  1. She's an exceptionally bad liar. She looks up and to the side every time she lies, which is a classic tell. What I noticed was her exaggerated fake excitement at seeing Sean on her screen. She must have read all the internet comments pointing out that she acts far happier to see Chris. Now she's overcompensating. Why is she in the Dominican Republic at all??? It's a sex tourist paradise. It's where she met sex tourist Chris, and he began giving her money and she began having sex with him. Sex tourists don't go to Haiti because it's too dangerous and underdeveloped. Chris' condo is undoubtedly in Sosua/Puerto Plata, which is where the met, and it's hooker central. I don't see any legitimate reason for a shifty young Haitian woman to be there, unless she's making big money selling stripper shoes to her hooker friends there. Sean has no backbone and should have ended this relationship several dozen times already.
  2. Let's also consider that Abby may not be selling the clothes in Haiti. She may be selling them to her hooker friends in the Dominican Republic. Did anyone notice the trashy stripper shoe she pulled out of the bag? Hookers in third world countries who service white sex tourists have more money than the average person and a tendency to spend a lot of their discretionary income on clothes and makeup and drugs.
  3. They go to Spain. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/aug/23/we-would-rather-die-than-stay-there-the-refugees-crossing-from-morocco-to-spain
  4. Almost all young single men in Morocco want to leave Morocco. They desperately pile onto rickety boats to try to leave Morocco. Azan was on that dating website chatting up mentally stunted, physically unattractive American women solely because he wants to leave Morocco.
  5. I think Azan's strict adherence to "Moroccan hotel room law" is the same as Muhammad's adherence to "Muslim law" prohibiting him from kissing Danielle during Ramadan. He despises her. He wants out of Morocco.
  6. Do foreign fiancées who are not on TV shows have incredibly awkward exchanges with rude in laws who Skype them or meet them for drinks and tell them “We think you’re a gold digging whore” or “Don’t come to America with that attitude”? Think of how many on this show got grilled by very direct, meddling in-laws: Jenny, Alla, Noon, Anfisa, Devar, Pedro, there must be more. Also, how many logo-less baseball caps did Larry bring with him? I count beige, blue, and of course white. And a grey flat cap.
  7. Why does Josh keep saying that "Aika can have any body and I'm so lucky she picked me?" Aika is surrounded by impoverished Filipino guys who can't improve her life substantially. Her online suitors on Filipino Cupid and whatnot are mostly much older, socially inept, physically unattractive dudes. Aika is 36 and most of the Filipinas on these websites are in their early 20s. She accepted his marriage proposal after knowing him five days because she's desperate. The question isn't why would she marry him, the question is why isn't Josh marrying an attractive 23 year-old Filipina from one of these websites, because he totally could.
  8. For what it's worth, I once met an American embassy consular officer in Africa and asked him about K-1 fiancee visas. I asked, "Let's say you have a couple that meets all the requirements, they've met in person, they can show it's an actual relationship and not a sham, but, come on, they hardly know each other and you can tell that the younger/better looking foreigner is probably just using the American for a green card. Will you deny the application?" His response was something like "No, if the American is genuinely in love, we're not going to stand in their way and tell them they're making a dumb decision and tell them who to marry and who not to. We'll just approve the visa application."
  9. Thailand is very cheap and a lot of Western guys with no job and money move there because of it. They can get jobs teaching English for $10 an hour and eke out an existence centered around cheap beers and hookers. Undesirable loser-type American guys flying to Thailand on vacation and falling in love with the first twenty-something year old Thai woman they meet is very much a thing. My first impression of Annie is the tattoos. She has a big one on the back of her leg and another on her shoulder. In Thailand, a pretty woman from a poor village with tattoos who can speak English and is working in a bar in a tourist area being chatted up by Western men is generally a hooker or ex-hooker. I appreciate that she was singing in the bar, but I would assume she was involved in the bargirl/go go bar/prostitution scene before becoming a singer, or that she moonlighted as both, or something like that. Some Thai families ask for sin sot, some don't. The $1,500 he offered is pretty low, but she's a bit older (24), she's not well educated, from a poor family, worked in a bar, so she wouldn't command the $20,000 - $100,000 sin sot that a high class family might demand for their daughter's hand in marriage. I would guess $3,000 - $5,000 would be appropriate.
  10. I don't think Karine will be that isolated in Louisville, because if I've learned one thing from 90 Day Fiance, it's that the Kentucky/Ohio region is the mail order bride capital of the USA. My theory is that people from northern/coastal states are smarter and wealthier and don't go for foreign brides. And people from South Carolina and Texas are too closed minded. This leaves medium-backwards states like Kentucky/Ohio as the sweet spot for Americans who will import foreign fiances. Along with Florida, of course. Wait, is crossing yourself when you're served a meal and thus telling the host and everyone in attendance "I'm afraid your cooking will kill me" making a scene?
  11. Yeah, I can't remember if the article touches on it, but a major motivator for these girls is helping their parents. In the USA our parents often have pensions, savings, Medicare, social security. In developing countries, when you are too old to work you often have no money to pay for things like food, housing, medicine, health care, etc. Children support the parents, then their children support them, etc. The girls can marry a Filipino guy her own age from the same lower economic class and basically give her parents nothing, or go abroad to work/marry an older foreigner and use the money to support her impoverished parents in their helpless elderly years. Tough choice.
  12. Did the show say that Larry is a vegetarian? I idn't hear that. I heard him say he's not an adventurous eater and was afraid of diareyearr.
  13. Yeah, it's terrible than she hasn't seen her mom. Many Filipinas leave the Philippines to earn money as domestic helpers in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Middle East, etc. And many of them are not treated well by their rich Chinese or rich Arab bosses. Or they work for an employment service that hold on to their passport while they are abroad, deducts huge amounts from their pay to repay the plane ticket, etc. Some of the younger ones then also work as freelance prostitutes in sleazy bars in Hong Kong. If you want to read something heartbreaking on this general topic, read this story from the Atlantic about an American family that had a Filipina slave for 50 years. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/06/lolas-story/524490/ As far as Jenny is concerned, she's not going to reject Larry for being too poor. He likely earns 10X what anyone in her family makes. Even if they can only send couple of hundred bucks a month home from Florida, that makes a huge difference. And she can work in the USA and send 90% of that money back. Most definitely. Jenny's not that young or that pretty and is in no position to reject any decent 30-55 year old American suitor.
  14. Jenny's furious face is a lot like her regular face.
  15. Good work. How do we know that's him?
  16. Larry would have trouble picking up women once he told them he worked at McDonald's. And if Larry did get a date with a woman he'd blow it by calling way too many times and sending her a dozen roses before the date and wearing his white baseball cap inside the restaurant.
  17. There's good fame and bad fame. "Scabies-afflicted sex tourist homewrecker" is bad fame.
  18. She certainly doesn't give off a sex worker vibe. She's mature for her age, and she doesn't have obvious tattoos, we haven't seen her drinking/smoking/using drugs/swearing/cackling like typical third world bargirls. But the thing about impoverished countries is that, due to the lack of other employment opportunities and the pressure to support impoverished parents, a lot of of otherwise "normal" 18-22 year old women start working in sleazy bars, or they become "freelancers" who hang out in bars that are known pickup joints, and then go home with Western guys for money. Some of these girls may only have 3-5 customers a month. Some may have a lot more. But many of them don't look or act much different from other local girls their age who work as waitresses, sales clerks, etc. There's a presumption in many developing countries that if a local woman has a white boyfriend, then she is or was a hooker. That's why if you're in Bangkok and a white guy introduces you to his Thai girlfriend, it's taboo to ask "So, how did you guys meet?" Because there's a great chance they met at the strip club where she was working. Anyway, pretty 20 year old Haitian woman who speaks good English and has a 60+ year old white ex-boyfriend she met in a "cafe" in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic is going to add up to "hooker" 99% of the time.
  19. If Paul had told Karine he was an arsonist during their online chatting she might have lost interest. But after he has flown to Brazil to meet her, and her whole village has seen her go shack up with him at a hotel, she can't break off the relationship, because the shame of her not marrying the white guy then would be too great, everyone would think he rejected her.
  20. My favorite part of the episode was Chris meeting Sean and saying "Your first time in Haiti? It's certainly different." And Sean responds, "Well, every place is different from every place else." Well played, Sean. Well played.
  21. The documentary film "Seeking Asian Female" is excellent. It's about an old white American dude importing a mail order bride from China. It's kind of like a 90 minute episode of 90DF, all dedicated to one f'ed up couple. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a mid-week fix. She has the option of going straight and committing fully to whatever older American dude she meets online and not insisting on keeping in touch with prior lovers or customers or whatever Chris is.
  22. Also, I think you hear the bad guy calling her "puta," which means the same thing in Brazilian as it does in Spanish. It would not be unusual for a pretty young Latina in skimpy clothes hanging out with a white guy to be called that by a local male. If the whole thing were faked I don't think TLC would have scripted that insult.
  23. Yeah, last week it was "I don't mind if she has a small glass of wine." This episode he gave her the never drink again ultimatum.
  24. "The summer me."
  25. Well, I've mentioned before that a lot of these impoverished women don't actually want to move to the USA.They just want a white husband who can lift them out of poverty and lift their families out of poverty. Often that requires moving away because the white guy won't move to their part of the world, but if he will move, and they can stay in an area where they are comfortable, and close to family, but with access to white man money, they are happy to do that. Haiti is a total mess. Dominican Republic has some nice areas for expats and they could probably buy a lovely condo there for $200,000. Close to her family, close to what she knows, she probably has friends there, it has a low cost of living, and she wouldn't be living as a prisoner in the American suburbs where Sean lives. Very possible especially if they determined she had a history of being a "working" girl. Involvement in prostitution can be a disqualifier.
