  1. Omg they were so annoying with it. See look Russia and Japan we have Alyssa. She is the future of USA skating. O look, she is training quads too. Well see, she is only 13 years old. She can do 3a's when most ladies can't. Look, see, she beat two 20 year olds. See look Russia and Japan remember the name Alyssa Liu. Ugh! I think Johnny said that was the most perfect 3a he had ever seen and the only one he has seen in ladies skating. What? Tara and Johnny are so annoying with everything. It's nails on chalkboard. Alyssa got lucky because Fed wanted Brandie or Mariah to win. She still has so much work to do. I don't think they called out her UR's did they? I hate getting on the hype machine. Especially with kids. Alyssa is 13 years old. We don't know the future. People thought Polina, Caroline, and Mirai were the next Michelle Kwan's. Look at what the hype did yo them? The Olympics are 3 years away. Stop with the hype and let these skaters grow and make mistakes. Can you explain why?
  2. Also, forgot to add congrats to Vanessa and Morgan from France. I love them. I'm happy for them too.
  3. Because she is from Russia, she is an Eteri skater, the OGM, and politics in figure skating sucks.
  4. The Eteri defenders are disturbing. Nobody can say anything bad about Eteri. She is the best ladies coach ever! What? Eteri had so many skaters who left her, had eating disorders, injuries, etc. Her Instagram and interview with Ted is nothing more than a PR move. I'm sure she knows how the West views her. That's the issue I was talking about before. In dance and gymnastics, teachers and coaches limit what an athlete can do. I doubt any good coach would have their athlete jump, jump, jump. Here, we limit jumps. More jumping means more injuries. Eteri believes in repetitions over and over everyday. That does not work. Especially for skaters after puberty and during puberty. Heck, every young kids shouldn't jump so much. This is why I'm worried about her 2 quad girls. Men don't jump quad after quad in training. I also read if her skaters fall she not only makes them jump more but on top of that, they must do their whole programs over and over again. I can't believe Alexandra and Anna are two years younger than Alina and Alena is less than a year younger than her. Russian ladies have a serious issue with keeping skaters through and after their teens but I doubt they care. They're winning. That's all that matters. Let's hope she does not ruin Alena or Kamilla.
  5. I wish she could train here. Especially with someone like RAF but Russian FED wouldn't support it. It's too expensive for them and it would be dumb to send one of their own to the USA to train. I want to hug this girl. I really do feel for her. Poor baby just needs a hug and some love. She is so wonderful too. Her own country hated that she won. Her coach treats her like trash. Now, she is being pushed away for the new Eteri skaters with quads. Poor Alina. I hope after Worlds she can take a nice long vacation
  6. I just watched Alina's program. Can someone just give this child a hug and maybe some icecream? My heart truly breaks for her. I don't know if Russia believes in sports psychology but I think it would help her. She has been beaten down so much I predict Alina will give Eteri flowers and Eteri will go on another bashing spree next season. I can't see how she will skate better with Eteri. It seems like 16/17 is the magic number for Eteri skaters to decline. I don't understand how yelling and screaming how horrible your skater did will help them. Especially teens.
  7. I'm so happy for Sofia. I feel bad for Alina. This season has been a struggle for her. My heart breaks for this poor girl. I don't think she will win worlds. I think she's injuried and Eteri just doesn't care enough to fix her skating. I am worried about her soon to be seniors. If Evgenia stayed, I don't think she would be skating
  8. I really hope they fix her 3a and other technical issues. I don't like the hype around her because she is only 13. So much can change. We have seen many skaters hyped up only to not live up to it. She has potential for sure Why were they allowed to do this crap? Where is US skating to stop this? Seriously.
  9. I hope Alyssa's coach and her father won't push her too hard. Especially with her 3a and quads. I cringe at the injury Mirai had doing her 3a. I agree. I just can't stop thinking about this whole mess while watching. USA fed need to take this seriously.
  10. I can't lie I like Kolyada. I wish he could work with RAF full time since he's already taking advice from him. He is definitely bringing something to Russian men skating. I will miss Yuzuru and Javi training together
  11. This is so sad. John killed himself. Nobody killed him. Seriously, I can't believe someone would do this crap. Death threats? Is the skating community similar to gymnastics? Lying and hiding crap for reputation and medals? I hope USA figure skating makes a statement. I read they require minors to travel with another adult with their coach. I can't even enjoy Javi right now because if what's going on.
  12. I watched a few videos of Alyssa. I'm not really into the hype. Well not yet. It seems like her dad is the one who is guiding and and is creating media buzz around her. She went to Brain Oser to work on her 3a and another coach to work on her quads. She has flaws in her skating and I hope she grows but creating all of this media buzz around her isn't good. Let her grow and skate for now. She isn't even on the JP circuit yet. I'm personally rooting for Starr and Mariah. It's a lot of things. Eteri's technique doesn't hold up. On top of that they do so many repetitions. Every single day. That's not good for the body at all. Here, coaches limit how often a skater can jump. You can't keep doing triples and quads every single day for 8 hours and not get an injury. Your body was not made to do that. You just can't. Alina has better technique than Evgenia but she also had flaws too. Both muscle their way through jumps and their programs. The main issue is with many Russian skaters especially Eteri is this, you have to change a skaters technique as they age and grow. You can't expect a skater to skate the same way every year when they're kids. Puberty is sometimes why some skaters quit. Body changes throw you off and it's harder to jump. These girls keep the same technique as they go through puberty and it does not work. You can't jump and skate the same way at 12 and 14 at 16 and 18. Your body changes. A coach should re work a skaters technique to deal with the changes. The issue is, this takes time. Look at Evgenia right now. I doubt Eteri would want to deal with that. She has younger skaters to deal with. I never expected Alina to deteriorate so fast. It's like after the Olympics she just deteriorated. Some of her current soon to be seniors are starting to have noticeable technique issues. Like Alena and her flat edge. It's harder to jump when you've gain weight and grew taller. Especially after puberty. Your center of gravity changes too. Eteri depends on fast rotation and keeping them skinny and tiny. She picks who she wants. Maybe she even looks at the parents to get an idea how tall a skater will be and their body type. I'm worried Anna and Alexandra will get injured. Especially with a stress fracture. Rika, I read she is taking it slow and her coach only wants her to work on quads during off season. She limits how much she can jump and wants to focus on her 3a. I wonder how these girls will hold up but I actually have a bit of faith in Rika than the Eteri girls. I wish everyone would look at how much stress these young girls are under instead of trying to push quads and push them to always win,win win. At what cost? Wow, I tried to look for TSL and it is gone. I hate this. This is why victims refuse to speak up because they're shamed and bullied. Reporters have a job. They report. That's their job. Literally.
  13. I'm not really a fan of TSL but this is ridiculous. Death threats? For speaking about the facts? The fact was John was being investigated. This is why many victims don't speak out and abusers get away with it for so long. We need to stop thinking someone we love and trust can't do something like this. Yes, it's shocking but we can't defend or hide it And what happened with Alina? Eteri's technique doesn't seem to work past 16/17 I guess. I never expected Alina to go down so fast like this. It's sad to watch. I'm worried her new senior won't last beyond a first season now. I'm trying to watch both Europeans and Nationals. Ugh. I'm going to miss Javi and Yuzuru together. They inspire and push each other in a loving way Also, can the media stop hyping up Alyssa Lui and other young skaters in the novice and intermediate division. Just let them skate and improve with time. They're not the next Michelle Kwan.
  14. I don't understand why Europeans and US nationals are at the same time. Ugh. I think US nationals should be at the beginning of January. I believe we're the latest ones to have nationals
  15. This. Exactly. I agree. Sadly, I think within the next few years we will see more victims cover forward. The fact that someone like Nikolia Morozov can still coach regardless is concerning. I see so many shaming the victims and defending the accuser. Regardless this need to be investigated. I'm a dance mom and sports mom. A dance teacher who coached and trained mega stars in the dance world was accused of raping and sexually abusing his students. It was shocking. He was a top dance teacher from a well know dance studio. He got away with it for years. USA FED has been a useless federation in my eyes. I hope they'll investigate this but they might throw it under the rug. What a way to start nationals right?
  16. Can anyone tell me is it possible to watch US nationals live without commentary?
  17. I don't believe quads will be the norm in ladies skating like men. It's sad quads are a requirement for the men because some shouldn't jump quads because they're terrible and others can't do quads. This year they do deduct points for falling on quads. Thank Goodness. As they should. I hate seeing quads just thrown in there just to get points. Kamilla Eteri's 12 yo almost junior skater looks beautiful. I wonder how this will work next season. 4 senior ladies and 3 junior skaters. Plus her boy skaters. Will they hire another choreographer? Team member?
  18. "We tell our kids you can do anything thelord calls you to do" Well Johanna wants to be a doctor. The lord is calling her to be a doctor Michelle
  19. Is she marking towards after birth or just regular people?
  20. They could've capitalized on their TLC fame but chose not to. They stuck with we are too godly for everyone. Heck, even the Robertsons from Duck Dynasty crashed in. John and Kate did too. The Duggars just stuck with fundies.
  21. These people are nothing but takers and scammers. At least this is better than Joy's marketing
  22. 40lbs in 9 weeks? Unless you're obese I don't see how that's possible if you're a normal weight
  23. I hope Jana if she is courting is what she wants. Not her parents. I hope and pray the guy is normal for her sakes.
  24. What happens if Jana sees something inappropriate? Will they yell Nike at her?
