It always hits Different tm when this show tackles LGBTQ+ issues. Idk why, but the other episode with the husband from a few series ago kills me every time I watch it. This one, luckily, had a better ending. I would hope, that if Trixie does marry Hot Widower it 1) isn't instant (he just lost his wife!!!!) and 2) doesn't take her from her job. (this is selfish. I love and would die Trixie and probably would stop watching if Helen George left the show) (side note, how beautiful did she look in her Argentina colours? Stunning.) Pupil Midwife Nancy is someone I'm not yet decided on, but I love when Sister Monica Joan assists in births. It's only happened a couple of times, but I think it's really lovely. I don't know how I feel about Luce and Cyril. I know they've been together for seasons, and this is the obvious next step in their story but meh.

Speaking from my experience, a lot of it has to do with 1) racism and 2) control. Like Black people being considered unkempt for having dreds in, and white people being seen as fashion superstars for also having dreds in. The Kardashian family being hailed as satorial heroes for putting their hair in box braids when thats....a classically black style thats been around for ages. There are so many examples and I really wish people could just FUCK OFF and worry about their own damn selves but thats not gonna happen. The double standard is real. (which, yes, is why I have my hair professionally straightened.) Me too!!! Sitting in the kitchen with a towel over my shoulders, my mom absolutely jamming and giving no shits when she burned my ears. Not great memories, but memories nonetheless.

Okay, even setting aside the love triangle shit for a moment, I don't get why the superintendent guy is being painted in a bad light when all he's doing actually being reasonable. Elizabeth is not qualified to teach blind students. Being almost qualified isn't the same as being qualified. It was like they almost tried to make it discriminatory but then didn't, like they knew. The Canfield family is perfect and unproblematic in every way, but I hated that plot so much. Like great, the whole town rallied around them (and how cute was it when the little boy was ringing the bell and he was being lifted off his feet) but that doesn't change the fact that Elizabeth doesn't have the qualifications. like...Superintendent guy was right.

This is the biggest mystery, imo. I'm glad this love triangle shit is over but at the same time it doesn't feel earned. Lucas deserves better, a person who will actually love him and be a partner with him, unlike Elizabeth, who just waffled. Did they have that whole ass graduation ceremony just for Robert? That's wild.

I cannot believe I actually just let a white man whitemansplain my hair for 22 minutes, or that I felt SO SEEN during it. I have very complicated hair feelings and have for my whole life, and even knowing and seeing the repercussions Black people face for...having hair on their head, seeing it laid out like that is really jarring. knowing how much Black actors go through, how much Black students go through, how much Black employees to thought. it's a lot, and on top of everything, it's exhausting that hair has to be something I constantly worry about.

Farie totally crushed that made to measure. I’ll admit to not knowing much about Frida Kahlo but I loved seeing such a bright M2M. (I think her pieces are beautiful though. There are some where you can feel all the pain she has.) I also like how Adeena bought her own culture into the made to measure. Died at the sarong/so right joke. That pattern challenge was a bitch and a half!

I really want to rescue Lucas from this shitty show he's on. (Tempted to write a bar owner named Lucas into my next book if that wouldnt be plagarism) I really only watch for him and Rosemary. And Lucas just deserves better. Honestly, the problem with drawn out triangles means that the main character will almost never end up in a good light after waffling and changing their mind. it makes them look fickle, and in Elizabeth's case, it makes her look selfish and lowkey weak as well.

Perfect oldie song 100%. They're scrolling through spotify. "He's so fine"? Menswear challenge. "A Smile and a Ribbon"? Dresses! (and of course, they upload every episode's soundtrack on spotify!) I definitely want to make a bakers cap now, they're very cute! I loved seeing the made to measure as well, and it's exciting knowing there's a women's jacket MTM challenge coming up too. I only sew for myself, so utility jackets are probably the last thing in the world that I'd sew. One of my favourite things about this show is seeing the pure creativity that the contestants have. Look at the pattern challenge, they were so creative in their uses of colours and patterns, and always the same in the made to measure. I love seeing them have the same brief and go in so many different directions

BIG SAME. The way she doesn't even care about Mike that much, lmao, the show will never convince me that Mike and Fiona are a viable couple. (Although, I do see where Mike is coming from. Too bad she's a lesbian.) Speaking of the show convincing me, I know they did not just spend a whole episode on the will-they-wont-they on a couple I don't care about. Like they fast tracked this whole ass relationship only to spend 95% of the episode lowkey waffling. It was so lame. The amount of time these two men have spent fighting over this woman who isn't even that great of a catch is insane. I don't even care how it ends please just end it. I won't mind seeing the Ultimate Throw(tm) Nathan die in a fire. A big and long one. (Lucas deserves to ride off into the sunset with someone who deserves his love language of acrs of service) (Also it really bugged me that the dress that Molly and now Florence has definitely has a concealed back zip.)

I don't like how they're showing us the made to measure patterns this series! THey used to show the brand/number, and that's how I got so many new patterns but not this year. I'm gonna have to go on a deep dive to see if i can find a couple from this episode. And, like last week, I'd rather stab myself in the eye than do all those buttons and buttonholes on a time limit. Lawratu is so lucky! I wonder if she knows the lotto numbers
