common thing, but doesn't necessarily point to complete sexual inexperience. I think the problem (for me anyway) is that although Reid is characterised as a really awkward person with bad social understandings I've just never seen him as THAT Introverted/shy. To me he is a pretty outgoing guy in his own way. His lack of social cues makes him pretty friendly. He had no issues striking up a conversation with Kate in the elevator. I find it unbelievable he hasn't made any friends at his favourite coffee shop/Indian restaurant, which turned into something more. In terms of attractiveness I will admit that I was once a heathen who did not find MMG attractive (I have repented......many times), but even then I could objectively admit why others would. You can dress up Reid in all the ill-fitting shirts, greasy hair and cardigans you want, but you’re not going to get past the fact that he’s a young, clean (heh, sorry), good looking, and doesn't live at home. People are going to find him attractive. The circumstances in which he met Maeve would make anyone nervous about their appearance. Connecting with someone on an intellectual level without the factor of looks would make the most confident person worried if they hold up to the fantasy. I didn't think it indicated chastity on his part. I have never really loved the idea of the writers bringing a character on purely as a love interest, unless of course it is done well (no angst please!). Honestly I’d just be happy for them to show people that actually appreciate Reid’s company outside of the job. Like that Star Trek drinking game? I loved that.
