  1. I think I'm friends with The View again. As with friends, the show can annoy and tick me off at times, but I still want to spend time with them. Joy being on the show makes a positive difference for me. And, yes, she does look fabulous, Cementhead. I prefer Joy as the moderator (by far) over Whoopi, but Whoopi's acting more normal than she had been. I compared to The Talk, and that show is soooo boring. Overall, the Viewer group is a better mesh. Unfortunately, Michelle's a troublesome weak link with her pointless interjections. I wouldn't be upset to see Michelle and Whoopi leave, but they're not deal-breakers for me. Yet. For me, so far so good. I see promise.
  2. Whatever good Miss Colorado's speech did for nursing was greatly lessened by the grossly disproportionate nonsense over Joy's relatively harmless remark. She apologized, now they owe her one. And what Celia said. Perfect.
  3. Sue me, I enjoyed the show. Whoopi was so much better, and actually made some good comments. She also sat back, relaxed, and encouraged discussion. Less cross-talking overall. Decent conversations. Raven looked good and was likeable to me. Liked all the sets. Still dig Joy. Everyone dressed better than usual, even Whoopi. Spewed out coffee when Michelle said Walters' on-camera image was filtered.
  4. He's more than "working", he has a very healthy career that I totally respect for how much talent it takes, and did not have handed to him. Also, I respect how he's consistently conducted himself in such a gracious manner. Frankly, some could learn from his example.
  5. Updates: Jordan Sparks co-hosted a dance show after DWTS tonight. She looked AMAZING, wish I had a picture. Did a good job from what I watched. Relaxed. Wore glasses to read prompter, looked sexy with them. Justin Guarini's new musical (Moonshine) is getting buzz, made the New York Times. (Note: Oh Well, one of the articles below refers to him as a Broadway veteran, which I thought you'd like) Links and new picture. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/15/theater/brandy-clark-and-shane-mcanally-on-moonshine-that-hee-haw-musical.html?_r=0 http://www.theaterjones.com/ntx/features/20150907073738/2015-09-13/Something-to-Bray-About Kelly Clarkson cancels 6 tour dates. Doctor-ordered vocal rest. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/kelly-clarkson-cancels-tour-dates-to-rest-voice-20150913
  6. Ditto on the Katie Holmes (etc) comment. Also her use of Cruise to further her "career" status particularly always irked me. Missed Whoopiless Friday. Opportunity missed NOT to see her legs straddling the table leg, while talking w/ something in her mouth. Which, btw, is inexcusably crass. It's like giving a big middle finger to the viewers.
  7. -Loved when Joy redirected everyone back on topic when they started to go off on one of their totally unrelated tangents. Blew kisses at TV. -I can accept kooky Raven. Her out-of-the-box observations/opinions lend a touch of the unexpected. -Michelle was trying way too hard today.... panic over the criticism received for her comments about the ugly Kentucky woman's looks. Yep. I said it. Ugly. -So, if one is born again, all past sins can't be used to demonstrate one's current judgmental hypocrisy? Got it. Reject it. -NO Barbara Walters, please. Ok, people. For me... so far so good. Not perfect, but promising.
  8. That (and the bigger table) is enough for me to give this show another chance. For now.

  10. Joy's back, so I'm back! This is the first bit of news creating a positive vibe. So... Don't muck it up View. Six co-hosts? Ugh. Too many. At the very least, get a bigger table.
  11. 'American Idol' Alum Constantine Maroulis Arrested for Domestic Violence http://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/american-idol-alum-constantine-maroulis-arrested-for-domestic-violence/ar-BBlGBbS?ocid=U142DHP
  12. OMG. LOVE LOVE LOVE Pink as a singer and performer. Few can match her. My guess, Kelly will ease out of Pop into a less "strenuous" genre. Image won't matter as much, neither will performance skills. She'll be fine. I've never fully understood her appeal, but many folks do.
  13. Clarkson's technique isn't bad. Better than when on AI and earlier post-AI with all the constant screaming, and over-singing. Still has audible gulps for air. Too distracting for me. The weight can't possibly be of any good in stopping that. Don't like the unreleased song at all, but the pictures remind me of how really photogenic she is (granted, often aided with tricks, but still photogenic). That was always a huge plus for her. Unfortunately not any more. Again, she doesn't care. Fine by me. She'll live with any consequences, not me.
  14. Yep. Clay Aiken cutting his toe nails for public viewing is very gross. Still sounds about right. But, I'm sure we're all waiting for his next "venture". Maybe Clay's establishing residency in NYC so he can run for political office in a more liberal location. The entertainment business seems done with him.
  15. News to me, too. She talked about being forced into doing certain music/things with current label, and that she looked forward to doing what she wants when her contract ends. IMO, fans liked the previous music (and image), so her demographic might change. To be clear, "forced into doing the music that her fans liked" was NOT a quote from her. My thoughts, worded badly. If I find the interview again, I'll add it to this post. We can see if I remembered correctly. edited to add interview video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWQhn1k-XBI&feature=player_embedded While here, a Clay Aiken update: Per fans, Aiken was apparently on Periscope cutting his toe nails. WTF?
  16. Not looking like this Clarkson hasn't. Plus, she recently stated she had been forced into doing the music that her fans liked, and that could be changing. She looks oldish and out of touch with that music now. The current album hasn't done well. I think she's heading into a different direction when could affect the demographics of her audience Sometimes not giving a shit isn't always a positive thing. I, for one, also get tired of her complaining about one thing or another, and pointing fingers.
  17. It's not only Clarkson's clothing choices evoking reactions from observers. It'll be interesting to see any negative/positive career consequences result from Clarkson's not giving a shit attitude
  18. Popping in to say that annoyed me, too. She, of course, failed to mention that following the Civil Rights Act being passed, the Democratic South promptly turned Republican because of the new Law. Along with the Confederate Flag being put up. Also, I predict Raven will punch Candace one day.
  19. Thanks for the reminder of this lovely girl, with her grace and sincere articulation. Unfortunately, her polar opposite is grabbing all the attention. Take note, Miss Whoopie Goldberg. There are those far greater than thou.
  20. Because I'm 10, the first part of this sentence made me laugh... On to serious matters. Whoopie is entitled to her opinion. What she's not entitled to is using false equivalences to sell her opinion while rudely chastising all those who disagree. The Duke lacrosse team incident (one accuser, many accused) in no way resembles Cosby's long-time serial rapist scenario w/ numerous victim accounts. Plus, his partial confession to guilt under oath. Despite info to the contrary, W's unwavering stance for Cosby being "innocent until proven guilty" essentially denies the same for several dozen "alleged" victims. To her they are all liars until proven otherwise. As several here have said, this is why too many women remain silent. A number which far exceeds examples of false rape accusations, btw. Whoopie is being irresponsible. Short and sweet: Shut up Whoopie.
  21. He's been kicked off team. After FSU's mishandling of the last quarterback's scandal (and revelations that the university has always protected players), they had no choice. Good. Looks like I missed an eventful View today. Probably good for my mental health.
  22. -Adam Lambert performed on GMA this morning. Missed it, but was told he was good. -More stage work for Justin Guarini announced: Broadway Actors Assembled for Moonshine http://www.playbill.com/news/article/broadway-actors-assembled-for-moonshine-that-hee-haw-musical-dallas-premiere-351622
  23. Well done! As for Black Woman Wannabegate. I'm all for anyone embracing/identifying with another culture/race. But this gal crossed the line for me w/ all the calculated lying. An old colleague of hers called her a con artist. May be. Of course, the media has over-reacted with the story, no surprise. We can only be glad it wasn't White Woman Wannabegate, because I suspect some extreme-right idiots' heads would have exploded. On second thought... Whoopie's bloviating remains intolerable. However, thank you Republican Shill Nic for knowing to be embarrassed by The Donald. Dear dear Rodger, Reminder: View discussions and logical thought don't mix.
