I think what Caitlyn wants is the trappings of the Kardashian version of femininity: thick makeup, contouring, false eyelashes, Botox, plastic surgery, hair extensions, high-end designer clothes with low necklines and short skirts, and high heels. The Kardashian style is hyper-feminine and hyper-sexualized. To fit in with that style, Caitlyn would need to develop a conventional "feminine" way of moving and walking. In the real, i.e. non-Kardashian world, most 65-year-old women have quit bothering with hassles like false eyelashes, contouring makeup and hair extensions. Many of us have bad feet and we aren't willing to endure the discomfort of high heels any longer. One great thing about being older is that you decide: to hell with suffering for fashion! However, the paps did catch Caitlyn wearing ordinary old baggy pants, shirt and hat at the golf course the other day, so it's possible that she just glams herself up when she's being filmed for the IAC show. The paps didn't get any closeup photos that day, but I'll give Caitlyn the benefit of the doubt and assume she didn't wear her false eyelashes and contour makeup to the golf course.

If she goes on a date with a man and it's filmed for the show, you can bet the "date" will be someone who has to audition and sign a non-disclosure agreement, just like her new "friends" from the transgender community. He'll get paid too. But if Cait starts dating a man, what would the show do with the storyline about Candis and Cait flirting with each other? Will they write Candis out and write the man in as the "love interest"? That kind of scripting is on my mind because I was just reading about Tyga being under contract to appear on KUWTK as Kylie's love interest. Tyga and Kylie really are dating, but Cait going on a prearranged, auditioned and casted date would just be fake.

Helicopter pilot? [Edited below: I learned that Caitlyn is really a pilot.] The part Caitlyn took to Sergio's repair shop was a part from a toy helicopter operated by remote control. I'm sure there's considerable skill involved, but it's worlds away from being the trained and licensed pilot of a real helicopter. I don't know -- maybe the toy helicopter enthusiasts refer to themselves as "pilots." I would call it being the "operator" of the toy copter. If you're just operating a little recreational machine by remote control, I don't see what difference it would make what gender you are. The helicopters are just like the small drones for sale to consumers. Any woman can operate a drone as well as a man. It's a hobby either gender can do well and enjoy. That Fortune article was so stupid! First, the entire premise that TV shows are either "optimistic" or "voyeuristic" is flawed. When I watch the Weather Channel, I want to know if it's going to rain. When I watch the local, national or international news, I want to know what's happening. When I watch a PBS documentary, I want to be educated. When I watch a shopping channel, I want to buy a product. When I watch CSPAN, I want to learn more about how our government works. When I watch CNBC, I want information about the stock market and the economy. When I watch Turner Classic Movies, I want to be entertained. And so on. I don't watch sitcoms and generally don't watch reality shows; frankly I don't know how I got interested in the Kardashian-Jenners. I guess they are so pervasive in the media that they finally "infected" me, LOL. The guy who wrote that article is in the advertising business, so all he thinks about is how many products he can sell during the commercials. I don't think he understands human nature and TV viewing habits nearly as well as he thinks he does. I was kind of gagging at the way he described Caitlyn as some sort of saint who is above all the Kardashian fuckery. She isn't. She's right down there seeking publicity and money along with the other K-J's. I absolutely cannot imagine Caitlyn being a successful morning news anchor, or even being offered such a job in the first place. Aren't those people supposed to have experience in broadcast journalism? From what I've heard, the news anchors all worked their way up, starting out as cub reporters on local TV news stations. Caitlyn has no such training or background, thus she would have no credibility as an anchor. She has a speech impediment too, that lisp, maybe from some of the facial surgery or Botox. Her voice does not have the resonance needed for a news person either. It' a thin voice. I don't think it will sound any better as a surgically altered high voice. Talk show host? Nope, Caitlyn doesn't have the personality for that. A good talk show host must be able to show genuine interest in every guest, must suppress their own egos and let the guest shine. All we've seen of Caitlyn speaking with young transgender people is that she seems bewildered and clueless. Talk show hosts have to be on the ball with their guests. It also helps if they have TV reporting experience. For example, Oprah started out as a reporter on a small TV station. And look at the king of talk show hosts, Johnny Carson. Johnny was not only charismatic and a great comedian, but he had the ability to completely sublimate his own ego and show a sincere interest in guests from all walks of life. Johnny was just as enthusiastic about some ordinary person with an interesting story to tell as he was about the biggest celebrities. My impression of Caitlyn is that as a talk show host, she would be more concerned with her makeup, hair and clothes than in showcasing the guest. The advertising guy just doesn't get it. I Am Cait is losing viewers because the show is boring, not because the public has failed to grasp her wonderfulness. That show had only one thing going for it, the novelty of seeing Caitlyn as a woman. Everybody had already seen her in the Vanity Fair article and the ESPY awards show anyway, before I Am Cait went on the air. People watched the first show to see what she was like. So they saw her, and satisfied their curiosity. Then they moved on. There's a lot of competition for TV viewers, and the I Am Cait show isn't competitive enough.

I don't think Kourtney is going to be successful with the sex kitten image. She'll never catch up with Kim and Kylie. Ki&Ky look ridiculously plastic, but they do manage to ooze sexiness. Kourtney just looks meh. No charisma.

I felt sorry for Sergio too. The look on his face was like "Holy shit!" But he recovered his composure, and spoke in a gracious way at the end of his segment. I was wondering what the hell Cait expected Sergio to say when she walked in and asked "How much did you miss me?" Is that the way Cait talked to Sergio and other male friends before the transition? I didn't understand why the producers were trying to set it up so Sergio would go to Cait's house to repair the toy helicopter part. Were they hoping Sergio would agree to come inside the house, sit around having wine and cheese, and give Cait compliments? For that matter, do Los Angeles shop owners normally drive out to the boonies to make minor repairs on the things they sold to rich celebrity customers? It looks like Cait's house is way out of town. She was fussing about giving Sergio directions, so apparently Sergio had never been there. I saw a lot of product placement in this show. (Not necessarily for Sergio's shop -- I think they just wanted his personal reaction to the new Cait.) They made a big deal out of the charter private plane provided by Danny from the Wheels Up company. First Rhonda mentioned the WU company name. Then they filmed Danny welcoming the three passengers to the plane. Filming inside the plane, they made a point of showing a pillow with the WU name on it. So I suspect WU may have paid a fee to be so prominently featured on the show. Same with that ridiculously expensive New York hotel -- I can't remember the name, so if that was a product placement, it failed with me. Didn't somebody upthread say that the suite cost $2,000 per night? I thought that Cait staying in a place like that was just one more example of a rich person being out of touch with the rest of the world. The majority of travelers could never afford to stay in such an expensive hotel. I think the high roller gamblers visiting Las Vegas are given suites like that for free by the casinos, to encourage them to come gamble some more (and hopefully lose all the money they previously won), but in ordinary circumstances those super-luxury suites are out of reach for travelers. I didn't think Cait personally had to pay for the suite; the hotel either paid the product placement fee, or the cost was paid out of the show budget. What is the I Am Cait show trying to be, another version of the old Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous? Private planes, luxury hotel suites, exclusive Malibu estate, luxury cars, limousines, designer clothes. Maybe it's just typical reality show excess (especially Kardashian-type excess), showing the mass market worker bees how the other half lives.

Cait's PR team might have thought it was a great idea to do all these big publicity events in rapid succession, do a media blitz, but I think it's backfired. It was/is overexposure. The public is starting to get sick of Cait, just as they are already sick of all the other Kardashian-Jenner media coverage. Every day there's a new PR pic of Kim pregnant, Kylie in some new clothes or new car, Kendall in a midriff-baring outfit, Kourtney in a bikini, Khloe showing her sideboob, Kris doing something controversial, etc. Add to this Cait in a new dress, Cait posing with some celebrity, and the deluge of preview film clips and tabloid articles prior to every I Am Cait show. Many people are wishing the Kardashian-Jenners would just go away.

Did I miss something? I turned the show on a few minutes late. I saw the visit with Scott, Sergio, and all the rest. But I didn't see the segment where Kris visited and cried while talking to Caitlyn. Hollywood Life had an article, dated today and called a "recap" of the show, saying this segment would be on the August 23rd I Am Cait show. I read reviews of tonight's show in several tabloids and not a single one of them said anything about Kris appearing on tonight's show. Only Hollywood Life. Was the Kris segment originally scheduled to be on the 8-23 show, and they decided to hold it for another show, and forgot to tell Hollywood Life? Or did HL just screw up? The exes get very emotional and Kris cries as she confronts Caitlyn for dissing her in ‘Vanity Fair.’ Kris Jenner, 59, and Caitlyn Jenner, 65, are finally hashing things out and it’s difficult to watch. The former husband and wife can barely even sit across from each other during the Aug. 23 episode of I Am Cait, and it’s very sad to see. Kris tells Caitlyn that she was devastated when she read Cait’s Vanity Fair interview and shocked to read the things she said about her and their family. “You’re sensitive and amazing to all these new people in your life but you’re just not sensitive and amazing to the family you left behind,” she cries. “”When you feel like you gave your whole life to somebody,” Kris cries. “And the sum of it all was you were a distraction.” But Caitlyn doesn’t see it that way and refuses to apologize. Caitlyn says: “I try to do what I can. Be nice, reach out. You have to see it from my perspective. Be an ally when it comes to dealing with the kids,” Cait also gets choked up about Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner and says: “Don’t go there. This is not the issue. I was defending myself. It was a distraction from who I was. It doesn’t mean I didn’t love you or the kids.” Wow, that was intense! Caitlyn Jenner Takes Candis Cayne To NYC The rest of the episode was full of Caitlyn and Candis Cayne. On last week’s episode Candis invited Cait to have a sleep over and this week they fly to NYC to celebrate Pride Week. It’s clear they really care about each other, they even go to a broadway show! But we also get to see how Candis supports Cait before the ESPYs where she was awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award and she even gets to meet Boy George! Another sort of shocking moment is when Cait slams Kim Kardashian‘s ex-husband, Kris Humphries for making fun of her transition. “Did you hear what he did after the Diane Sawyer piece? Kris, idiot Humphries, tweets ‘thank God I got out of that family in time,'” Cait tells Scott Disick. “And just got absolutely ripped, oh just ripped. To which four hours later he had to give an apology.” Cait also addresses how Kourtney Kardashian is doing now that she and Scott are broken up: “Is she doing OK? She’s doing as well as she can do under the circumstances,” Cait says. “It’s obviously very tough on her. Obviously Scott has a lot of issues and she’s trying to deal with them the best she can. She’s got three kids with him…She’ll be OK. Relationships aren’t easy.” *** One thing I did see and did notice: that part where Cait was supposed to call Kris Humphries an "idiot" for tweeting he was glad he got out of the family when he did. That "idiot" remark was widely reported all last week in the tabs, from film clip previews provided to them by E network. But in the show tonight, they edited out the word "idiot." Hmmm. Reaction to the bad publicity? People had been criticizing Cait for calling KH an idiot. Hollywood Life also said nothing in their show recap about the segment with Sergio and the toy helicopter. Sounds like they were working from an outdated press release about what would be on the 8-23 show.

Despite my dislike of Khloe, I'll have to acknowledge that constant hair stroking, twirling the ends of your hair with your fingers, or flipping hair off your face every few seconds could be a nervous habit rather than a "Look at ME!" gesture. Sort of like biting your nails, or playing with a string of worry beads.

LOL, I don't think I'll ever get up to speed on social media slang. Now that I know Kris meant she was figuratively swearing on the Bible to tell the truth, my comment is: When has Kris ever been known for being truthful? She and everybody else in that family are masters of deceit.

It's a joke photo, but still, why is an A-lister like Jennifer having anything to do with Kris Jenner? I was just reading that Jennifer is now the highest paid actress. Was Jennifer that desperate for any more tabloid media coverage and more social media clicks, that she'd pose with Kris in this dumbass picture? And what is going on with Kris' hashtag, #Bible ???? She wants people who are searching Instagram for #Bible to see this picture? Radar is now claiming that Khloe had a crying breakdown between scenes in her appearance on I Am Cait. I'm not buying this. I watched that show. Khloe was cold as ice, spent the whole time irritably stroking her hair, spoke in an abrupt clipped manner, and had a flat, dead "Fuck you, Cait" look in her eyes. I think this Radar story is made-up damage control baloney to make Khloe look sensitive. The only thing I believe in the article is that Khloe was pressured into appearing on I Am Cait. It was pretty clear that she had no interest in talking to Cait.

She wanted to look good when she attended Kendall's runway fashion show. I'm tired of the clothes, hair and makeup stuff in I Am Cait. We've seen enough of that, haven't we?
