  1. I don't know if you've hopped on the IMDB pages for this show, but some episodes of trivia, and the trivia is just calling out the historical inaccuracies on the show. It's amazing.
  2. I’ve been feeling like this wedding won’t happen, but if they bring back the love triangle i will be so tired.
  3. I LOVE NANCY SO MUCH! and the ending! I said I wanted Hazel in a pink ladies jacket by the end of the season and I got my wish. I’ve been trying not to get attached, but if this is cancelled, I will be devastated. I already lost The Company You Keep, TV Gods! highlights of the ep: Jane and Gil laughing at their sisters; anything little Betty and Frenchy do; the girls stealing a car (I WOULD HAVE DRIVEN YOU!); Nancy keeping a spare jacket on her at all times!?!?!; and of course, NANCY SLAPPING DANIELS. I loved that the first song was the ROTPL equivalent of “She’s everything. He’s Ken.” I also really loved the scene between Nancy and Cynthia. Those two are so close, and they way they did it, without talking, writing it down instead. It really hit. It was a gorgeous moment.
  4. I really love this dress on Olivia! The costumes are so, so good. (Also it helps that Cheyenne is drop dead gorgeous. Between this and Riverdale, I'm getting some great 1950s inspo) It's sad to see Ritchie go (I'm a little less broken up about Buddy). We need someone to beat Daniels' ass, and if it's not Ritchie, I hope it'll be Gil. Daniels is actually so treacherous. Like he sees her absolutely heartbroken about her brother and PROPOSES? TO A CHILD? I know she thinks she loves him but girl. Girl. Girl. Please. Jail for predator! I also enjoyed Nancy's attempts to get her girls back together. They all need each other! What if, for the season finale, they replace Olivia with Susan? I would not like that but it would be good. I feel really bad for Susan. Buddy is the middest guy around. Loved Nancy's teen angel!
  5. SEND. MR. DANIELS. TO. JAIL. jail for predator! Jail for predator for 100 years! I really loved Hazel and Wally’s duet! I’ve loved all of her songs. I laughed at her creating the hand jive, too! What an icon! Nancy and Cynthia’s duet was very cute too. Nancy has had the least songs so far, but she’s my favourite character. She’s so weird and I genuinely see myself in her a little bit I love how they do the frosty palace scenes, like they’re all one shot, and everything moves so well, its like a dance scene in itself. Olivia giving up her jacket was heartbreaking: she was the one who was convinced they’d stay together after the election, and I think she needs them more than she realizes. More and more, i feel bad for Susan.
  6. I read that she could only do 3 days of filming, and Im glad that that song was part of it! She's such a star. Of course she's booked and busy, and it's what she deserves!! What does it say about me that I kind of loved the ending?I love how good Melissa and Josh are (especially together), and all the Schmicagoans got a version of a happy ending. But it is something you have to work towards and fight for, and I think I feel that every day. I loved that the (twin!!) leprechauns are Oscar and Stephen. But I still wish we got eight episodes! Two more! Then we could really draw out that conclusion, that was my gripe with last season too, it felt so quick. (GIVE ME RIVERAS ROCKY HORROR MOMENT, CINCO PAUL!) I was telling my mom, though, (who, you must know, calls Aaron "the dedication guy" because I dedicated my debut novel to him) that this cast loves musicals and they love the show and they love doing it and that shines through every moment. It's a lil silly, it's a lot of fun and I'm grateful for it.
  7. Soundtrack releases tomorrow! What banger is gonna top your list?
  8. now it ESPECIALLY includes evita, thanks! im just not an ALW girlie. Never really have been (unless you count for 4 month stretch when I was 10 and i would DIE for Phantom but now I'm older than 10 and my tastes have changed)
  9. I feel like Patti is kinda saying stuff to say stuff. Cinco Paul dispelled this rumor on twitter.
  10. I truly think Cecily should do a musical! Her voice blows me away every time. Her solo this ep was beautiful.
  11. Oh my god! I was wrong on all of my references bc I will never listen to an ALW show 😭
  12. Okay of this continues there will be a reference in this book i cant even be mad! I think Tituss is theeee standout this season. His voice and comedic timing are just on point. (He was on a break!!!) I love Melissa’s song this episode, theyve been so so good this season. Me this morning: I hope Ann Harada does some singing! I have been appeased. I loved the Ladies Who Lunch number. (Obligatory: yes i am still going to be I’ll Drink To That lady when I grow up.) company is my favourite show and I was wondering if and how they’d incorporate it in this season since the vibes are so different and i gotta say I’m delighted at how they did it. Biggest laugh of the week for me was Jenny snapping for emphasis when she and Topher kicked Melissa and Josh out.
  13. me, trying to edit my book: talk to daddy, talk talk to daddy, he may be sad he is not ideal...
  14. Olivia’s song is so good. Total banger. I didn’t love Jane and and Ritchie’s duet, but it was cute. Jane’s song styles seem to be more poppy, which isnt really my style. But my god, they are adorable! I cannot believe that the man playing Daniels is also the man playing Lucas on When Calls the Heart. It boggles my mind every time I see him on screen. I wonder if we’ll get more backstory on his and Olivia‘s relationship because right now, I’m thinking the man should be in jail. For life. Cynthia is chaotic and I love that for her. Nancy and Wally on the bench was very sweet. I’m hoping they’ll give Hazel more to do.
  15. Ahhhhh I love this! I too would have a hard time not bopping along. I’m glad he’s singing more this season. And I love to see Melissa and Josh working together! I love that they annoyed Topher so much they had to take over the parable. MVP of the episode for me tho was jenny and topher’s ballad. As the resident Aaron Tveit stan, it has to be my fave. It also seems like theyre giving characters who weren’t as important in s1 more to do! I love the little look it ended on from our narrator. Tituss is so expressive and he’s definitely a standout cast member. And I love the sparkly jacket he’s wearing! I want one so bad! Alan and Kristen are amazing together. No orphans will eaten in the show though. I think that’s just a touch too dark to actually do.
  16. This show keeps getting stronger. I love that its just teenage girls being teenage girls. I love middle school Frenchy. (“IT LOOKS LIKE CAKE! BUT ITS MEAT!?” Same sis. Same.) The country club bit made me so uncomfortable, like the mom trying to keep her coat when she sees the maid. It can’t be easy for her, hiding who she is for the sake of her daughters. It must be so much stress, but I love Janes mom and dad together. The idea of the town being really divided really works. I can’t wait to see more of Hazel. Olivia and Nancy are my faves so far. I’m gonna need Jane and Ritchie to do a duet.
  17. Give Jane all of the awards now. It’s what she deserves. (I’m so glad they didn’t make me wait for 1000 years to see her this season) Loved the fact that there were places named after Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, and Schwartz on Quick St! I loved Melissa’s outfit, with the hat and the shoes, it was just adorable. i didnt think this plot would wrap up so soon, but i’m going with it. the whole Bells and Whistles number was pitch perfect, and the patter bit was fantastic. I love that Patrick Page’s character is just Hades from Hadestown. (That can’t be a coincidence!) not a huge fan of our hippy friends, but Josh trying to get everyone to keep their clothes on was great, as was Melissa burning her really expensive bra. Was the actor who spoke in the jury the guy who played Pete in s1? “I’ll Drink To That” lady continues to be my life inspiration.
  18. Yes! I’ll Drink to That lady is Joanne from Company, vodka stinger and everything! The use of tunes from season 1 as instrumentals is genius bc its so grounding. Its like “this is the same show even if many things are different.”
  19. O! M! G! so I'm obsessed with this show, and this era of musicals is really more my speed! I was worried that Josh and Melissa hadn't really worked out their issues, but it's a musical!! so I let that go. The best part of this show is that you can tell everyone on it is loving it all the time and that love drives the show and is palpable to the viewer. I loved Josh and Melissa's little Schmigadoon outfits at the beginning. Dove Cameron would be a sensational Sally Bowles. She was the highlight of these two eps for me. I love that it's such a different vibe but still is the same show. Also the I'LL DRINK TO THAT!!! lady is goals and who I want to be when I grow up. Dove Cameron's solo number in ep 1 and the trio in ep 2 are my favourite songs so far. I hope Playbill outlines all the references again this season; those were a godsend in s1!
  20. And yet, gay and trans people managed to exist, despite everything 🥰
