Did killing the NK unmark Bran? Because if he still has that mark doesn't that make the NK still possible as in Bran can turn into one? They never even showed his arm afterwards. What a mess.

An example which is crucial is how long it took to get places was part of the plot w/Martin and now they're jet packing, which makes the earlier seasons' long travels as problematic to reach people as weird. Arya is key here, think of her going to the Wall, getting stuck at Harrenhal, not making to the Twins by time of Red Wedding (which probably saved her life). Wanting to go to the Wall, but having to go to Bravos instead because that's where the ship captain was going. Getting to the Eyrie too late, when her aunt was dead. Bran! long Travels to the wall, and beyond the wall. All of Season 3 was just traveling from Winterfell to get to go beyond the Wall.

Really, if tonight's episode is called "Mad Queen on a Ledge" or something, I might hurt a D.

Tonight's Episode should be called "The Last Dragon" re: Dany/Drogon and a little Jon. But, really Dany if she goes Mad Queen. They already did "Fire and Blood" in first season, unless they try to pull a Lannistereque title. Last episode, should be "A Time for Wolves", alternate title for "A Dream of Spring."

I've always hated what happened to Bran w/this whole 3Raven, losing his personality and losing his POV in the book? I think actually Bran will be the last POV in the books w/maybe an epilogue after? To reflect how the story began. Maybe it will be though a "Tree-God's view" POV. Which I find depressing AF.

I don't remember where I read this, but didn't GRRM say at least once that whoever finally got the Iron Throne would be insignificant? I have to find the quote. Having said that, I don't believe Bran is insignificant, D&D just don't know how to show his story properly. Which is a huge disappointment. He's a Stark, Bran the Broken, one of so many Brandon Starks. I love this kid and find his story tragic and I'd like to see him someone shake off this 3-eyed Raven-ness if that was possible.

I think Bran gets short shrift in the show. He's, to me, one of the most tragic characters in the story. I love Jaime, but he pushed this sweet kid, who wanted to be a knight, out a window and crippled him. Then this whole 3-eyed raven thing to what? lose his humanity? I find his story depressing. He was a kid who wanted more and then gets this download of info that makes him lose Bran. So, if he ends ups being the King, that's something. I don't know, I just think of the end of book 2 Clash of Kings, and it makes me want to cry. Bran is leaving his destroyed home of Wintefell, and he thinks he's broken, but not dead.

I really don't understand Tyrion's motivation to help Cersei in any way. The meeting before they defeated the NK, so they defeated him. Why? someone please explain best they can.

Totally annoyed me. Because of logistics and mother favoritism or something. If if was Avery's house, then he'd stay? Just so dumb, he's tired of dealing with her crap and he doesn't know if she's going to disappear again, but leave the kid w/her? Just bad writing. I'd rather he just stay there and they deal with awkwardness. That's more interesting anyway because they would have scenes together and like talk. Whatever.

Yeah, only 3 left so it's easy, but all the pieces are just pieces, no cohesiveness. Daphne's story isn't bad, but it's still weird the way they pretend sort of that Deacon is her father. I love their relationship, but it's like the writers just ignore things like the fact that Juliette and Avery are not married. Yes, they're a couple, but they're divorced and she should not be alone with the kid after her antics to put it mildly. And I want them together, but there's no time as you said. Just, suckage.

I don't understand this direction considering they have creator Callie around. Every writer should know fans don't like newbies unless they're brought in w/main characters in a meaningful way. I know they didn't know they were cancelled until filming of episode of 5, but the Juliette story is horrible as well. And they're seeing it through which I guess you have to, but the way they had Juliette all of a sudden decide-wait this is wrong? It makes it look like Avery is weirdly in the wrong because she's so calm and reasonable coming back, but it doesn't work and I want them back together. However, with 3 episodes left, this is going to be awkward and slapdash.

I understand it's awkward, but Avery should've either stayed or taken Cadence with him. Juliette just shows up and he trusts her to be Cadence's custodial parent? I hate the instant favoritism of mother over father, especially considering legally Juliette's parental rights were terminated as part of their divorce. Do the new writers realize that? Do they care? Also, they're not married anymore, I'm sick of the Nashville CMT twitter feed telling me they are when they're not. Also, as others have said, your show is ending, I know you started stories in the first half and didn't know you were being cancelled, but newbies before regulars is never a good look. As per usual, Avery is shunted to the side for not only Juliette, but his purple hair quasi-girlfriend? She has a more substantial story than he does with this Brad story? He's always on the side of things despite being one of the better actors on the show. It's exhausting and I'm FFing almost everything.

Re: Juliette/Avery I really don't want to see another show have the couple not get back together because it would be unrealistic or they moved on, whatever. See Switched at Birth Bay and Emmett. I have an idea, just write the couple and their problems better. I don't have a problem with Avery being "done" because it's been a long time coming. I even liked the convo with Alanah? when she said she was ashamed, and maybe Avery feels the same way. That was good, I don't like the idea of them hooking up, but it's fine if it's just temporary. But, problem: there's only 8 episodes left, so I can't see the writing for this going forward as good overall. They'll be moments of goodness I'm sure, but overall, we'll be like, what?? Also, I think it was a mistake to do the Juliette part of the story as her being off-screen this much with cult thing. They could've done it a different way, still the depression, distance, but no cult. She just takes off like she does, and no sexual abuse memory recovery. We already heard end of S2, when Juliette cheated on Avery, about her questionable interactions with Mama's men that might be, in fact, sexual abuse. Just revisit that I don't know. Daphne stuff is good, but I'm in no mood for reality show bullshit with Brad going forward.

Oh, I hope this is true! Because it just works and the set-up is so there. I don't want to see Gunnar and Scarlet reunion, please. Avery/Juliette: I see them back together by end of series, but it will feel rushed because they only have 9 episodes left total.

Yeah...okay. Um, terrible, cliched, we all called that bullshit on the cult. And what bothers me is Showrunners acting all, oh, you Twitter people are complaining about a cult that sort of helps Juliette. It's like, we know what this is asshole...and your writing sucks. Now Avery is going to have to waste precious screen time extricating Juliette from this tired crap? Get out, my brother, get out. Maybe when they came up with this dumb story they didn't know they were being cancelled, but just terrible, no excuse. For a minute, I was afraid that guard was going to throw Avery in a cell. I guess I should be relieved. Did it feel like Deacon was not belittling, but underestimating Daphne's talent? That Brad guy may be a dick, but he can be a dick and recognize Daphne's talent at the same time, can't he? It seemed Deacon was annoyed at the "stepdad" mention? Well, at least they acknowledged Teddy in a half-assed way. Gunnar, please. I wanted you to be bi and secretly in love with Will Alannah, bye. Will, this story is dumb. I wanted Gunnar to be in love with you, you sweet "gay cowboy." Show, whatever. You have 9 episodes to fix this mess, especially the Juliette crap. Finally, Avery and the actor who plays him deserves so much more than background vocals and tears for his wife, ex-wife, mother of his child, reason for breathing (was that writing or an ad-lib? because that was the best part of the episode).

Yeah it's repetitive and seems lame and not very entertaining. The hope I have is that the repetitive nature of both stories has a purpose as to finally solve the characters' issues. My dream for Gunnar is that he and Will became a couple and his starting things up with women so quickly is some sort of defense mechanism to avoid his feelings for men or Will in particular in this case. I don't want it to be about Scarlet. Dude, I FF'd all her scenes from this episode. As for Avery/Juliette drama, it's exhausting and this cult story is boring. I hate that sexual abuse was added in as well, but again if they work on solving the problem ultimately in an entertaining way, I'm fine with it. The problem is this: when they created these stories they didn't know they were being cancelled, told cast on episode 5 set, so I could see a truncated resolution that's not satisfying necessarily in the back 8. Also, I love the Daphne story, but find it a big gaping plot hole that Teddy is never mentioned. It's ironic that Deacon and Daphne, not related by blood, will ultimately be the two that will spend the most time together as Daphne is still only 14. Deacon is essentially raising Rayna and Teddy's daughter which is fine, but where the hell is Teddy? I'd love just a mention as in more was added on to his sentence or he's in a halfway house or he just didn't contact Daphne and Deacon is trying to protect her. Something would be nice as it's hard to concentrate on the scenes when I know this is bullshit. Still, good character stuff with them.

And in an interview with TV line, I think, one of the showrunners noted reaction on Twitter from fans not liking the cult thing, and he was, like, it's more complicated than that because Darius did help Juliette with the reveal of her being raped as a child. But, there's a tone-deafness in not getting why we don't like the cult on its face, as put eloquently by CrystalMoon above. It eats into story real estate, the plot's a problem, but eating into the 40+ minutes we get a week is a problem. Same thing with intro of new girl, who is fine, but a new person I have to care about who will eat into the 3 guys' time with this story. And for Avery, the character, and the actor, seemingly, is always pushed to the side, when he is one of the best actors on the show. At first, I loved him being linked with Juliette, beginning end of S1, but it puts him into a support role and him having to give up his music multiple times. How does the same thing not happen now? And due to the backstory created of Juliette being raped as a child, if Avery turns away now, he'll not look so great even though Juliette has screwed him time and again. They didn't know S6 was last season when breaking these stories, but they must've had a clue that show wasn't going to run for 8+ or something. I really believe because new showrunners didn't start until S5, they don't really get how repetitive this stuff is with Juliette. But, of course, maybe they do since they're looking for basis of her behavior? I don't know. At the end of the day, I just don't like the story. Can't force us.

From what I heard they didn't know it was the final season until this episode was filming. I don't know if we'll see any kind of weird u-turn in the stories with last 3 before break, but we definitely should in final 8. It just sucks thought because from everything I read Nashville helped CMT, but then Nashville got axed because network wants to be more reality-based? Other than being cheaper, who cares about other people's reality? I enjoy watching fictional shows personally instead of some taped faux reality show. However, not knowing it's final season or not doesn't excuse Darius. Just repetitive and bullshit.

I feel bad for Avery as he has to balance dealing with Juliette's painful revelation off-screen (that was annoying) in an understanding manner, while on the other hand Darius/cult is weird/wrong, and Juliette not really supporting him ever regarding his career and what's going on with his gigs/tour right now. It may make him appear selfish, but I think the character has to be at this point, a healthy selfish, and hopefully they can work it out in final 8 episodes. I'd hate the show to end with them apart. Too bad no S7.

That's one of the things that bothers me about this sexual abuse/cult story: less focus on Avery and more focus on Juliette, her problems, and Avery as support and/or being against cult/against Juliette. It's tired, and if they had more seasons (even just one more), I could deal with the ensuing pain/angst better. But., there's no time for much after this story as it has to develop, and Juliette will have to heal for real. I assume she and Avery will kind of sort of break up and then reunited in back half. But, so much time will be spent on Juliette's problems and now if Avery is not 100% supportive due to his lack of trust in Darius, he'll look like the bad guy for not supporting Juliette when he has supported her all along. I feel like the truth/basis for Juliette's pain is revealed and it will look like Avery is not interested, maybe because he's finally had it? I don't know, all I know is a lot of show real estate will be spent on this story and there isn't time for much else beyond for Avery/Juliette. I've said this in another post, but it feels like the showrunners don't realize how repetitive and thus, exhausting this Juliette stuff is. Of course, this acts as final reveal for the basis of Juliette's behavior, but I hate retconning, especially with newer showrunners. Sexual abuse history is believable, but it feels like a cookie cutter explanation for all that is Juliette.

I'm not a fan of a sexual abuse storyline direction for this show for Juliette. It makes sense considering her history, but I just don't want this for her or for Avery. And why did it have to be so elaborate and throwing her Mom under the bus completely? She wasn't a good Mom, but Juliette loved her. Why not make it organic, just one of her Mom's many boyfriends in the trailer instead of selling her to some "Uncle" creep thing. It's horrible no matter what, but I just don't want this story. And I don't want this cult being a good thing, you know revealing truths, helping. Also, why does Avery never get his own story? He either supports Juliette or is part of this group, but not the standout. Will has his own story of body image. Also, I want more for Daphne than just hanging out with her future stepbrother.

I want to defend it, but the writing on this show officially sucks. This episode was a bloody mess. John Wells said fans would hate Ian's story, did he mean because the writing for it sucks or the plot itself? My brain hurts. I don't see them turning this around next episode, the finale. Also, Lip, who's been written the best this year, his story with Sierra and the dad, no thanks. I actually felt ill and sorry for Debbie and that ridiculous toe issue. It wasn't funny. Some series have bad seasons, the first few episodes were good, and this is it for sure. Weird this happened right after Netflix got streaming rights and show became late popular.
