Fantique, the past few episodes, I'm not seeing NB quite so perfectly made up and her hair not always perfect as in S1 and early S2. We are being told by producers/writers how beautiful KW is and it seems to me NB isn't supposed to be as beautiful as KW.. The only one who would care who is the most beautiful isn't NB. It seems to me after reading Neil Jackson's comments that KW's role was greatly expanded and her costume went from Colonial to Ho so that she is now 'the most beautiful'. NB's lips have always been a delicate pink without distinctive lipliner-in "Mama", the dark lipliner emphasized them. I'm wondering if KW has enough clout to have NB made less.......

Sorry, can't get this working right. Last season, most of the photos showed TM and NB with their arms around each other. In one episode, NB's hair is pulled back and a little messy. In Mama', she was wearing lip liner emphasizing her lips, which I don't remember seeing before. Almost as if she isn't supposed to be 'the most beautiful one'.

Maybe not so subconscious. Neil Jackson, in the interview referenced upthread, said Katia was bored with her character and is happy her role has been expanded. Seems to me that someone is doing whatever it takes to make Katia happy and the entire cast knows this.

Something Mara said made me think that maybe endgame is Duke having to kill Mara. Aren't Crockers supposed to kill each incarnation of Mara but hasn't she always gone into the barn? And the troubles never stopped? I'm wondering if maybe the 'you have to kill the one you love' is Duke. Mara isn't her usual snarky self and smiles when she wears down his resistance to her. It's just not as much fun as S1 which was supernatural happenings and snarky remarks from two great leads with interesting supporting cast. S2 is far too much Crane Family Drama and isn't very much fun. It's turned from supernatural horror to soap opera.
