  1. She might be a little tightly wound for him, but overall I liked these two a lot.
  2. In his intro he said something like, "where are all the interesting women!" and something about having high standards. Obviously, he's not looking for a nurse! He's probably had nurses flirting with him shamelessly since he was in medical school.
  3. Evidently, his strategy to be remembered is: bikini underwear.
  4. Yeah, and the NY Metropolitan area goes all the way to Pennsylvania! I'm hoping that the next guy from East Stroudsberg on Survivor doesn't claim to live in NYC!
  5. I almost forgot about So's proud words upon voting for Carolyn: "Because you're the lesser of two evils." Um, I bet the reason her assistants cried was because they had to edit sense into her memos.
  6. Well because New York, LA, and Chicago are the largest cities in the US, by population size. Boston is a distant 24th. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_population
  7. You about made my day with this. :)
  8. You mean he's better at "human to coconut" interactions? :)
  9. Yup, with a little more maturity, success with the ladies, and living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
  10. Is this the one who boasted something like, "There is no one on the planet who is mentally stronger than I am"? What is wrong with people? Do they have such a narrow scope of focus that they've never heard of, oh, you know, like prisoners of war or the Dalai Lama? I'm sure that being a single mom is hard, and that dressing hair requires unrivalled mental focus, but tone down the hyperbole, will ya?
  11. Whoever said they should make salt is right. Not just for taste, but more importantly to keep their electrolytes balanced with the potential dehydration/malnutrition.
  12. Yeah, in China, you'll see bamboo used to make scaffolding on construction sites -- many stories tall. Notable: Carolyn: For all the reasons previously mentioned I like her. That she understands that it's a game and understands how to game. Good on her. Jenn: Kept her head and her composure (aka ability to lie well) in the face of Vince's super-creepy stalker-ish behavior. Keeping your own counsel and controlling your revulsion can take you far on Survivor. Guy-who-ate-scorpion: Enjoy those 2 grams of pure protein, guy. Joe: Gets it done! And doesn't brag about it. My kind of Survivor. Has a Malcolm vibe, but less full of himself. Dan: Ugh. I guess it's great he's so confident in his body, as somebody said, but I felt like even the editors were embarrassed. Like they showed him full frontal to us, but then kind of focused more from the chest up. I confess, I started out with a bad attitude about him based on his TH: "you will remember me!" Get over yourself. Max: Seems to have good instincts but the problem with smart people on Survivor is that they often can't help themselves showing off how smart they are (cf: I would have lied way better). Still, I'm a sucker for a guy with his look/demeanor/smarts. Also, I like people who are thrilled to be there. Guy-with-the-dead-sister: Who tattoos a long text under their arm so that to show it off, the other person has to duck down and basically put their nose in your armpit? I really want his sister to be alive and for him to be that stupid that he made that tattoo just to get chicks. Tyler: Needs to keep a check on his smug face/side-eye at TC. That could pose a problem for you. Or maybe it was just one face, and the editors kept showing it to us. I like his cute plaid shirt, though. and finally... Vince: Sigh. So much already said. I'd say "what a maroon" but he might actually be a danger out there. You may know that in the Caribbean, say in the Bahamas, these guys will walk up and down the beach selling coconuts to people sunbathing. They basically have a cart of coconuts, and then they machete the top off, add rum, put a straw in and hand it to you. I'm guessing that is what he does.
  13. This guy might be my favorite going in, on the strength of this alone:
  14. From her bio: I guess we should be worried about her family.
  15. Wow. She seems like an actual, thoughtful person.
  16. I just read her profile and it reads like a computer was used to select phrases and words randomly from all previous Survivor profiles, and threw them together regardless of meaning. Either she's punking us or she is one big messy bag o' cliches.* *personally, I'm betting on the bag
  17. There is something incongruous and depressing about seeing both "Youtube sensation" and "father and husband" in the same profile.
  18. The whole Benjamin/Sonjia fabric thing was so ridiculous. If he had already decided to use that fabric and was ready to buy it, he should have. Then it would have been her problem to decide if she wanted to use the same fabric he had just chosen. Ugh, how be bugs. I also hated the condescending tone with which he was shown saying "It's so cute how excited Gunnar is to be out of the country for the first time ever," or whatever it was. Geez, cut the guy a break, he was only expressing joy.
  19. This is the most-common failing of Twitterites - since your friends laugh like hyenas at the comments you make when you're together, you assume the whole world deserves to be in on the joke or benefit from your opinion/wisdom as the case may be. When will people learn that nobody outside of their circle gives a f*ck?
  20. Haha, me too! It's when I get my chores done. How times have changed since the original recipe PR, no?
  21. The Samantha that Alyssa introduced was Justin's sign-language interpreter, and she was sitting behind Alyssa. The designer Samantha was sitting in the front row with the other designers.
  22. I actually think Dmitry is a vampire. And that is just fine with me. :) I think his pot-leaf dress looked great on Alyssa (and so did Sonjia's gold dress), but women who wear shorter skirts should really think about that side-thigh thing they expose when they sit down and cross their legs. You don't even have to be heavy for that to be unsightly. Like if she had crossed her legs the other way, relative to the camera, it would have been a lot better. OK, that's my PSA for the day, ladies! Finally: STFU, Michelle. No one cares.
  23. I'm so glad Dmitry won. Not least because of the way he presented himself on the runway. Helen and Sonjia both looked like 12-year-olds on their first date! And, most cringeworthy of all they BOTH said that their collections were inspired by themselves. Is this a new thing among the young? To be inspired by one's own self? The horror. I was actually thinking, "Designers should not speak," when Dmitry came out and made everything OK.
