  1. OK - guys - I can see that green, black, & white shirt (or what I thought was a shirt, like you would wear with jeans). I am older than dirt and never saw a hospital gown that wasn't a solid white, blue, or pink. Even the mammogram gowns are solid colors. Maybe they make them in pretty colors now. And - I see what you are talking about on her neck, Valley - looks weird.
  2. toomuchsoap posted a different link about 8 posts back, but it's the same pictures. Can't help but notice she's not in a hospital gown or even a gown of any kind, I guess it could be staged if she used a surrogate and doesn't want people to know that. None of my business, anyhow - good luck to them all. Also, Billy Miller has been with Kelly Monaco for a long while now, according to a friend of mine who follows that stuff.
  3. I agree with Snap that she was used consistently during her last year on the show - it's just that the will screwed everything up. That entire will was out of character - Brock and Mack were basically ignored, while the idiot Devon got all the money and Victor got the company. I loved the earlier relationship between Victor and Catherine when she would tell him just what she thought of his arrogance and vengeance. During her last few years on the show, she became a Victor-worshipper, and that never jelled with me. It made no sense that someone who loved Nikki the way she did, could watch that bastard emotionally abuse his wife on a daily basis, and then reward him with her company. #still hate Victor, #still not watching, Pratt
  4. Petunia, I'm so sorry - this is beyond frightening. I don't find myself surprised that they blamed you - this country is fast becoming a victim-blaming society. And I can identify with you, jewel, about animals being unpredictable. My youngest son had a huge cockatoo named Eric, that we had for years and he was great with me. He ran along the back of the couch and held up his feet, one at a time so I could cut and file his "toenails". He was a loving bird, talked, gave kisses, and nobody was afraid of him. One day, I was stoking his head when another son opened the door and walked in. Eric bit down on my hand between my ring finger and my "bird" finger - not a snap (just a warning) because he stopped at the tendon. My son had to pry his beak loose with both hands, to get him to let go. 17 stitches later, the doctor told me I was very lucky to have not lost the use of those fingers. We never knew what caused the behavior, and he never did anything like that again. Animals can be very rewarding, but if something startles them, you just never know. Don't even get me started on horses - had my ass bit by my own horse when I was younger. Also, I was bitten severely by my grandson's cat 4 times last year while my grandson was deployed - a cat I had lived with since he was born and normally loved me. Each time, something outside startled or threatened him and he attacked me. Needless to say, he has been sent home to live with his Daddy. At my ancient age, I have decided to keep only my Australian Rosy Bourke, who is sweet and old - I think I am scarred up enough. Good luck to both of you in whatever you decide to do.
  5. My daughter did that, too, Valley. She worked a few nights at a skating rink, 4 days a week at 6-Flags, and 3 days a week interning at American Airlines, when they first moved to Texas. Long hours, and she was living at home, so she saved like crazy. The AA did turn into a 25-year full time position, which she kept until 9/11, and they started cutting back to avoid bankruptcy. Now she works for the police department and will have two retirements in the next 15 years. It all works out in the long run, if you're not afraid of hard work. She, like Jewel, had trouble deciding what she wanted to do, so she just did all three. In time, she outgrew 6-Flags and the skating rink, and the winter closing at 6-Flags allowed her to expand the interning at AA. I hope Jewel finds her special spot, too. Edited to say yummy for the chocolates.
  6. Me, too. I like Scorpio so much better than Colin, and he's needed in Port Charles. Tristan Rogers is a good actor, and is being wasted on show, like everyone else. Maybe they will decide to keep him, instead of bringing in more characters for nothing. Am I the only one who dislikes little Jake? I don't like the character or the actor - I realize this is off-topic - no bunny please, radishcake.
  7. Do what makes your heart happy, and what makes you smile. It's not always as simple as it sounds, but in the long run, your happiness controls how you relate to the rest of the world. Good luck.
  8. She can't be humping Collin, with any gratifying results - he's at General Hospital. I thought he was going back and forth for a few days, but he seems to be on that show almost every day now.
  9. I have private messaged with her since I have been on this board, but she has deleted all those messages - sounds ominous. She is a serious poster, rather than a snarker, and I located her back at the original board where I met her. However, she hasn't posted there since early November, and nobody seems to know anything. I have messages out here and at the other board. Will let you know if I hear anything - as most of you know, the holidays are not easy for her. God knows the show is bad enough to drive the best of us away - sucking raw these days.
  10. Everyone on the planet knows how much I hate Victor, so I won't even elaborate. I also hate JFP and Chucky Prattles with every ounce of heat I can muster, but I do not believe that Victor always winning is all Pratt's fault. I have watched this show since the beginning, when Victor was feeding dead rats to a man imprisoned in his basement, and he has NEVER paid for anything, through any writing regime. I think anyone watching this mess has to realize that the show is and has always been written around Eric Braeden's wishes, including the disgusting Shicktor story. I have always believed he has a choke hold on someone very high up at CBS. It has never mattered who writes the show, or who the EP of the moment is, Victor always has the last word, he always wins every battle, and he never pays for anything. He is a ridiculous caricature of villain, with his stupid smirking face, and creaking old body. I do not expect to see him retire, ever, until he is carried off in a body bag. I have read in interviews that MTS never kisses open-mouthed and I think everyone can understand why. I felt she put much more into that kiss with Neil than she ever has with Victor. It would make me physically ill just to have to stand next to that man on a bus - he is beyond disgusting. Rant over - Peace - OUT.
  11. Mia - if I could give you 100 likes for this post, I would do it. It is nice to see Victor or EB (one and the same, really) being beaten down good, and I'm not the one doing it. I honestly believe the only way this show can be saved is to have him leave - coma, dead, kidnapped by aliens, or just getting amnesia again - I seriously don't care which. All the writing, which we know is shit, revolves around this one man and his forever growing ego. Pratt is awful and a total idiot, but I don't think Hemingway could write this show, catering to the needs of one man's giant opinion of himself and his character. I have now finished all the small topics, and have to start tackling the two large ones. This will require another bottle of Grey Goose, which I will purchase tomorrow and continue at that time. Shingles, hemorrhoids, and scurvy to Victor, in the meantime. Sorry, Crosby.
  12. Just wanted to say hello and welcome to the insanity that is the board. I have been hiding out since before Thanksgiving, but I miss the snark so much that I am back, although my time is more limited than before. I am trying to catch up, and look forward to posting with you.
  13. Peach - are you still here? I've been in a snit since before Thanksgiving, and am now trying to catch up with reading posts. I would never bother to try to catch up with the show. Just came across this thread since I'm trying to start slowly, and remembered that you came back. I missed those recaps when I was reading, and looks like I'm still gonna be missing them. Still drinking but have added a little more interest to my life, so this re-introduction will be slow. Still not watching - probably not ever.
  14. Is there a petition circulating to have Hamster and Ninja replace the current set of writers? I believe we would need only 2, since we seem to have none at the moment. I would like to sign and deliver to the real power at CBS. The sad thing is that I believe we will find Eric Braeden to be the real power at CBS and I'm sure he loves the writing the way it is. Working my way back through mountains of posts that I have missed while pouting - it will take time, since the Grey Goose begins to take over around 10:00. Cheers!
  15. I think maybe they are allergic to the jackass, Victor. I think that's what wrong with the entire cast - everyone is allergic to Victor. I speak with no authority since I haven't watched anything but the Newman Tower Fire in almost 2 years, but I do know how repulsive Victor is. I am allergic to him and I'm from Texas - runny eyes and sneezing while typing. I am waiting patiently for him to die or go to prison for life, but I'm sure I will die first. Still not watching, Pratt.
  16. I hate that Thanksgiving always gets forgotten. It's my favorite holiday because there's not the candy, costumes, and parties of Halloween, and not all the gift buying of Christmas. Just a nice time to get the family together for dinner, and nothing extra. It always seems calming to me in the midst of all the other hysteria of the season. JMO Edited to say I've been on a sulking sabbatical, but have been reading. Love this board.
  17. glowlights - foghorn is right. I downloaded AdBlock 6 months ago and have never known such peace.
  18. I'm right there with you. I stopped watching forever ago, but still try to read. It's just getting so bad, I don't seem to be able to even do that anymore - can't afford the vodka bill from this damned show. God help us all !!!!
  19. Unlike the rest of you, I never saw TWoP. I was posting at another board, no doubt the same cesspool referred to above, and we had a poster called Rediculous (Red) who did Canadian recaps daily. The nasty people in charge decided that one of them should do the Canadian recaps, and told Red to stop. We all kept urging her to do it anyhow, and I think she got banned. She just disappeared, and if you posted a question about her, it went missing right away. I finally got a post to stay up long enough, and another poster gave me the name of the site. I came here looking for her, found her and a whole lot more, and never left. The cesspool is a bad memory and I have new home, with great people, great mods, and more fun that I could have imagined. Thanks to all of you for your fantastic wit and snark - without you and Grey Goose, I would lose my mind. Edited to say that I never mention the horrible show - that was intentional.
  20. Peaches - to say I am appalled would be an understatement. At least you are in the right thread - I am afraid for you, since I can see you being transported to Fairview, to wander around with Sharon and Patty - lol. Seriously, I understand your frustration with the entire cast, but I would prefer to see Ian stick it to everyone in GC. While show lies, bleeding out in a puddle of stupid, I think the entire thing could be fixed with the removal of EB, JFP, and Chuck Pratt. I think removing Chuckles and JFP alone would not fix it, because no matter who the EP or the head writer may be, it seems that they all answer to EB, at the end of the day. His character must always win, always be right, and always be in charge - the old fart just looks stupid to me. I love you, anyhow.
  21. My meds won't permit that, either - just sayin' - actually, my vodka has to be 5 hours away from my meds, so I just take them in the morning. Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. lol
  22. This makes sense to me because I have the same situation at GH. I can watch Franco and enjoy the crazy because I didn't see him as the serial killer. Y&R is easier to watch, never having known the show under Bill Bell, when the characters were well written. The sets were incredible, the stories well thought out, hair and clothing were really good, and that isn't going to happen again. Even with good writers (are there any?), the budgets have all been slashed, and today, the shows just can't compete with what they once were. Edited to repeat that I hate Victor, even more with lots of vodka.
  23. Ninja - this entire post is better than the last two years of this show. I love all of it but the last three are absolutely brilliant. I snorted vodka and now I can't breath through my nose and my eyes are burning - sending you the doctor bill if I am seriously injured. Thank God for this board - I would kill myself without it. Edited to say that I still hate Victor, just a little more than yesterday.
  24. I agree with you, Molly. He says he isn't telling on his profile, but he forgets and refers to his wife in his posts. Shall we have a vote?
