  1. Hmmm…. There was a cholera epidemic pre-Revolutionary War and maybe other outbreaks after that?
  2. And then when Jay ate the Oreo! I was dying.
  3. Maybe Car Ghost died with the munchies, too.
  4. Gadzooks, February 2 seems incredibly far away!
  5. What I do love about the UK version is the distinctiveness of the settings, and the ghosts seem to be stuck in loops/habits in different ways. They are less like living people. I am differently sympathetic to them. The background of US is almost always the house, as a fledgling hotel. In the UK we’ve had wild party, film set, wedding, camping, telework… It’s definitely more interesting. The US version is more loveable.
  6. Sam and Jay probably have one. Anyone who has come to visit probably had one. They watch TV all the time. It’s probably something they learned without really trying to learn. Pete and Trevor also already knew how remotes work.
  7. What's weird is that in the UK version of this show, Pete's counterpart (Pat) tried to teach the ghosts to do improv. They haven't done that here, yet this episode made reference to it as though they had. I wonder if there was a cut scene, or if this was just a nod to the UK show. !!! !!! So I am rewatching Season 1, Episode 4 while doing dishes and in the cold open (the missing oreos) Pete boasts a little about his improv training.
  8. Oh, Kitty. She’s my favorite. I don’t think she is weak. I think she is unfiltered enthusiasm and joyful naivete. It’s such a cheerfully weird, fully committed performance. Regarding Thomas, yes. Gag gag gag. But thanks to the comment above, I now see he and Sass are counterparts! I hadn’t put that together before.
  9. I was thinking the same thing, but then again, maybe the car didn’t hit the pole hard enough to even deploy airbags and save the drunk person not wearing her seatbelt. As long as we are fanwanking… I’d have liked it more if Freddy had innocently driven by the scene of the accident and hit the new ghost with his car as Jessica was still milling around the scene of her accident. He sort of scooped her up and trapped her, or else she decided to stay for the food. That way, Freddy is not driving around a structurally unsound accident car. She could still have car alarm power even without the fob. Thor has electricity power and electricity hadn’t even been harnessed yet when he died.
  10. Thor Improv was killing me. Pete really does know how to do everything! Is the horse/buggy to the left of the framed picture in the opening credits new, for Jessica? Maybe Sam and Jay can have Freddy run errands to unusual and interesting locations, for Jessica’s benefit.
  11. That was a LOT of plot for a trailer. A lot. But I do like Brandon!
  12. Small Deck Energy ah-hahahaha! And the horse hahaha! I love Ava. And she didn’t do anything Clearly Illegal Bad Principal. It was perfect.
  13. Trevor also sat down to watch stable boy porn with her. If she was into it, he was into it.
  14. As long as we are on the subject of the Baby Bjorn episode… Sass looked like he was really enjoying the Good Chair in this episode!
  15. I’ve seen them at shopping malls. Maybe it is part of operating a business?
  16. But getting hung up on the minutiae is whimsical and delightful! That is the service message boards provide! Coming here after a new episode to chatter and opine makes the fun last a lot longer than the show’s run time. We pick it apart so we can remember it better and spend more time in its world.
  17. The season 1 DnD episode is the one I watch most frequently, and I am watching it again right now and OMG Nigel and Baxter and Jenkins storm in to reclaim the house and Isaac says, without a moment’s hesitation, that “if you insist that the time for words has passed… then no matter the cost in blood or treasure… my army and I will defend this house to the bitter end.” I think the kiss at the end of this Christmas Part 2 episode is a lovely callback to the ability Isaac has always had to fight for what is important to him no matter his fears. And I love the idea that Nigel is part of his home now. (Also, Nigel replied then that if it is war Isaac wants then it is war Isaac shall have and gives it to him and that is a wonderful foreshadowing, too. I swoon.)
  18. Ok. I love her. Love her. I HATE that she is the principal. HATE. I don’t understand this. It undermines the rest of the show for me, which is a sweet sad funny relationships comedy that actually is making pointed, relevant critiques about public policies, and there is Ava. And the sexual harassment stuff just isn’t funny. I don’t believe that character would do that either. It’s perplexing that this is in the show. I wish there were some other role for her. If you need an out of it, unfairly in the principal job character… whatever the janitor is doing could have been perfect for an unqualified leader. I taught high school, so I don’t know what kind of other people are around at elementary school that could be Ava. PTA president? Education consultant? School nurse?
  19. I agree. But being a small business owner/independent manufacturer of sustainable, high quality merchandise is commendable. And to Barbara, being a married mother with a cheerful, productive child is also commendable. It’s just what part of the package will you decide to focus on? I would love to shop for the blue dress Ava was wearing but I can’t find it on any Shop the Show websites. Has anyone rlse looked for and found it? I found Janine’s green floral already. I would like to pretend to buy both.
  20. I just love that by the end of the episode Isaac and Nigel can joke about their “special relationship.” They are very sweet. I was kinda glad to hear Nigel speak up for the crown. For all Isaac’s bluster, Nigel really is the braver one who is willing to take more risks. That said, this isn’t his first gay relationship. Isaac is still trying to figure out who he is in a partnership with an equal, focused solely on love (vs a husband over a wife, married for social and economic reasons).
  21. We’re just speculating so I will add: She could have hit her head in the fall. Her hair could be hiding a skull wound/fracture.
  22. I got invited last minute this week to see Hamilton on stage for the first time yesterday. It was Ghosts night too and Isaac launched right into his Hamilton beef at the top of the episode and I could not have been happier. In the favorite quotes thread another poster remarked that Nigel speaks like King George and YES. It enhanced both shows for me.
  23. Maybe she died peacefully at home surrounded by grandchildren before Bjorn left. Bjorn’s wife lost her husband, too. Also sad. :(
  24. She’s so agitated about it. I feel bad for her, but maybe you have to find true peace anywhere before you can get sucked off. Or maybe she still thinks she’s better than everyone and just deserves to be in a better place. I don’t want to read too much Good Place into it but she is kind of Eleanor.
