  1. Criminey, the locations are spectacular. I literally (no, really) gasped at that enormous white room with the plasterwork that Pierre and... somebody pedi-conferenced in to. It was maybe on screen for 30 seconds. How does one get to be a location scout? Where do I sign up?

I've never read W&P, but this does seem like the Cliffs Notes version, which, given only eight hours of run time, I suppose it must. Some of the relationships could have been made a bit clearer (is Stephen Rea's prince related to Pierre somehow?), but I just gloss over it and assume everyone is everyone else's cousin, however distant.

Dano and Rea are walking away with this and not looking back. Poor, dreamy James Norton, given a character who's is all interior and directors telling him to smile less. What's an actor to do? Good thing he looks great in those sumptuous costumes.

I'm watching this on Lifetime, and every commercial break is an arghh...

I found out when I downloaded it on demand, (I have Direct TV), that the commercials are gone. There's only a pregnant pause briefly where commercials used to be.

  2. I know that I'm naive but I had to google some of the dialog online between guru Wendy and Mike. They were talking about … well, his particular sexual proclivities. Mike likes a sex act that many consider demeaning (ass to mouth). He claims he likes it because it's about accepting all of him, even his dirty kinks. Wendy calls him out pretty quickly, noting how doing it fulfills his need for dominance.

  3. I'm 'sort of, kind of' liking this series, it seems to get better each week as most do. But I do have a problem with the acting of Paul Giamatti. Oh he's a great actor, not doubt about it. My problem with him comes from the fact that he always seems to perform in the same way no matter what character he's playing. Whether he's wearing a business suit or the hat of a Statesman from the 1700's, he just releases the same passion and intensity, there's no variation of acting style no matter what the role is. It's for this reason alone that I really didn't want to watch this series and only caught up on demand after skipping the first two episodes.

I was also turned away initially because I was tired of Damian Lewis from Homeland. I was relieved when he was killed off that series. But the angst and torturous expressions on the face of Claire Danes got to me too, and I stopped following Homeland. But Damian Lewis at least plays this character for what he's supposed to be. A savvy, successful Wall Street hedge fund king. I can buy that because he's believable.. And, I haven't heard his British accent come through even once yet.

I think the series might be more popular for people living on either the East or West coasts. I just don't see how people in the mid-West could relate to anything to do with Wall Street and hedge fund moguls. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

  4. We're bound to be subjected to the "Girlfriends" song that Kendall, Kim and Kourtney are recording for Kris's birthday bash. I know it's going to be worse than the original one that Kris made in 1985 when she turned 30. (Although I honestly can't imagine it being worse). If anyone has missed watching that video, I'll put it here. There's a lot of people in that video that are recognizable. Worth mentioning is at minute 3:15 is Alex Roldan, the hairdresser that Kris used at the time that was rumored to be the father of Khloe. Right after Alex, is Robert Kardashian who also produced the video, then O.J. Simpson. The rolling credits at the end give Kourtney, Kimberly and Khloe acknowledgment for the lyrics. I doubt they wrote the lyrics for that video since the three girls were just six, five and one year old at the time. Kris got an early start on managing her daughters. Rob was only 4 years old when Kris divorced Robert and married Bruce a month after the divorce was final. A ver impressionable age for sure. No wonder he got so emotionally messed up.

  5. Khloe and Kim both looked like orange oompah-loompah's in this particular segment.

    2016-02-01-kuwtk.jpg

Way, way, way WAY too much orange spray tan. And Khloe, it's not the spray tan that makes a person look thinner. It's the loss of body fat that does. Just ask Kim, she certainly didn't look any thinner being orange.

  6. But how would she not notice her car was missing for a week or however long that takes?

Kris might have been driving one of her other cars during that week like one of her two $250,000 Mercedes G SUVs or her $200,000 Bentley Continental sedan. Who would miss a Range Rover for one week with those alternatives?

  7. It's late and I haven't had enough time to digest this episode but first impressions will do for now.

First, Kris and Corey. I am not buying this 'romance' in any way. Corey works for Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun. Kris and Corey met in Spain at designer Riccardo Tisci's 40th birthday party back in August in Ibiza, which J.B. attended, too. Corey seems like a really sweet guy but I don't believe for a minute there's a real romance between him and Kris. Watch them interact when they're alone together. She never looks him in his eyes when he's talking to her. Notice when he goes in for a kiss she does it laughing and they both turn their faces to the left. I don't know what that means exactly but people usually turn their heads to the right to plant a kiss on someone. I think Corey is being paid a good salary to provide Kris with a 'love interest' to save face from losing her husband because he wanted to live as a woman. A woman like Kris has an ego larger than life and having her husband leave her to get some happiness is a huge blow to that ego.

I just don't feel any genuine feelings between Corey and Kris. He's sure trying, but she's not buying.

Second point is this friend of Kris's, Heather McDonald. She's been seen in a few episodes and she was also on the Jeff Lewis show 'Flipping Out'. He was redecorating her home. Heather McDonald's name was also mentioned in ET news last week. Heather was a writer on the now defunct Chelsea Lately talk show. Last week, Heather McDonald appeared on Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss’ podcast, Allegedly, where she discussed her time as a writer on E!'s Chelsea Lately talk show from 2007-2014. At one point, McDonald admitted she "100 percent lived in fear" while working on the show. McDonald's remarks prompted Handler to fiercely defend herself. The TV host appeared on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show with her own claims that McDonald had leaked stories about her personal life to a magazine while working on the show. So, Heather McDonald is one of those fame and publicity seeking friends of Kris Jenner that will be showing up more and more.

Third comment is all snark and no substance. Kim's breasts have had those dark blue veins for a long time and in this episode she said she just hates them. I have a great idea for Kim, cover those with clothes. There....done.  Kim's 'special' doctor besides her gynecologist did not impress me at all. I'm a medical person and while Kim was having an ultrasound done by this special doctor, I noticed that the doctor barely touched Kim physically. Kim complained that she had gained 10 pounds in a week, the doctor wasn't too concerned. And when Kim complained that her feet and legs were extremely swollen, the doctor passed her hands up Kim's foot and legs but never checked for edema (swelling). Quote; "a little bit is normal but always keep an eye on it". What the hell kind of medical advice is that? Edema of the feet and legs is a diagnostic tool and pressing into the swelling and gauging the degree of edema is important in determining the cause. Edema could be caused by many different things, but the 10 pound weight gain also indicates that in addition to baby weight, Kim had an excessive amount of fluids built up in her tissues. Not a good thing. Her special doctor should have warned her to eliminate any excessive salt in her diet which would include the spicy, salty cheese and chili she dumped on her taco salad.

  8. I hope that in upcoming episodes we won't be seeing episodes with friends of the Housewives as part of the regular occurring cast. I'm hoping that nobody else gets the idea that since Kyle seems to have been given special privilege to bring in her friend Faye Resnick that the others don't want the same privilege and start bringing in their own girlfriends. They'll have to change the name of the show to 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Friends'

  9. I think Kim's makeup looked nice, but the hairstyle is a little juvenile for a woman in her mid 30s and the outfit is absurd (as usual). North looked cute.

It appears there's been a trend for wearing hair tightly pulled up and either braided or in a top knot. Kim has been criticized in social media for putting North's hair in a too-tight top knot. The most recent example of tightly pulled hair is Kaley Cuoco and her sister at the SAG awards yesterday. It's known as a 'ponytail lift' because it tightens the skin, lifts the cheeks, and elevates the brow. It's a Hollywood tool to appear younger by pulling the hair up tight. Kourtney, Kim and Khloe have all used this trick to make their face uplifted and younger looking. Go ahead, give it a try on yourself, you'll see how it lifts.

  10. The only question is when will they start to turn on one another? Rob is already fair game for mocking by Kim and with Kris's tacit approval with her big old laugh at his expense. Who will be next?

I think they've already started to turn on each other. I can see the friction and almost dislike (for a milder word for hate) of Kris by Khloe and Kendall. There's definite friction between Kim and Rob.  Of course Kris will put on her TV face for the cameras but I'm sure she can't stand being near Caitlyn. I think there's enough bitterness in that family to have cause some deep seated resentments.

  11. "Y'all got no respect for me. I gotta tie my shoes. Let me tie my Yeezys."

Isn't tying the laces on $600 sneakers on everyone's mind when they've just been arrested for drunken and disorderly conduct and now drug possession? Nah, I don't think so. I feel that it's almost a certainty that people in the spotlight that have prostituted their souls for profit, fame and extreme wealth will eventually hit a wall and their fake lives will begin to erode and deteriorate in front of the public eyes. Unlike their elevation to fame over a number of years, their decline will be more sudden and much more painful for them.

The Kardashians are beginning to fall apart at the seams. Kourtney is turning absolutely skeletal trying to achieve her 'revenge body', Kim has lost the attention of the media and limelight to her two much younger step-sisters. Khloe thought that anything she put her name on would be wildly successful, but her new show is an embarrassment and a dismal failure. Kylie has this drama with Tyga and Blac Chyna and it's affecting her relationship with Tyga. Kris is starting to age rapidly despite having all the money in the world for surgery. Rob is in limbo, not wanting to be associated with that wacky family and struggles with addiction and depression. Caitlyn is history, nobody cares about her anymore and that's going to be difficult for her because she's always been a narcissist. Kendall is the only smart one, she's staying in Europe more and away from the fray of the family involvements. She also has good friends for support.

That family is crumbling before our very eyes and we get to watch every moment of the decline just as we got to watch the ascent.

  12. Both Kris Jenner and Faye Resnick are both going to be portrayed in the FX's mini-series 'The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story". Why am I getting the feeling that the appearance of Faye Resnick in RHOBH and the O.J. Simpson reference by Lisa Rinna and the connections of Kathryn to it was all intentional to get us to watch the FX mini-series.  Maybe FX and Bravo are owned by the same people.

  13. I think people were curious because there was so much publicity and hype about it they just wanted to check it out. I'll bet the majority of those who watched the first show haven't turned in to see the second one.

  14. I told myself I wouldn't watch the second episode but for some bizarre reason, I did. I think that deep inside I was hoping that there would be more substance to this train-wreck. I couldn't believe that it was actually worse. Everyone felt awkward and didn't quite know what to say. And what's up with Scott hiccoughing all the time? I've noticed that before but he was non-stop hiccoughing. I wondered if he's on some sedative or drugs that's causing that reaction.

Tyga, Scott, Malika, and Jenna Marbles didn't mesh together as guests in the same way as last weeks guests just didn't click. No matter how forced Khloe's attempts at rallying some kind of humor and fun with those god-awful lame games, it was a dismal fail. I didn't even know what they were talking about during one game when Malika and Jenna were doing some schtick about hastags. That went right over my head.

Khloe can bring her foul mouth and references to penises, vaginas, waxing, farting, burping, and overall nastiness to the Kardashian franchise but if she's betting on that type of humor to pull her through in her own show, it's not going to happen. I'm embarrassed to have watched it a second time and won't again. As I said in another post it's a show about nothing at all.

  15. I didn't really care for the backbone of America comment since there are all kinds of good, honest, law abiding people who are the backbone of this country as opposed to it only being women from the midwest. I'm sure she didn't mean it that way and I don't dislike her. It's more like I have my eye on her in the way that I have my eye on Erika when she says things like how she has to "pay attention" around women but not '[her] gays'.

Some refer to the 'mid-West States' as 'Ya know, all those other States between NY and L.A."  Erika feels safe that 'her gays' aren't going to back stab her. I think she's right to be on her toes with these women.

  16. Erika, and why I admire her.

First looks at Erika Jayne's videos leaves a pretty open door for people to judge her based on that alone. If that's all we ever saw of Erika Jayne a lot of people would think she was nothing more than a sexy woman selling herself for profit through her raunchy stage shows and videos.

Second looks at Erika Girardi showed me that Thomas Girardi is a very intelligent man and that his 15 or so years of marriage to Erika confirms that she's not only about beauty and sex, but she's about intelligence and fairness too. Erika stands out from the others because she's logical, unbiased, unprejudiced and completely rational. In one of her POV she said "The Nicole Brown Simpson murder....Kathryn was included in a story that changed America".  After she said that I thought, 'what? changed America?'  The O.J. trial didn't change America per se but it most certainly changed the way Americans and others around the world sees reality. It wasn't even a cultural thing because white, black, immigrants who were from different races, women and men, rich and poor, everyone was glued to the television. What I realized was that this was entertainment, this was not only news. The trial lasted 8 months and in my opinion it was the first 'reality' show we were ever really exposed to and we quickly became addicted. Fast forward years later, we're being fed scripted reality shows but we watch because we wait for those moments that become unscripted and touch on reality.

Faye telling Kathryn "I think this is something we should discuss in private". But where's your memory Faye? Wasn't it you that wrote in a book for profit for anyone to read the fact that Marcus Allen and Nicole were having an affair while Kathryn did nothing but look the other way?  It works both ways honey and if Kathryn wants to air dirty laundry in front of cameras, then it's just to bad for you.

  17. I wrote that all signs point to Kingsley living on a farm, but nothing about Kingsley's fate has been confirmed other than he no longer lives with Kim, Kim gave him up.

I think that if Kingsley was given to a family to rehabilitate and to have his aggressive behavior modified and he was now a happy, prancing in the grass doggie today, that Bravo or the Richards family would have shown the 'happy ending'. Unfortunately, my instincts tell me that Kingsley 'bought the farm' not living on one.

  18. In Italy right before Eileen went to release the ashes of her sister, she was sitting and talking with Vince while he was busy with a map planning their travel. She got up to leave and Vince said 'I know you want to be alone, I'll be here if you need me, just call me if you do."  I thought, hmm....why isn't he being a supportive husband and just letting Eileen know that he wants to be there with her at that moment for support. Even if he stood behind her 20 feet, just be a presence for her. 'If you need me call" just doesn't cut it for me at a moment like that. It's like a woman struggling to unpack groceries from the car herself and hauling them up a flight of stairs. Then the husband who is sitting watching TV watching her having a hard time says 'why didn't you ask me to help?'.  Well bozo, you have eyes and ears, it's just not that considerate to wait to be asked rather than stepping in and taking over with the help. I think Vince should have at least said "honey, I want to be there for you, I know it's difficult for you and I care enough to be there for support".

I watched Kyle busying herself with the menu planner preparing for her event that she for some reason chose to call a barbecue. She even said 'there's not even a barbecue on". The table looked very formal, the velvet chairs, the crystal wine glasses, the expensive china and silverware. And she was dressed in a long, formal purple gown, a friggen GOWN. I saw the menu and there wasn't one single barbecue item on it. She SO suckered her 'girlfriends' into coming to her grand affair dressed up like a bunch of has-been Daisy Mae's.

Seared Ahi on Jicama with Blueberry Coulis
Roasted Figs with Sonoma Goat Cheese
Roasted Carrots over Creme Fraiche with Baby Gems and fresh Herbs
Free Range Chicken Breast over Mashed Potatoes, Sauteed Tomatoes and Squash
Rhubarb Tart with Plum Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream
    Chocolate Pot de Creme Truffles.

    My normal barbecue would be;

Chicken on the grill basted with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce

Hot dogs and Hamburgers for people who hate BBQ chicken

    Potato Salad and Cole Slaw

    Bush Brothers Baked Beans

    Watermelon and Smores for dessert

  19. Whenever I see someone spread the ashes of a loved one I think about the people who rented a helicopter to do it over the ocean.

They flew to the spot they wanted, opened the door to the cabin, said some words and tossed the ashes out, where they were immediately taken by the rotor wash and pushed back into the cabin, all over the occupants.

I also knew of an old friend who lived in Sarasota and after their friend died, they jumped the fence at a local pro baseball stadium. He had asked to be spread over the pitcher's mound, but the team refused to allow it. When they got on to the field, they said some words and proceeded to spill the ashes, all over her shoes.

I want to be put into a Gatorade bottle and left someplace, preferably NOT by the side of the freeway, like the longhaul truckers do with their urine?

your post reminded me of something that happened to my sister and brother-in-law in Florida. At the time they lived there, people would come with the human ashes of loved ones to the edge of the ocean and have a little ceremony and throw the ashes into the Atlantic. My sister and her husband used to take walks on the beach and one morning there was a small ashes-to-ashes ceremony going on up-wind. The ashes blew sideways down the beach where they were walking. My brother in law started to cough and spit complaining "omg! I just got someone's ass in my mouth"

  20. For me, this episode took this franchise into a very dark place. I hope these women realize what they're getting into by changing the directions of this show and leading it where none really wants to be. I don't even know where to start with Faye Resnick. I followed the details of the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson every day as many people did since it was the trial of the century.

During the trial, when Faye Resnick took the stand, everyone's attention was focused on each word that came out of her mouth. It was very obvious that she enjoyed the spotlight and was very comfortable bathing in it. There's many things about Resnik that was well-hidden, particularly in her own book. Let me copy and paste some excerpts from an article written by Roger Friedman in 2014.

"She cashed in on the murder of her so called “best friend” by publishing a ‘book’. The book detailed Faye’s supposed lesbian relationship with Nicole, their partying and drug taking. Their other best friend was Kris Kardashian Jenner. You get the picture. They were not what we’d call the Mensa crowd.

By 1994 she’d already been married three times. Number 2 was a guy named Fadi Halabi, with whom she has a daughter. When I wrote my story, Halabi was a fugitive on a 1983 narcotics possession charge.  Number 3 was Paul Resnick, whose daughter told Faye was the worst of her dad’s five wives. In 1989,during that marriage, police were summoned to the Resnick home when Faye shot a gun into her TV set.

But the best part of her history involved a couple named Robert and Pearl Gibson. Resnick inveigled herself into their marriage with terrible results. The couple split, and Faye moved in with Pearl Gibson and her kids. She stayed for six months. until Pearl called the police and accused Faye of assaulting her. Resnick moved in the boyfriend Dr. Christian Reichardt, but they split when her drug problems got worse. That’s when she moved in with Nicole Simpson. She claimed to have bedded Nicole, got a $60,000 advance from a low rent publisher, and the rest is history. The last time I saw her was in the late 90s when she had glommed onto Kathy and Rick Hilton, Paris’s parents."

    http://www.showbiz411.com/2014/03/19/real-housewives-beverly-hills-show-might-add-faye-resnick-infamous-from-oj-simpson-case

Basically, Fay Resnick is pretty scummy no matter what sort of erudite or intellectual vibe she attempts to project. Kyle Richards is just as low in my opinion. She purposely sat Faye and Kathryn directly opposite each other and Kyle also drew everyone's attention to herself so she could give her little speech filled with accolades and praise for her good friend Faye. If Kyle Richards had any brains at all, she wouldn't be so boastful about her friendship with Resnick.

*I want to add that I feel that Bravo has sunk pretty low and will do just about anything for ratings. They're aware that having Faye Resnick entering the fray would bring back details and questions about the murders of Nichole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. The families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown were subjected to not only having their son, daughter, brother, sister brutally murdered and dealing with that loss, but they were put through additional torture during both the criminal trial and the civil trial of O.J. Simpson. I feel it's disgusting and unforgivable of Bravo, Kyle Richards and Faye Resnick to stir up this pot again if only for the sake of the unfortunate Goldman and Brown families. I think those two families have earned the right to have some peace from these horrific events.

  21. I also have zero sympathy for her regarding Faye.  She knew when she signed on to do this show that she would be interacting with Faye - She even said early in the episode that she knows Faye is a good friend of Kyle's.  So don't complain that you're face to face.  If she truly had no desire to speak to Faye or to be anywhere near her, then she should have taken her gobs of money, grabbed her husband, hopped on a plane, and continued seeing the whole world.  Twice!  But of course she won't do that because she wants to be on television.  All of her moral outrage towards Faye fell by the wayside (instantly, I'm sure) when she was offered a job on this show.  She clearly wants the money and/or the attention, and probably both, so she should stop acting as though she was put into an uncomfortable situation against her will.

But the thing is, Kyle has been friends with Faye Resnick for a very long time. Faye has appeared briefly in a couple of episodes in the past, but if you recall she never appeared in any episodes last year because the drama was all about dysfunctional Kim and the relationship troubles with Kyle. Faye didn't want to get in the middle of that fiasco and Kyle wouldn't push to have Faye make her appearance either. But this year suddenly we're seeing Faye Resnick begin to weasel into the group where she really doesn't belong. Kyle knew of the book of course and the allegations she made about Marcus Allen and Nicole. What did Kyle expect at her 'barbecue'?  Did she think the two of them would air-kiss and make up and let bygones be bygones? Of course not. Kyle is stirring the pot again and will regress to the background and look shocked when all the shit hits the fan.
