S06.E18: Something To Sing About
charming replied to LotusFlower's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
The shade Kristin throws about age to Ramona & Sonya amuses me. It's a shame she will not be on a television show 20 years from now to chronicle how she handled the aging process. Not only will her and Josh be divorced, he'll probably be with a 21 year old model. Her attempts at being a domestic goddess in her new apron were comic worthy. Josh doesn't respect her after all those years of marriage & two kids. I don't see that changing. So Kristin needs to stop whining and do something about her situation. I think that's her problem with Heather. She sees a strong, confident, driven, take no b.s. type of woman who makes her resent her own life choices. Sometimes being pretttttttttttttttty isn't enough to be happy.. Sonya looked great with Harry at the park. The embarrassing singing of Luann will never not be funny. The producers had a field day with the Ramona & Mario flashbacks. I kept expecting them to focus on his mistress in the crowd. -
Thank you for reminding me of that. Maybe he's referring to their high end lifestyle? Like he has to work long hours to hold up his end? Originally I thought he was talking about the distance in their marriage and what caused it? Like an affair and he hopes she forgives him for that. I think the "issue" he's referring to is the elephant in the room that they don't want to directly address on camera.

Good for them going to Hawaii as a couple. I hope they can work it out or just go their separate ways amicably. I like the friendship between Vicki and Shannon. Hopefully it lasts. Lizzie, honey, when your Father hands you $100,000 that's the equivalent of being a poor little rich girl. Someone helped you. Most people trying to start their own businesses have to try to get financing through a bank and repay the loan with interest. There's nothing groundbreaking about her swimwear. It's an extremely difficult market. I don't know why everyone thinks you can easily go into fashion design.

There's so much going on with David & Shannon. This is brutal reality tv. Their emotions are so raw and real. When he told her she needs to be happy with herself and then finally told her he loved her I was relieved. He hit the nail on the head when he said if she loved him she wouldn't treat him the way she does. I feel bad for Shannon because it seems like her emotions are so out of control but she can't reign it in. Even if she knows deep down that she should stop. I still think he had an affair in the past which is the root cause of their marriage breaking down. She's been punishing him for years and he's finally had enough.

Vicki Gunvalson: Her Love Tank Runneth Over

Good for Vicki. She could purchase a lovely townhouse. Hopefully, she's not selling this to buy something even bigger to keep up with the Joneses. Or Leakes. Or DuBrows. -

I didn't watch that series. What did she do? -

I thought their reaction to the room was funny. Of course when Vicki is showing it to them, they ohh and ahh. Then once she leaves the reality sets in. Hahaha. I love how David came up with the plan to move because they were concerned about poor Michael. When David and Shannon laughed after Vicki refused to let them leave, it was a genuine moment between them. Maybe I've been jaded by Ramona on NY but I didn't think they were rude to Vicki. -

I think Kristin was telling this story in order to gain sympathy. She desperately wants people to "be on her side" and empathize with her. Instead, she got Heather who said she understood Josh. If Kristin became a regular cast member with a steady stream of income I could see her divorcing Josh in a heartbeat. -

Other then the small room, the beachy parts of the vacation looked like fun. You can never go wrong with jet skis. Shannon is a nagging nagger who nags but David gets his little passive aggressive digs in as well. Like when she was fishing for a compliment and he told her that she needed to get her boobs firmed up. Or saying in this episode that she doesn't go to the gym. I assume he meant the real gym and it wasn't a metaphor for something else. Both of them are responsible for the state their relationship is in. -

It was in First Looks right at the beginning of the episode Kristin, Josh, Heather and Jonathan are at dinner. Kristin is mostly telling the story. Josh chimes in from time to time to explain to her how she just doesn't understand. Heather supports him. It's a very strange matter of fact exchange about how completely normal it is for a spouse to announce life changes out of the blue. -
The Daily Mail/Fail had pics of Adrienne and Brandi hugging after having lunch. So there goes that dream. I forgot that Brandi will blame all of her actions towards Adrienne on Lisa. I bet this is going to be the "redemption" season for Brandi. Bravo can miss me with that bs.

I was watching an earlier episode and the kids were featured quite a bit with Christian. I don't think they're special needs. I think they act out for her attention. I think the older one is a gorgeous little cherub, diaper or no diaper. -

Josh says Kristin doesn't understand why he goes out every night. He had a marketing agency and dropped it for his new company without telling her. They live in LA for two years. He comes home one day and announces they're moving back to NYC. No discussion about possible plans with Kristin. Heather and Josh write that off as having the mind of an entrepreneur. No wonder Kristin's so angry and whiny. Josh has no respect or regard for her feelings. -
From the link above According to the insider aka Brandi. Um, Adrienne was already famous and on the show before you. I wouldn't mind seeing Adrienne back just because it would make Brandi angry. Adrienne has a new life, with a new man and her delusions of a Maloof Hoof empire for her storyline. She got a raw deal during the surrogacy/lawsuit lie. Bravo tricked me when they kept airing the "that's a lawsuit" clip and I completely believed that she was suing Brandi behind the scenes. Adrienne knew Brandi was a loose cannon looking to stir drama without any respect for boundaries and bounced. She never defended herself until it was too late and that allowed Brandi to set the narrative.

Lizzie Rovsek: Don't Forget Her Birthday!

What's interesting to me about Lizzie is she doesn't seem to enjoy her life as a wife and mother. She's always complaining in her TH's about how she doesn't want to be stuck in suburbia raising kids. She doesn't want to be a stay at home full time Mom. She complained that her husband is content to go to work, come home, have dinner and go to bed but she wanted more excitement. So after hearing all that when her child is nearing the age of 4 and having a meltdown over needing his diaper changed 5 times, it reinforces the perception that she's not a very involved parent. That might be unfair based on a heavily edited show but that's the risk you take by appearing on this type of show. I think she might be regretting her decision to get married, give up her dream of being a famous actress and having kids being stuck in the suburbs. I think a lot of women feel this way but don't express it for fear of getting dragged. -

There's so much tension in Shannon & David's marriage that they're not addressing. It wouldn't surprise me if there had been infidelity during their years together. They lack communication and Shannon picks at the little things because she might be afraid to address the bigger things. With hundreds of hours of shooting, there's no way you could hide problems in your relationship. Shannon is so tightly wound and used to control I think part of her breakdown is realizing the public façade has slipped on her marriage. She was probably regretting doing the show once she realized her issues would be front and center. I don't understand Lizzie. You hate being a stay at home Mom. You want to pursue your career. You complain about your husband not helping you. It appears that you cannot handle the stress of raising your two young children but you want to have another baby? Why? -
I thought Ramona got upset because Cindy's brother was bragging about smoking the dead friends cigar. Not only could Cindy not handle her perfectly normal acting baby at lunch. She needed to call an assistant after only a few minutes of sitting there. She also didn't know how to strap her baby into the high chair. My other favorite Cindy moment was when Jill asked her if the twins had slept through the night. Cindy told her she heard the nanny up with them. I honestly don't know why she had kids. I don't think she ever spent a second alone with them. I think she was supposed to bring Bethanny's "wit" and one liners but she was sour looking all the time.

S02.E13: We Have Manners. We're Polite.
charming replied to David T. Cole's topic in Orange Is The New Black
This episode felt too much wrapped up in a bow for my taste but I was still satisfied. It's a shame to me that some viewers will only accept black characters if they're "magical" or "sassy"-- Suzanne, Taystee and Cindy are more than cute gifset opportunities. This entire season I was dreading what would happen to Suzanne once Vee dropped her. Suzanne's been fighting for acceptance her entire life. She's alone in prison with no friends or support. She's mocked, insulted, and degraded. Here comes Vee who treats her with respect and kindness. Vee invites her into a group, builds her up, makes her believe she's loved. Of course Suzanne is going to be loyal to Vee. She will protect Vee if she thinks she's in danger by attacking Poussey. She was willing to confess to a crime just because Vee told her to do it. Those tears got to me. She's right back to where she started. Nobody caring about her. After all, it's not like Red will ask her to join her family. Bravo to Uzo Aduba. I hope she's recognized by her peers in the industry for her work this season. Also kudos to Lorraine Toussaint. It's not often an actress has the opportunity for this type of role. She manipulated everyone to get what she wanted. Hell, she even managed to make Red believe there was a truce. I don't blame Taystee, Cindy and Watson for falling under her spell. She gave them hope, love, stability, status, power and money. They didn't think far enough ahead to realize that everything has a price. Poussey was able to stand her ground and I loved that she never gave up on Taystee. I adore their friendship and I was happy to see them makeup. The other tie ups felt a little rushed to me. The reporter is still out there. There's thousands of dollars still missing. So Fig resigning wouldn't be the end of an inquiry. I would imagine that there would be a DNA test done on the baby if Mendez is prosecuted for rape. -
S09.E10: Skunk In The Barnyard
charming replied to Chit Chat's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I think she's a keeper! Her lifestyle is the embodiment of what a rich OC housewife is. I think she's struggling in her life right now. Maybe having a mid life crisis like a lot of women go through. I don't feel like she's trying to sell me a product or faking her issues for a storyline. That's refreshing. +1000000 I also clicked on Heather's Twitter page someone linked. People are going in on her. Too bad Bravo won't allow comments on cast blogs anymore. The facade of sophistication and champs has slipped off Heather DuBrow this season. -

Shannon's neurotic and dramatic but I felt for her in her showdown with Heather. She was wrong to trust Tamra with any private information but Heather should not have been repeating the gossip. She always acts like she's above that sort of thing but she's not. -
That's not how I see it. You aren't getting paid by being a SAHM. Todd's making money during the marriage, whether it's working on his own projects or Kandi's projects. I don't think he's putting his career in the backseat. It felt [to me] like he was presenting himself as someone who was giving his milk away for free. He acted like he was sacrificing for Kandi. When in reality, if they're working on and sharing the profits from their projects and got divorced, he still got paid for his work. Obviously he signed something and they got married but it raised the tiniest of red flags for me.
-
I hope the Bachelorette party was just for the show and she had a real party away from the cameras. That was lame as hell. Phaedra needs to step her stripper supplier game up. I loved the brief clip of Apollo salivating at Todd's party. I assume that Kandi would want Riley to inherit her estate after her chicken bone death. There's nothing wrong with that. Even though I believe that was changed because Todd was ticked. I thought the prenup drama was interesting. Todd has been hesitant about the pre nup "not being fair" for a while. The red flag for me was him implying that he was giving up jobs to work on Kandi's play. Then Kandi clarified that he received payment for what they worked on together. So please Mr. Tucker don't play games. I can't believe that Kandi didn't warn Mama Todd about the prostitute comments. WTF? How can expect someone to not be angry about that?
