  1. Arguments between Kelly and her husband must be torture. The same two lines on repeat. "Mrs. Roper!" "Is that 70s?" "Who? Who?! Who?! Who?!" Ugh. Kill me.
  2. I think the Joe Go caveman act and the bratty kids are definitely dialed up for the camera, which is just as bad as operating at that level full time. Either you are a disgusting misogynist asshole or you are willing to look like one and spread that message on TV for money. Either way, you are not the kind of person I find interesting or watchable.
  3. Off topic but does ginger beer taste like ginger ale soda?
  4. This post is everything I am currently lacking the energy and wit to write. Perfection. You nailed it.
  5. Love how Bryan leaves his anti-misogyny training session and says "those chicks" just tried to tell him how to treat women. What a fucking idiot. Point = missed. I wish Jules had handed it to Bobby more. Even if she was flirty with him initially, she laid down the law with him multiple times. But Bobby says he is in love with her and it is her fault. I would have told him he was delusional and walked away. He did not deserve her forgiveness or a chance to lay his baggage on her again. I also wish Jen was more articulate and quicker witted. Someone should have put Bryan in his place but she does not have the mental dexterity to do it. And that is saying something because Bryan is hardly an intellectual gymnast himself. Hannah won the night with the line that Bryan was circling the boat looking for where he placed his dignity. She has her flaws but at least she is witty and entertaining.
  6. It bugged me that Vanina said she has false positive home pregnancy tests. You cannot have a false positive of you are using test properly (i.e. reading the results in the designated window). She may have been pregnant and then had a very early miscarriage (very common) so she thought she was not actually pregnant. But, if you get a positive you are pregnant. It is also very common to get a negative and then a positive if you take the first test before your hormone levels have reached the test's threshold. Sorry, I know it was a minor point but it bothered me.
  7. So basically you are saying Jules should have no one-on-one interaction with Bobby, and if she does Bobby is fairly entitled to interpret that as sexual or romantic interest despite her telling him numerous times she has no such feelings for him? Yeah, no. Jules told Bobby point blank that she was not interested in him. She has been friendly with him in the same way she has with everyone else. We have not seen her making sexual advances toward him or even verbally hinting she would like a romantic relationship with him. All of the meaning attributed to any "flirting" was in Bobby's head. Moreover, if Jules did refuse to have any interaction with him, then she would be a "bitch" and a "c***." You can't win with Nice Guys like Bobby because they feel entitled to put their dicks in whomever they want....because their boners are special, damn it. Finally, Hannah was sitting right there while they were playing their instruments. Then Julia walked away when Bobby got that dipshit look on his face. Jules mentions her boyfriend so much because Bobby clearly does not respect her lack of interest in and of itself, but sometimes Nice Guys like him will back off if they perceive the object of their desire as property that belongs to another man.
  8. As was the ease with which Bobby accused Danny of putting his (Bobby's) job at risk by "making" Bobby lose his shit on and physically threaten Danny. It's classic abuser language. "You make me act like this." No ownership of their own behavior. Very scary. We saw Bobby do this with the girls who rejected him (and partied with Danny) when they went to the beach bar with the Middle-Aged Douchebag Charter. He called the girls "busted." He is scum.
  9. FWIW, the most obnoxious group I ever dealt with on vacation was Canadian. Go figure.
  10. That's sort of where I am at. While I think the guests were disgusting and rude (tampons, overly drunk, disgusting messes, no manners, passive aggressive comments), I was confused by why the crew was so stressed about the actual requests. Like asking for snacks and drinks did not seem that unreasonable. The drink making set up (no bar upstairs) did not work, especially for these guests who want an endless flow of drinks. It seemed like some problems could have been mitigated by changing their normal service routine a bit to accommodate these guests' style. Like have some food out all the time, from a fruit plate when the guests come to the breakfast table (so they can nibble while the mains are prepared) to munchies during the day. Does Ben not have a radio? I also wonder why they did not radio down food and drink requests so a person in the galley could start them immediately. Like, yes these guests were assholes but it I think the crew could have made some of this easier on themselves. Also WTF is with all the Doritos? I love some cool ranch as much as anyone but why is Ben, a chef, not preparing his own salsa? It's not hard. Do they not have tomatoes, onions and peppers in Greece? Or at least buy something better than that crap? And serving salsa with nachos cheese Doritos? Unless the guests requested that I would be like seriously what the fuck are you putting in front of me right now? Where are the regular tortilla chips? These guests are why I don't go to all inclusive resorts. There is always at least one group like this... So drunk they can barely stand, being loud and rude as fuck, and being overly "friendly" to the staff while subtlety degrading them. They ruin it.
  11. Ugh, yes! I totally got that vibe and it made me skin crawl.
  12. This episode made me wonder, exactly how does service on a yacht work? I would feel weird if the stews were hanging around all the time just waiting for my requests, but I would also feel annoyed if I wanted something and did not know when they would be back. Is there a steady schedule by which the stews check in on the guests? I guess this is why I prefer to just serve myself! No one standing between me and my rosé That said, these guests were some of the worst. On top of being impossibly rude, their level of intoxication on national TV was humiliating. I would be so embarrassed if people saw me like that. Do they pay for gas on the boat? I could not believe the travel demands. Looks like Bobby reaches peak "Nice Guy" douche melt down next week. Should be fun.
  13. Unrelated side note, you can't climb the ruins in Tulum or Chitzen Itza but you can climb the great pyramid at Coba. Is about 45 minutes from Tulum and like 2.5 - 3 hours from Cancun. There are also gorgeous cenotes there. I highly recommend it.
  14. My point is that the ship's policy is not that tips are merit based or based on what you earn individually. They are supposed to be uniformly split. I think that if that is the policy, then follow it. If someone is not pulling their weight, then fire them. But under the communal tip policy, I think a sick crew member should get their share of the tip. This is not a normal job where you are sick at home in your own bed, your care is under your own control, and can make up lost wages with additional shifts later on. Nor are tips otherwise individually earned due to the nature of the crew's work. I think not following your stated policy is kind of shitty. We can agree to disagree.
  15. But most of the service industry does not uniformly pool tips across all staff members (servers, bussers, bartenders, managers). A server might be required to chip in a percentage to a bussers' pool, but generally you earn individual tips. I agree generally you do not get a tip if you do not work, but the boat's policy is to share all tips so all tips should be shared. Danny had to give up his individual tip on the previous charter, and Hannah was not docked a percentage of the tip when she had a migraine and laid down for a while. I think in a situation like that on the boat where you are basically "on" 24/7 it is not the same as working in a restaurant where you could switch shifts with someone when you are sick or pick up extra shifts later on (thus recovering the "lost" tip from missing your shift). There is no chance to earn that tip back. I think the idea only came up because it was Danny. If it had been Julia or Bobby no one would have suggested they forgo the tip. People just don't like Danny and he should have been fired like three times over by now. Generally, I think tips are a shitty way to pay people that unfairly puts them at the mercy of others. (People should have a decent wage and tips should be optional, not what people live off of ... like in Europe). I think the sharing policy sucks even more, demonstrating why tips are even more stupid in a boat setting where the labor is divided by the facetime is not. The service fee should just be included in the cost of the boat. But if your policy is to share tips, then share.
  16. This is what bugs me about the decisions related to Danny. If you have a crew member who has shown that he does not follow the captain's orders and cannot be trusted to use good judgment around the guests, what is he still doing there? Instead of firing the Danny's insubordinate, irresponsible ass, Captain Mark acts like this is a preschool sandbox and gives Danny timeouts and takes his toys away. It is totally ineffective, and Mark's decisions (combined with Bryan's shit managerial skills) have led to complete discord amongst the deck staff. Danny should have been gone a long time ago... Is it just me, or does the overall yacht experience seem sub-par compared to previous Below Deck seasons? Ben's food looks consistently average. (Was he making sandwiches?!) The parties have seemed very amateurish (although I do not think any "real" charter guest would ask for a theme party - other than maybe a white party - on a yacht). There just have not been any moments where the experience seemed like "oh that is amazing. I am super jealous." Although what do I know? If I was on a mega yacht I would not spend my time demanding "shots on yachts." I would be up with the sun (seriously, sunrise on a yacht? Yes please) and then on a heavy rotation of eating, sipping champers, swimming, lounging/tanning/reading, jet skiing, jumping off the side of the boat, and back to the champers again with a detour to the hot tub for sunset. Maybe that is my issue. We have seen so little of the guests actually enjoying the boat. All we see are their drunken antics, demands to watch a football game and the occasional beach picnic. Do you need to rent a mega yacht to do that?
  17. I think the tip forfeiture was unfair. If the policy is that the tip is split evenly, then you split the tip evenly. I think the only exception should be if someone is fired mid-charter. In fact, I think the situation where Danny was confined to his room for failing to follow captain's orders - and thus not working - would have been a more appropriate situation to dock his tip (and he should have been fired). Crew members should not be faulted for doing the responsible thing (staying in bed away from crew and guests) when they are severely ill and possibly contagious. If Danny is an inferior worker overall when healthy (and I think he is), then he should be fired so he stops dragging the rest of the crew down. Also, Captain Mark sucks. He should have acknowledged to the rest of the crew that Danny wanted to forgo his tip, but then told the crew that was not his (Mark's) policy and Danny would receive his share. Bryan continues to suck at life. He is actually correct - Jen should know how to tie the knot correctly and Danny should have kept the list - but his management skills and delivery are so abysmal that he comes off looking like biggest asshole in the room every time. Instead of being respectful, instructive, and helpful (i.e. leading by example), he gets down in the mud even deeper than the people he is criticizing. It's not a good management style. Instead of wanting to lead and lift his team up, he just wants to control them. He can demand respect all he wants, and might be entitled to some based on position alone, but no one has ever built a solid, loyal team by shouting "but I am the boss!!" over and over. On top of that, he is more than willing to let his dopey, douche-bag lackey Bobby pile on. Danny was his typical annoying, petulant self in that crew mess scene, but Bobby's rant was completely out of line. Any respectable manager would have told Bobby that this was not his place and that he needed to leave. I am not a massive fan of Hannah, but those guests are horrible. I have no tolerance for people who are rude to and abuse people in the service industry. The other have of the "service with a smile" agreement is that the people being served will generally be polite, kind, and respectful. Servers should not have to sit there and swallow constant insults, degrading comments and hostile behavior simply because they are in the service industry. If the guests had a legitimate issue with the service they should have told Hannah what they felt was not going right, or told the captain specifically (i.e. it is taking too long to get drinks, the food prep is too slow) so that it could be corrected. However, it did not appear that there was any actual problem (other than the guests complete inability to responsibly consuming alcohol, thus diverting Julia's attention to tend to an incapacitated guest). These guests just wanted to be abusive because they felt like they could. It's vile.
  18. Ben's smores looked horrible. Couldn't he fancy them up a bit? Or at least make them correctly?
  19. Another day, another episode with the male cast members using female anatomy terms to denigrate one another. So pathetic. I also hated how Bobby was fully willing to take in the view of Hannah's boobs and enjoy her physical attention but then ran to Jules to bag on Hannah behind Hannah's back. If you are not into Hannah and don't like her advances (which I thought were pretty inappropriate) say so. But don't act like you are down and then basically say how awful it was later. That is some junior high, little boy shit. Moreover, Bobby needs to get over his fantasy that he has a shot with Jules. She pretty expressly told him she is not into him. She does not seem overly flirty with him either. I think Bobby would read "flirting" into any interaction with Jules because that is what he wants. Even if she does "flirt," sometimes flirting is just flirting and is not a means to sex. Jules has explained this to Bobby. No means no Bobby. I was uncomfortable with Hannah greeting Bobby topless though. Maybe it's different on a boat because of the close quarters (and Bobby has displayed some exhibitonist tendencies as well) but if my opposite sex coworker did that to me I would definitely not be cool with it. Bryan is the worst. He should be on a condo board or work at the DMV or post office. He seems to be that type of person who gets an inch of power and thinks he has a mile. His behavior is gross. Standing over Jules while barking orders was so degrading. A normal person could have just said, "hey guys I know it's late, but Captain was on me earlier today about making sure the crew mess stays clean. Can you come take a quick pass through it so he is not pissed at us?" Bryan had such a boner for menacingly ordering Jules around. He is a pig. I wonder what the timeline on Danny's fever was. It seems like they left him on the boat for way too long. A 102-103 fever is definitely "go to the doctor now" territory. I get it was inconvenient because they were at sea but couldn't they have just brought him to land on a dingy? Or call the medivac like the capital seems to end up doing? A super high fever with stabbing abdominal pains is no joke. I bet he gets his appendix taken out.
  20. I used to love this show but I think I am done too. I cannot take the raging double standard and misogyny anymore. (BTW is misogyny the new fake illness in Bravo shows?) Kathyrn has her issues but no more than Thomas. Kathryn is just more raw and has not yet acquired the veneer to hide her issues like Thomas has from honing his alcoholic/drug user skills over the years. I am really tired of the castigation of a 24-year-old woman who was stupid enough to fall in love with a 53-year-old manipulative cokehead by a group of people 10-30 (50 for Patricia?) years her senior who all also sleep around, lie, gold-dig and do drugs to some degree (except for maybe Cameron).
  21. Belize has some of the best diving in the world. It has cool beaches and chill little beach towns. I do not understand why they are staying in the middle of the jungle doing nothing but eating. It's so weird and boring.
  22. Really? I think Thomas loves drama as much as anyone. He climbed out of a window for no reason (wtf??) and lost his shit on everyone practically chasing a golf cart down the street. Thomas loves to start and continue drama. I think this is just the latest in a life time of drama between Kathryn and Thomas if Kathryn doesn't grow out of it (the only way I see it ending).
  23. I think I quoted the wrong post. Oops
  24. Like I said, waiting for the receipts. It very well might be true, but anonimous internet commenters aren't a good enough source for me personally for something so serious. If this story is true, and you have a legal obligation not to be discussing these things, you are really playing with fire.
  25. Kathryn did say hello to Landon though. Pretty nicely too. I can understand Kathryn not rushing right up to Landon when she came and waiting for a more "organic" moment when she was in close proximity to Landon. It feels less forced that way. It also gave Landon a chance to greet others and feel comfortable before enountering Kathryn. Also, for someone thinks so highly of herself Landon defaults to defensive, dolphin shouting pretty fast.
