I think "slow down we have only known each other two weeks" is a perfectly sensible response to a marriage proposal except in the fast-moving, high stakes, musical chairs game of online Russian bride hunting.

I love how Ed told his mom the breakup was because Rose wouldn't talk about her past. Ed and Rose solved the issue with "the past" on Day One. She told him some B.S. about having only one boyfriend before , and he accepted her answer. that's not why they broke up. But basically, Ed told his mom Rose is a slut/whore with a "past" and that's what the breakup was about. He's not Australian, even though he's been living there like 10-15 years? I don't know why she'd think this could be resolved in a few months. When did Varya become such a crazy lady? Was her rejection of his proposal just a power move designed to show him who is the boss and the relationship that backfired terribly? Now she's acting very jealous and entitled for a woman who turned down a dude's proposal.

Not impossible to get but not particularly easy either, especially for a young-ish single woman who has an American boyfriend, as there would be a heightened suspicion she'll try to marry the American in the USA and circumvent the K-1 waiting period and vetting process.

He actually should move on, because her "not now" was really a "no." His criminal record's not going to change. She was smirking in the car ride back when he whined again, she has made her decision and isn't going back. Good for her.

In the early seasons of the show, virtually every single couple that met in person got married. It was boring. I'm quite enjoying all the breakups and rejections. Geoffrey doesn't handle rejection from women well. "I never thought in a million years you'd turn me down." I got the feeling he wanted to slap a yes out of her.

I don't think I suggested at all that Ed got a bad edit. I believe I have pointed out several times that Ed is one of many American men on the show who has shamelessly traveled abroad, shtuped the foreign woman, and then said "Oh by the way there's something I should tell you . . . " But if we're going to snark on the American men and suggest they are lying about their intentions, their lives, their wealth, etc. then I think it's more than fair to snark on the foreign women who say things like "You shouldn't ask me to take an STD test, I only had one boyfriend before you."

I doubt anyone here or in the Philippines would suggest that an impoverished woman is a sex worker "just because she is a single mother." The majority of single mothers in the Philippines and other impoverished countries are not sex workers. People have speculated that Ash must be a gigolo not because he's a single father, but because he arranges meetings with lots of women and seems incompetent to be a professional relationship advisor. Some speculate that Tim is gay/asexual because that's how he acts, and that Stephanie is not gay, because of how she acts. A lot of us speculate that certain foreign cast members are pretending to be in love but are actually frauds who are in it only for the green card. Many viewers speculate that Mormon Josh was cuckolded by party girl Aleksandra, because of her behavior and the physical features of the child. Or speculate that Noon's husband Kyle is stoned a lot because of his bloodshot eyes. Or speculate on whether Paul will one day snap and murder Karine. Some viewers speculate about whether Ed was sincerely seeking a wife in the Philippines or is he a horrible, manipulative cad who was playing Rose just to get free sex and fame with no intention of marrying her. On balance, I think speculating that certain cast members are or were sex workers is well within the scope of reasonable viewer snark.

You may be right on this, but I don't think we know his intentions. Maybe he would have married her if she said "OK" to no kids, just like Nikki said "OK" to Mark's no kids and pre-nup demands. She's already got a kid. I don't think he could have known for sure the vasectomy would really be a deal breaker. Most women in her situation would have said "OK" to that condition. I'm getting the vibe that she despises him and his deceit and that this is a bigger dealbreaker than no more kids.

I would suggest that people in the Philippines aren't reading websites like this and then concluding she must be a sex worker because American viewers are speculating that. If they're calling her a sex worker, it's because they have concluded that based on what they are seeing of her on the show, or someone there in the Philippines is claiming to know such information. I can imagine many Filipinas being mortified that the impression Americans may get from watching this Ed-Rosemarie trainwreck is that Filipinas are low class, undereducated, tattooed, promiscuous, bad-breath suffering single moms who live with rats and have scamming siblings who ask for money. Many Filipinas are college educated teachers, nurses, etc. The ones who watch this show and comment about it online may think Rosemarie gives them all a "bad name" and that Ed is scraping the bottom of the barrel of available Filipina women.

I find it odd that Sian, who knows Ash better than anyone is worried that Ash is getting himself into a bad situation with Avery. She should be telling Avery to run.

Rose's point by point argument listing Ed's bad behavior was delivered so well that I wonder if it was a rehearsed and producer driven dramatic "near breakup" and that she forgives him in the next episode and gets back on the green card train. Also, for what it's worth, I don't think Varya and Rose are angriest about "he had sex with me under false pretenses before dropping the bombshell news." I think they are angrier and ashamed about "I introduced him to my entire family/village as my boyfriend before he dropped the bombshell news."

That was shocking to me. I've never heard of an impoverished Filipina telling an American boyfriend "I'm done. The green card isn't worth this."

That's right. Mike also waited until after he did sex to Natalie before mentioning "Oh, by the way I'm $30,000 in debt." And Natalie said "Had I known that I wouldn't have gotten into this relationship."

But he was a convicted felon before they met for prior drug related issues. Then he got caught running drugs after they were married.

There's a pattern here with the American men pursing foreign wives. Pole waited until after boning Karine to tell her he was an arsonist. Geoffrey waited until after shtuping Varya to tell her he was a convicted drug dealer. Michael waited until after bedding Juliana to tell her he wanted a prenup. Jorge waited until after nailing Anfisa to tell her he was a convicted felon. There's such an imbalance of power in the Ed/Rosemarie relationship that it wouldn't surprise me if she said "OK, no more kids." What other choice does she have? Stay in poverty in the Philippines with her son?

Seeing Ash conduct that seminar leads me to believe that there's no way he makes a living giving relationship advice.

Ash can't even plagiarize a seminar competently.

Yeah, neck-deficient American dudes don't go to Tijuana and meet normal local women and hit it off and have a one night stand without there being compensation involved.

I don't understand why "shaming" Ed and Rosemarie for meeting online is OK and why David and Annie are held up as an example of a legitimate "organic" relationship even if they met at a hooker bar. Prostitution is illegal in 49 states because Americans, through their elected representatives, have determined that this activity is immoral and contrary to the public good. On a federal level, the DS-160 form that an applicant must submit to get a K1 visa specifically asks if you've been engaged in prostitution in the last ten years. If you answer yes, you probably don't get the visa, because we don't want creepy idiot Americans going to impoverished countries and marrying hookers who will pretend to love them and then arrive in the USA and start turning tricks and spreading STDs and getting involved in associated criminal activity. The US state department will certainly "judge" someone for being a prostitute much more harshly than it judges someone for using an international dating app. I think the way Ed and Rosemarie met should be a non-issue, it's a very common way that K-1 couples meet these days.

I disagree. There's nothing classy about Annie. They had their joint bachelor/bachelorette party at a hooker bar complex in the notoriously seedy city of Pattaya, where she seemed overly comfortable. She refers to sex with him as "boom boom" which may sounds cute to an American audience but not if you've been to strip clubs in Thailand and had a dozen women a night come up to you saying "You boom boom me? 3000 baht." Normal Thai women don't call sex "boom boom." Everything about Annie screams "low class hooker" to me and I suspect to anyone who is familiar with Thailand.

Wasn't he "working" there for Chris showing sex tourists around Bangkok? Guys like David don't meet non-hooker 25 year old Thai women in non-hooker bars in Bangkok.

Organically? They almost certainly met at a hooker bar. Because those are the only bars in Bangkok a whoremonger like David would go to and where a Thai woman would talk to David.

Ah, OK. Are there Ed groupies yet? Like can he parlay into sex with weird young American women? Didn't Colt start suddenly getting a lot of action after breaking up with Larissa?
