  1. Maybe its just me, but I don't think that this recent string of events is totally out of character for Callie. She always jumps into some situation with both feet and then is completely shocked when there are negative consequences. I think she sometimes browbeats people to get what she wants and if things don't go her way, she whines and then removes herself completely from any blame and becomes the victim. She did it with George, she did it with Hahn, she has done it numerous times with Arizona and she did it with the plane crash stuff. I don't think that any of it is malicious on her part, she does have a huge heart and just wants to be happy, nor am I minimizing the fact that she has been treated badly by various people. But she doesn't think before she acts and when things blow up in her wake, she is constantly bewildered at how she got there and seems to have absolutely no self-awareness as the part she may have played. So while the stuff with Penny and Sofia is on a much larger scale as things involving children always are, I don't think that this is some kind of Callie that we have never seen before. Its just that this time there she doesn't have anything to play the victim about.
  2. I really hope that neither Jo or Alex hooks up with anyone else. I am sure that whatever the conflict is, it will seem to come out of nowhere, but in the unknown amount of years that they are supposed to have been together, infidelity has never, ever been on their radar (I never saw Alex as crushing on Maggie, more as a mouthpiece for the writers to get everyone to accept her. If anything, I think she gets on his nerves and vice-versa). As far as the proposal, Jo initially didn't accept because she was in the middle of breaking up with Alex due to the fact that he had firmly lodged himself into Meredith's ass and Jo didn't want to be in a relationship where she came in second all the time. But, of course, I assume we are supposed to forget all of that because now it is being played as though Jo is just completely indecisive for no reason at all or because of some BIG SECRET that she has been hiding. In the end, I think that their issue will be something from Jo's past, but something that the writers' just recently thought up and never mentioned to Camilla. The way she has played the initial proposal as well as the ring still being in the drawer has been relatively lighthearted, not like she has some horrible secret that is keeping her from marrying Alex. And as far as him and Maggie, IMO Alex doesn't work with the neurotic, socially awkward nice girl types (see: Lexie, April), so I hope that they just stay friends no matter what happens with Jo.
  3. I always felt that the Mark/Callie/AZ stuff was the writers trying to have it both ways. Keep the Callie/Mark chemistry going but also allow her to move forward with Arizona. They did the same kind of thing with Alex, Izzie and Dead Denny. One more hookup with the fantasy and then back to the more realistic, palatable relationship.
  4. I'm trying to give the writers the benefit of the doubt...HA, no I'm totally not, that's a complete lie! But lets say I was, every conceivable scenario that I come up with is inconsistent with what has been written this season. I assume that Alex is going to press Jo on an answer about the proposal and that's when she starts "pushing him away," because she hasn't been pushing him away at all before that. So if her confession is that she cheated, when would it have happened and with who? And why has there been no indication of any such thing beforehand? She took him back way too easily after they "broke up," but it didn't seem to be out of any kind of guilt on her behalf. We don't even know how they broke up. Did Alex storm out to Mer's because Jo wouldn't say yes to his proposal? Or did Jo end up breaking up with him like she planned to do before he proposed? Just having that bit of extremely important information would really go a long way to having some of it not be complete bullshit. In all of the instances of cheating on Grey's has any of it ever been off-camera? I can't think of anyone. Another theory going around is that she is infertile for whatever reason. Ok, so why did nothing come up during all the talk of the eggs, and Izzie and when he offered to make a baby right then, why did she act like him coming near her with his pants down could actually work (I assume she is on birth control). If she has some secret husband stashed away from her years On The Street, then why the push for "What do I mean to you?!?! Why do you want a dog and not babieeeees?!?!" I guess it could just be as lame as her applying to places out of state, but why would she push him away for that and why did it not come up during the grant episode. I just think that the writers are now scrambling for something and since there are so many plot holes, they are just going to fill it in with some non-sensical scenario in order to give Alex and Jo something for the last two episodes. It pisses me off.
  5. I really can't think of any way this doesn't end up being some out of nowhere retcon. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/06/spoiler-room-game-thrones-once-upon-time-greys-anatomy-spoilers
  6. Unfortunately, I kind of reluctantly feel the opposite about this. We have had an entire season of Penny being perfect and being everywhere, getting screentime, character development and storylines that the majority of the cast didn't get. We have been subject to her negative chemistry with Callie, and we have been subject to Callie acting like a complete lovestruck teenager first and then a completely oblivious co-parent, and I really hope that there is a reason for it. Not just a tease that Calzona might get back together, not just as a heavy-handed PSA about custody battles, lawyers or adoptive parents, but because the writers needed to find a way to write Callie out. Or at the very least, because Sara Ramirez's contract has been down to the wire and they just weren't sure what to do. Of course, they could have done it 1,000 times better, but that goes for most things these days. After all of this, if Penny just hightails it NYC, never to be heard from again and Callie and Arizona simply go back to exactly where they were before, only now with distrust and bitter feelings, then I am going to be annoyed. Not because I want Penny to stay or Callie to leave, but it just seems a pointless storyline, again, when so many other things happened offscreen.
  7. Good point. The writers may ruin Jo by having her hookup with someone else, but they aren't going to do that to Maggie and DeLuca. Plus, don't forget that Jo put a blanket on Alex and Meredith saw it.
  8. It still doesn't make sense to me that Meredith testified on behalf of Callie. Not that I expected her to testify for Arizona, but as a parent and as daughter, Meredith has so much more in common with what Sofia and Arizona have been through. Isn't the entire premise of the show (the CAROUSEL for gods sake the CAROUSEL!!!!), that Meredith struggles against becoming her mother. Her mother who made Meredith all dark and twisty in part by running off to be with another man and keeping her from her father? Also, are they kidding me with the parents never get a day off stuff? I have one kid, am not a single mother and not a world renown surgeon, and I would kill for even 1/3 of the time off for drinking, casual hookups, trivia nights and midnight home improvements that these people get. (Well, maybe not the casual hookups. Maybe:)
  9. Best case scenario for me - Mer/Riggs hookup, Alex/Jo proposal (but not wedding) and I guess Kyle/Stephanie proposal, although it is really too much like Denny/Izzie. The Amelia/Owen proposal just seems ridiculously soon, and will almost certainly doom them as a couple because I don't think that there has been one rush to marriage that has worked out. So maybe that's a plus, I don't know. Jo's secret will be meaningful to her character and not some dumb plot point to make her look bad. Worst case scenario - Neither proposal is Jo/Alex. Not because I am dying to see them get married, but because that has literally been the only thing that they have had going on for nearly 2 seasons now and if it needs to come to some kind of conclusion. If the writers can remember to use the fact that AZ went to 56 trivia nights in order to slut shame her, then certainly they can remember that all but 1 of the 3 conversations that Alex and Jo have had in the last 10+ episodes concerns that damn ring. Red-hot fire-ant hatred scenario - Jo hooks/hooked up with DeLuca while she and Alex were on a "break" and everything that we didn't get to see gets completely retconned and the writers try to pretend that having the entire Jo/Alex breakup/nonbreakup/reconciliation offscreen was a real creative choice rather than extremely lazy and bad writing.
  10. If nothing else, I did appreciate the Prince song. And the residents at the bar scene made me realize how very much I miss lighthearted Greys. Between the custody fights, dead husbands, relapses, miscarriages, divorces and dead siblings, God was it nice to see a scene where people are getting along and having fun. This show needs a lot more of that. Say what you will about the newbies and the non-attendings, they can be such a relief from the depressing melodrama of everything else.
  11. Oh my god, how can Camilla keep a straight face up against these two? Is Billy Bush always like this? Does he have a crush on Justin Chambers? LOL. Also, I love how she has to set them straight about Alex and Meredith, poor Jo. This interview really doesn't say much about anything, but it does sound like Alex and Jo will be getting engaged at the very least, if not married.
  12. So I wonder if there are still contracts up in the air, and whether the finale will reflect that? I find the timing of this article to be interesting, and wonder if EW got ABC/Shonda's blessing to run it, just to up the suspense.
  13. Well, Jo being born Joe would certainly explain why she is apparently so freakishly strong! I am loving these ideas, even though I am still hoping for a killing spree/murder-suicide pact of some kind. Maybe she is somehow incubating Izzie's eggs under the bed next to her secret arsenal and will force Arizona the OBGYN/Neonatal surgeon to implant them into her at gunpoint. Either because she is sterile due to years of prostitution on the streets (where she used to live in her car, in case you didn't know), or because she was born Joe. Jo giddily planning a surprise church wedding for Alex and inviting all of his friends (and Catherine Avery) would literally be the worst, and completely out of the character that they originally introduced, so yeah, I could see it. In all seriousness, it could be anything, but it seems as if it is after Alex gains whatever "clarity" he is going to get (a breakup? engagement?), so you would think she would tell him them. The other confusing thing is the plural, secrets.
  14. Unless its a funeral (and even then depending on who dies) its seems like there would have to be some kind of time jump. Any church wedding would have to be planned and invitations sent, etc. If its a christening, then the baby has to be born, etc. I can't think of much else that would be held in a church with people dressed up. Other than maybe Stephanie and Callie (and I guess Jo depending on her "secrets") I wonder if there will be any other contract-related cliffhangers?
  15. Well, Owen may need to interrupt his own wedding once his secret sister Megan shows up from....wherever she has been. I think its interesting that there has still been no inkling of anything happening between Meredith and Nathan, at least not in the ABC stuff. I wonder if that is intentional and if it means that the stuff that is mentioned will be afterthoughts.
  16. I think that is what will happen too, and it would fit in with Sara being done filming. They probably got in as many JCap scenes as they could before she goes into labor, and if Sara is not in the finale until the last scene (which is what I think will happen) then they could have shot that ahead of time.
  17. All of this Is she/Isn't she Sara Ramirez stuff is getting on my nerves and giving me Heigl flashbacks. I get that they want to milk the drama, but the tweets by her and the cast and crew, whether its trolling or just dumb mistakes, just amps up the drama and now if she stays it will almost be like a letdown to me. I think that Callie is an important part of the show, even though she has never been one of my favorites, but the size of the cast is just too big and so I am ready for some people to leave. If it isn't going to be her then I wish that all of the baiting would just stop. At this point, I don't think she is leaving, I don't think Jerrika is leaving and I'm not even sure about Penny. So we are in the same boat for next season that we are for this one, and once Megan and more secret daughters/sisters/uncles show up we will be even worse off. Yay. And if she does leave, then unless Megan is bisexual someone else will be brought in for Arizona. Of course Jo is keeping secrets from Alex, they never see each other except when they have sex. There are a million things that I would love for this to be from her past or even from Alex's past (damn those Izzie eggs!!) but I think it will just be something dumb like she has applied to a program out of state and the cliffhanger will be if she will leave or not because clearly Alex will never leave Seattle. The three remaining Jo/Jolex fans are really going to be on the edge of their seat for that one, especially considering that there didn't seem to be a problem when she applied for that grant. Maybe Alex knew that she would never get it considering all of the attendees hated her 5 minutes ago. I don't think that the church stuff is for a real wedding or a funeral, maybe a flashback/forward of some kind since McKee is involved in at least one of the last two episodes and they seem to be connected. I hope its an exorcism. Well, clearly my Grey's fatigue is in overdrive this morning, which makes sense since it has been going on since about November LOL!
  18. I mean, I'm not saying that I want Leonard and Sydney to be together in the biblical sense (get it? they're both vicars!), but if neither of them can find a love interest that is worthy of them, then I am fine with them living together with the dog and the Mrs. until the end. Of course, Sydney will have to have an angsty tryst now and again, as well as shirtless yard work, but I kind of don't want any of them to get married now.
  19. Ugh, the gift card stuff just soured me on the whole episode, even Charlie The fact that they were stealing (under Ruby's encouragement) was bad enough, but way to throw your own mother under the bus, you brats! Seriously, Bow was clearly concerned about doing a good job and the kids knew that, and they went ahead and sabotaged her anyway. Imagine if word got around that the silent auction was full of empty gift card envelopes and how that would reflect on Bow (and the dumb kids themselves by association). I really wanted more of a punishment from Dre and big old guilt trip from Bow. I generally really like the kids (well, I'm lukewarm on Diane), but this was just blech.
  20. While I desperately hope that Jo has been banging DeLuca on the side, I wonder if she has applied to out of state programs now that her residency is almost over. Of course, the writers would have to remember that her residency is almost over and give her a specialty, so..,
  21. I know that all I do is complain about the writing...and, well, here I go again. I find it so odd, that of all of the characters who seem to be written the most differently these days, its three that have just about been there the longest: Meredith, Callie and Alex. You would think that the writers would have their backstories and personalities down by now, but they are the three who I think have been used most as the symbols of whatever issue Shonda is trying to promote (single motherhood, gun control, bullying and custody/biological parenting). The writers seem to take one aspect of their personalities and amplify it to 100 and then ignore the traits that made them most likeable and human, not to mention ignoring their histories. Not only is Meredith the mother to a daughter that is not hers biologically (whom she almost lost), she is a single parent and was raised by a mother who took her away from her father which the show has told us a million times, has made her very dark and twisty. I find it completely out of character for Meredith to choose either side, much less Callie's. Maybe something will happen next week and Meredith will come to her senses and try to get Callie to come to hers, but as of right now, this development makes absolutely no sense to me. Alex not choosing sides was in character, but I thought for sure that he would at least try to mediate a little bit, especially now that he has become so self-righteous and humorless. So do you mean to tell me that Owen and Amelia are having sex in the LIVING ROOM of a house where two other adults and three children live? Even though Amelia has a bedroom there? And Owen has his own place as well? Not to mention a car if they are that desperate for one another? I was completely grossed out by this and the jaunty music and Mer's jokes didn't make it any more palatable to me either. Must everyone (besides Perfect Penny, of course), have the maturity of a 15 year old? I think that the show is trying to have Stephanie be the anti-Izzie, but it really isn't working for me. But I did love her interactions with DeLuca. He is my new favorite and if Stephanie stays around, I wouldn't mind the two of them hooking up, or he can have a fling with Jo.
  22. Our British PBS channel (WETA-UK) is already airing season 5 and the first episode was pretty good. I just hope that Handsome Joe shows up one last time before the series ends!
  23. I read on Twitter that it wasn't actually the church that Japril got married in, it was actually the church where that patient friend of Jackson's got married (from the Japril centric episode). I don't know if its true or if that means anything. I am holding on to the hope that no way would Alex and Jo get married in a big church ceremony.
  24. Well, if they do a time jump between 23-24, then Nathan and Mer could kiss in 23 and enough time will have passed for her to care when Megan shows up in 24; April can have her baby under some sort of dire circumstance; Callie and Penny can leave in 23 and then Callie can come back in 24 if SR isn't leaving; Stephanie can get even more attached to Kyle just in time for him to die (funeral at the church) or *sigh* Alex and Jo can get engaged in 23 and then married in 24, without wasting any time for details like conversations. In other words, the majority of stuff that happens between 23 and 24 will be offscreen for most of the characters. With all of the time jumps, what year is it in Grey's time, 2017-2018? Owen and Amelia will still be figuring out their relationship and Jo, Stephanie and Ben will be in their 9th year of residency.
  25. It really either needs to be Kyle or some other kind of twist (Izzie dying offscreen). One more doctor at this hospital dying of anything other than suicide is just beyond soapy and venturing into complete stupidity, even for this show. I don't care if its Penny, Cross or some other almost never seen doctor, it is just beyond being even remotely believable at this point, so it HAS to be a patient. Apparently they have been shooting some of the finale in a church, so that could be a funeral (for Kyle or Megan or whoever) or a baptism for Japril's baby, which of course will require a timejump, which is also not the smartest thing for the writers to do, but it does seem like their go-to these days. Of course, I expect that April will be having her baby in the finale (also requiring a timejump) under the most dire circumstances imaginable, so it probably isn't a baptism.
