  1. Sorry if this has already been addressed, but does anyone know why the Duggars repeatedly say "Central America" instead of the specific country? If it was once or twice I wouldn't think much of it, but it's so often that it must be on purpose. Anna was the only one to mention El Salvador by name, which made it sound like she hadn't been coached on the official "Central America" rhetoric. I liked Jana's green shirt. It really brought out her eye color! And I liked seeing her hair straight. It seemed like she meant it when she talked about how she enjoys problem-solving. Too bad she's not putting that to use outside of being "in charge" on a recessed lighting project. Also Jenny totally kills it every time she's in front of the camera. She gives so few fucks. I would watch a Jenny spin-off. And James too, have we seen him yet this season? edit to add that I also got really sick of the "danger and violence!" talk. Yeah, certain parts of Central America can be dangerous. Do some research, decide how much risk you're willing to take, and then shut up about it already! I also hate the idea that your life is automatically in danger every time you leave the US. No. Plenty of places as safe, if not safer, than the United States. Even in Latin America. I wouldn't expect anything less from the Duggars, but still. gahhhhhh
  2. The pregnancy reenactment was sooo awkward. Jill couldn't have made it less awkward, even though it was staged? Anna's "I'm jealous!" comment, Ben's "they're beating us again," all the discussion on who gets which houses. GAH, stop with all the competition and jealousy! They act like they're joking around, but it seems like it runs pretty deep. I liked getting a TH from Jer/Jed and hearing them talk about how JB wouldn't be able to supply houses forever, hah. And the thing that disturbed me most: Mechelle's "I can't wait to be a grandma again!" Again? Uh, Mechelle, you still have living grandchildren. You didn't stop being a grandmother. That line perfectly exemplifies how all children are dead to Mechelle once they reach the age of 1. (Or maybe how Josh and fam is dead to her since moving away?) In one shot you could see part of one that says "Jessa Duggar" on the other side. Maybe they had nametags from some event and Jessa stuck them on her bed afterwards? Hopefully it wasn't something she put too much thought into/went out of her way to do... edit to add that I forgot to mention how much I hate watching Jill and Derrick interact. Hopefully they're different off-camera. But I doubt it.
  3. IIRC, she said "not yet" meaning she wasn't actually knocked up at that moment, not that she was putting it off for a bit. Or at least, that's how I remember interpreting it.
  4. Or maybe she's been bra shopping, now that she's allowed out of the house? Maybe it's just a big padded push-up.
  5. I'm not sure what they were going for in the music video. The final product is pretty cringe-worthy. Although I hate to say, I really like the sweater...
  6. I don't remember the name, but I think it was in Hinsdale, IL if that helps.
  7. What is going on with all of these picture? My stomach turned when I opened up Jessa's instagram and saw their kissing picture--and then realized it was actually Boob and Mechelle! I don't fully understand their motivation for sending it or her motivation for posting it, but gross. I'm just imagining MEchelle analyzing every detail of her daughter's picture and directing JB on how to tilt his head, position his lips, etc. EW.
  8. It *looks* like girls and women front-hug each other, but that's it. Guinn and Jessa, Jill and her wedding cake lady, Michelle and the nail lady, maybe Jill dress shopping too? I can't remember if we ever see the Duggar sisters front-hug each other, though.
  9. I've noticed that some of the Duggar girls, especially Jill, have that pelvic tilt thing going on, where they let their butts and stomachs stick out instead of standing up straight. I think that's where a lot of her "baby bump" comes from, especially in the earlier pregnancy pictures.
  10. Yeah, it looks like girl on the left is wearing a huge nightgown or something. She looks short, but not that much more than some of the other girls. Maybe she's an ultra-fundie and wanted it longer?
  11. Wow, I really enjoyed this episode in only a minimally snarky way, which isn't something I can say often. Random thoughts: When JB told Jessa she looked beautiful, did she respond with an awkward "you.....toooo??" or did I mishear that? hahaha. And then I'm pretty sure she winked at Ben--anyone else catch that? Scandalous. Loved the hand-holding and full frontal hug, of course. "She likes how I look, I guess" - Ben. LOL. I loved how Anna asked Ben what he would do if Jessa said no. Her reaction was too funny, along with her "I would've said no just to prove you wrong!" to Josh afterwards. She seems to have grown into a normal person with a fun sense of humor. It depresses me everytime Boob (or anyone else) says "This is the biggest/best/whatever day of her life!" Congrats! You're 22 and it's all downhill from here. I was insta-annoyed as soon as Jill and Derick were on screen at the end. Did not realize how much I didn't miss them until that. I liked when Jana went "Oookay!" and clapped her hands together when JB and DQ were defrauding us. I wonder how often she's embarrassed by her parents. The scavenger hunt might not have been Jessa's cup of tea, but I don't think she hated it (minus the roses). She seemed to be having fun with Jinger. I don't think she was *that* rude when collecting the roses, just embarrassed and not very friendly. I probably wouldn't have too much better. I agree that the actual proposal was beautiful and very sweet. Too bad they couldn't get married in that chapel too. Ben's a sweet kid. He's young, and not incredibly articulate, but I don't think he's as stupid as everyone's saying. He's just really awkward on camera and seems to try and compensate with self-deprecating humor. Jessa is absolutely growing on me--she's practical, independent, and possibly (hopefully?) determined. I really hope she and Ben figure their life out, because I could see them living a pretty normal life, as long as they can financially break free from Boob.
  12. Oh my god, I thought this was a sarcastic nickname that was born here.
  13. Love Jessa's (modesty)alteration-free dress choice. I like Ben's outfit too, even the kinda-goofy coral bowtie--he looks more put together than Derrick did, IMO. I want to see the bridesmaids' dresses! I think it's great that they didn't do their first kiss in front of a billion people, but they really had to leave in middle of the ceremony to go do it? That's even more awkward, gah! And I don't even want to think about MEchelle and Boob having a "Duggar kiss" in their place. cringe cringe cringe.
  14. I noticed that too. I feel like their whole modesty song and dance just draws more attention to their bodies. Instead of thinking, "oh that totally normal girl is wearing a cute skirt," I thought to myself "Oh my gosh NIKE you can see Jill's butt!"
  15. Where did Jill find such a heathen to befriend?
  16. A lot of people are snarking on the baby-filled wedding shower, but I liked seeing evidence that Jill was actually involved in something outside of the Duggar compound. (It could just be because I missed the older episodes about her midwifery when they aired though). I hope she continues with it, although the chances of that are basically zero.... Also, did anyone else laugh at how unnatural the word "babies" sounded coming out of Jessa's mouth?
  17. If "frontal" hugging is so scandalous, why did they want defraud us all by replaying it in slow motion?
  18. Hey guys, I've lurked all season (and on/off on the old TWOP boards) and finally bothered to actually make an account. So, hi! Ugh, where do I even start? I wish Derrick had politely asked something like, "I want to avoid going into debt if possible. All-knowing Jim Boob, what do *you* think I should do if I had zero money to my name and my car blew up and I needed to drive to my real-person job?" I'm sure we wouldn't have gotten a straight answer, but I would have preferred that to watching him parrot back "zero debt zero debt!" with no explanation. And Boob's accusatory questions about college debt were infuriating. I would have loved to see one of their "intimacy" lessons. Actually I probably would've thrown up a bucket of froyo. Why did Jinderella have to sew all those ties by hand?! I love that Anna actually seemed concerned and appreciative. As grating as her TH's can sometimes be, I do really like Anna. She seems more reasonable than the blood-Duggars. I want to see more of James! As of this season, he's my fave Duggar by far. I hope he survives puberty without the life being sucked from him. As weird as it was, I almost kind of liked watching MEchelle get all excited about the nail wraps. She was being candid and silly, and it seemed like a nice change of pace from the weird persona we're normally treated to.
