  1. This is where my frustration with it lies. I think if there was a 4th season I’d be more inclined to see where these side stories are going. But since there’s only 4 episodes left, they are running out of time. Roy clearly needs to get his shit together, but that should have happened 4 episodes ago. Ted makes progress but now is back being consumed by what his ex is doing. Colin just now is having the team find out he’s gay. Slow burns are fine if you’ve got the time, they don’t. Unless they are going to say psyche! We’re doing #4! Which at this point I’m not sure is a good thing. It hasn’t been terrible, and some parts have been extremely good. But this is where they should be bringing it home, spending time with the characters we’ve come to love. Yet we get Jack, Shandy, Jade, Zava far more than we’ve seen Sam. And even Roy has been relegated to a side character for most of the time. They’ve made the most of the time they are on but it’s been far too little of the things that make the show great.
  2. While this is the more likely scenario, I’d love if Keeley was like “Fuck your funding.” and ends on her own terms and gets back the being The Independent Woman.
  3. I still think Roy and Keeley get back together despite him asking the worst question at the worst time. Jamie is going to be the one to reunite them. He loves his grandad too much to get back together with her. But whatever happens can the real Keeley show up? Season 1 and 2 Keeley would have handled the leak herself. Hopefully she realized while Jack was fun, it was always what Jack wanted her to do. I did love her talk with Rebecca though, that’s a true friend. I agree that despite nearly 8 hours of the season very little has happened. If this is the last time we get to spend with these characters, let’s get to the happy stuff already!
  4. Still don’t care about Nate and Jade or Keeley and Jack. Sure Jack backed off when Keeley asked, for now. It’s all flashy, which is fine, but it’s not the deep relationship she had with Roy (we know is going there so get fucking to it FFS) Jack mentioned getting jealous and when a character has to announce they aren’t crazy, they absolutely end up being crazy. However I did like when Rebecca warned Keeley about the love bombing, Keeley didn’t get defensive and upset, so that is one good thing. Rebecca doesn’t seem to like Jack at all. And not in a “you’re stealing my BFF away” but like she said, shiny things fade. Even if Jack isn’t evil like Rupert, it’s like Keeley is her pet. Now onto things I absolutely loved, which was everything else. Trent Crimm going full geeky dork, absolute perfection. He’s been the highlight of the season, along with Jamie and Will. How fun those screens as Beard must have been to do! He totally nailed it. The Lasso was is FINALLY coming together and I’m here for it. I don’t care about how realistic it is. I want them to win the whole fucking thing and Ted decide his work there is complete. And everything with Sam was delightful, and his dad was everything they set him up to be. The end at the restaurant was great. Maybe Ola’s is the spin off? I’d find that more engaging than KJPR. And Sam and the chef are totally dating, Ola gave her the same look he did Rebecca. The last two episodes have felt like classic Ted Lasso, save for everything Keeley. I’m just sad the wasted half the season to get there.
  5. In the Midwest, even non-fundies are turning to homeschooling in droves. Between COVID and all the “public schools are child groomers” propaganda, local public schools are now villains. We’re going to have a whole crop of poorly educated children. It’s sad. My mom has been asked more than once where my kids go to school by people in her church if I’m investigating what is really being taught since we public school. I’m not even religious and I’m in my 40’s yet people in a church I haven’t been to since I was 18 seem to think they have a right to question my decision to have my kids in public school. And this wasn’t a church that when I was growing up pushed homeschooling. Given how Jill was raised, I can see how she would go back to what she knows if people around her were also pulling their kids. Dereck should absolutely know better but his mom seems like the type that would definitely believe all the propaganda. It’s sad. The best I can hope for is it’s just for this year. The kids are bright and with work they’ll catch up if they go back.
  6. I know Juno Temple has a lot of other things going on, so maybe some schedule conflicts is why she’s been so separate from the rest. But this episode really highlighted how much the KJPR story sucks all the air out of the room. Will is Higgins Jr, it was great to see that unexpected and sweet pairing. Will being very into the club was cute and I’m glad Higgins had his version of fun. Since Nate told Colin he was a hotel painting I’ve wanted to see him rise up. It’s time Strong and Capable Man. And now that he has a bridge between his two lives with Trent, I hope he gets his wish. I’m totally convinced now Roy and Keeley do reunite. Rebecca is totally Team Roy, and while they’ve hinted maybe Keeley might still be into Jamie, Jamie wouldn’t do that to his granddad bro. I’m glad Roy didn’t seem bothered that Keeley was with a woman, he was just sad she moved on. I loved everything about he and Roy’s bicycle adventure. Rebecca looked amazing in that pink dress and yes it was hot! It was definitely implied he had a daughter so I don’t think they’ll go a surprise non-consensual pregnancy line. Finally, I’m glad Ted is finally ready to coach. Beard was right, he needed to just clear his mind. I do hope we get to see his reaction when he finds out the team had a pillow fight. This was great. Time to close things out the second half of the season (which, was any of it necessary?)
  7. So did Will join that couple or no?
  8. I don’t have strong feelings either way about Ted and Rebecca ending up together romantically (although I don’t think I could be with someone my friend was very recently sleeping with) but I think they could do a more ambiguous ending where it could go either way. But I can’t see her in Kansas.
  9. Not sure where it’s going but it’s going to come out and I can’t imagine Barbra is going to be all “awwww isn’t that cute” about it. She’s just warming up to Keeley and this will just really undermine her credibility with someone like Barbra. And this is why I fucking hate this story line. Last season Keeley was always smart, competent, had her stuff together. Barbra doesn’t know that person. I understand they are trying to show Keeley is struggling with the breakup and her new job but I feel that they could have shown her struggling yet still the person she used to be.
  10. What a bizarre flex. Does she think non-Christians only have coke fuled orgies or something?
  11. Sorry that was a BAD phone autocorrect. I absolutely do NOT think you must birth a child to be a mother. Fucking autocorrect.
  12. Barbra refered to Jack as “our boss” and in the beginning of the episode when they were deciding to expand or stay small, it seemed like Jack had the final say. So for the purposes of this show, Jack seems to have some level of control over the business, whether or. It that is typical is more relevant, they have chosen to put Jack in a position of power. It’s not as clear cut as a typical boss/employee relationship, but it’s definitely a very bad idea to have a rebound fling with the investor if you’re very new and not financially sound company. There’s not many ways out of this that end well. Prior to the start of the season I had weird vibes from whomever the investor was, and while Jack seems cool, Rebecca told Keeley how Rupert pulled her in by being charming. Keeley is becoming increasingly isolated from Rebecca, it was intentional to show her missing two calls from her. Either her and Jack are to be together, or it ends. The best outcome would be for them to decide it was bad idea and just move on, or that Keeley is still in love with Roy and Jack let’s it go on and doesn’t pull her investment, but that seems unlikely.
  13. Rebecca is not pregnant. She was late meeting the psychic. She didn’t tell Keeley because she was embarrassed about even going. The psychic said she’d have a family/be a mother. That does mean pregnant and giving birth. She and Sam ended things what would be several months ago now and there’s been zero indication she’s been with anyone else in the interim. Like PP said she was there to see if getting pregnant at her age was even possible.
  14. Totally agree but let’s fucking get to that part! I was expecting things to start progressing forward this episode but maybe now it will after Ted’s speech. But if next week it’s more if the same…they are running out of time to wrap all of this up. I still think he and Keeley get back together. They spent far too much of the series setting them up, and in the 3rd act say “Remember that lovley relationship we spent all that time on? Fuck that, it’s over with, here is a random new person, the end” I also think that Jack is a bit of a too good to be true “Cool Girl”, but maybe a Rupert in disguise? I don’t know I just don’t see this ending well and I just hope they wrap it up soon. The KJPR island is not that interesting, and if that’s the spin off, I’ll happily pass.
  15. I agree this episode was all over the place. Not surprised about Keeley and Jack but DON’T FUCK YOUR BOSS! I do not think they are the end game in any way. That’s still her and Roy and if they aren’t it will join HIMYM in shows I will forever hold a grudge against. Everything with Keeley seems like it’s a different show and my patience with that is wearing thin. I am glad Zava is gone, he was just too much and I really want Colin to be a hero. And Jamie. And Sam. And Issac. And Dani…even Jan Maas. The one think I did like was Ted finally being a coach at the end and Higgins and Rebecca’s chat. Hopefully things start getting more cohesive. I feel like they have way too many plots going on.
  16. Easter is for lovers. But for real, that was definitely a Jillpm directed kiss. I’m certain the only time we ever kissed in the presence of our parents was at our wedding. I cannot kiss on command without laughing uncontrollably. I just feel ridiculous. But all the married fundies must do performative make out sessions for all to see for some reason. It’s so hypocritical because they scream about Disney “grooming” children, yet fundies talk about their kids purity and future spouse quite literally from birth.
  17. I know we’re still in the dark forest and I agree with others, it is definitely intentional. Everyone (maybe not Sam) is miserable in some way, and while I trust it will work out, I’m getting impatient! We’ve had about 4 hours of set up so far, every episode just throws more problems and new people into the mix. I’m hoping now everything is in place so they can start making progress and we can feel mucho mucho joy again soon.
  18. Yeah I can get behind a Trent and Rebecca pairing. Maybe it was just me but I thought in episode 2 she gave him a bit of a look. I like that far more than Ted or Sam.
  19. I do think Ted and Michelle would have ended up divorced regardless of who their marriage counselor was, but an impartial one would have been able to make Ted feel less at fault. He was right, he was kind of gained up on, even if it was unconscious feelings at that time driving that. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds for sure. I will say one nice thing about Dr Jake, his impression wasn’t that bad. But I’m guessing he’s never going to blind answer a phone call like that again.
  20. Ted was calling from his work landline to Michelle’s landline. He didn’t have his phone and he didn’t remember her cellphone number.
  21. Shandy is going to join The Dark Side West Ham with Nate and Rupert. I have a feeling something she does is going to blow up and when Keeley try’s to Lasso her, she’s not going to have it and leave. Just not getting good vibes there at all.
  22. I don’t think the “Zava is just weird but not toxic” isn’t going to last very long. Right now, save for Jamie, they all are in the honeymoon phase with him, but eventually they’ll tire of just following him. Like him telling Sam avocados aren’t apart of West African cuisine…yet. Shandy is annoying and her thing seems to just be outrageous. At some point I feel her advice or actions is going to cause harm. She was rude to Roy. Yeah he broke up with her and as a friend it’s fine to be “WTF dude”, but they obviously both still care very much for each other, and Shandy wasn’t around during their relationship. If feel she likes drama and that’s going to be a problem. Speaking of Roy and Keeley, OMG just get back together already! Although Brett is an amazing fucking actor. The way he looked when she passed him in the hall, you could feel the hurt. (To be fair I don’t think Keeley saw him) Hopefully there’s no only a few more episodes of the longing glances before they reunite. Roy training Jamie is going to be a riot. And Jamie being correct, twice? Who is this guy? LOL. I think Ted knew Michelle was dating someone else, but that someone else being their marriage counselor, and spending lots of time with Henry is a lot different than his casual hookups with Sassy. If it was just some random guy I think he’d not be in panic mode. But I’m glad he’s taking to Dr Sharron. And as someone who didn’t get how she fit in at the start of last season, we need more of her ASAP. Sam and the chef were really hot in their brief interactions. Hopefully the whole green matchbook is a temporary misdirection. This show does have a habit of doing that. Trent, you just keep sweet Colin’s secret in that glorious hair of yours. It’s going to come out, but hopefully Colin gets to do it on his terms. He is a strong and capable man.
  23. I’m not sure how that leads to Ted and Keeley being soulmates. To me that was basically confirming Roy and Keeley end back up together. Roy quit too soon with Chelsea and right now is doing the same thing with Keeley, but as Ted alluded to, this time can be different. And I’m sorry but I don’t get the obsession with the teacher and what’s so interesting about her that people want more of her. I mean whatever but I just don’t believe a character with no first name is who Roy ends up with. FYI, Liza (the “plenty of fish in the sea” card sender) is the staff person keeping the Ice Bucket Challenge alive.
