  1. Face Tats lady certainly was working the dramatic look. This didn't really bother me, but she talked enough to convince me she is mind-numbingly stupid. However, both mother and daughter broke my recommended makeup guideline: your eye makeup should not weigh more that your eyeball. I suspect that is why she was constantly blinking, too much weight to hold her eyes open. Also, I have known a few merchant marine folks, I am not sure that Seven (or 7 or Sven?) is suited for that environment.
  2. It was also a short fence, looked like maybe only four feet high, and not in good repair. I have no doubt that a ridgeback could jump it with no trouble, even the young german shepherd could probably make it over if he wanted to. Sometimes I think JJ without realizing it thinks in terms of her small dogs. Not that I necessarily believe the plaintiff's story. I laughed when the defendant said emphatically that all of her daughters drive - I would have asked if that included her 13 and 15 year olds.
  3. So do I (I think of it as paranoid driving but that is just me). However, I don't think this is the way rules of the road are written. If the plaintiff had completely entered the right lane before the defendant started to move into the right lane, I think she is at fault for merging when it wasn't clear. I also believe that changing lanes as you go through an intersection is reckless but may or may not be legal, depending on your jurisdiction. JJ did piss me off when she said the the diagram clearly showed that the plaintiff ran into the defendant; to me it clearly showed that the defendant moved into the plaintiff's lane without making sure she had enough space. Oh well, it's just a TV show.
  4. Bakman scored a few points with me in a case involving a gunsmith working on a NFA firearm. He was the only one who understood all of the Federal paperwork involved, and the often slow response of BATFE bureaucracy in authorizing this type of work. Other than that, he annoyed me but was not boring.
  5. I agree in this case, but I have said that in a corporate environment when upper management has screwed the pooch and blamed it on lower level people who did their job correctly and got completely hosed by inept managers.
  6. In my area there is (or was) a company named "(family name) Ice, Inc". This business made a living by taking water and making it cold. The first and second generation children who made deliveries were known for being "odd", and local lore said that they lived under the porch of the family home.
  7. I think Byrd's body language made it clear how much he enjoyed it. /sarc
  8. I don't mean to be unkind, but she is way past "full figured". For no apparent reason I once received a Lane bryant catalog in the mail, and those ladies were really full figured and looked pretty good and attractive (my personal taste runs towards slim women). Heather to me is not in the range, but Andrew is no prize, either in appearnce or in maybe cheating on his fiance. They deserve each other.
  9. I am really disappointed that I didn't get "dead Reggie", our second show today was a rerun of the ill-fitting bridal gown displayed on the too small mannequin, and the right turn on red case. My cable guide told me I would have all new cases today on both shows, don't know whether to blame Cox or the actual station (WPMI in Mobile) for the bad info, I think I will just be pissed off at both of them.
  10. It was clear to me that Holly was more than a little crazy, and completely contemptuous of court orders and willing to abuse the court system to get her way. I know nothing about the defendant since he didn’t say anything. I am sorry for the kid, but the plaintiff is clearly a vindictive nutcase while the defendant is an unknown. Sort of like our election, a guaranteed disaster versus an unknown possible disaster.
  11. Yep, that is Holly Leftwich. I don't know why JJ let it go by that Holly deliberately disobeyed a court order in Florida for her to not remove the child from Palm Beach County FL. As soon as that court order was issued, she took the baby and fled to Virginia to be with her family (and a lawyer) and filed a protective order in Virginia to keep the father from having any contact with her or his child. Conveniently, the Florida court order Holly brazenly ignored was not brought to the attention of the Virginia court. Overall, I think Holly has a few screws loose, don't know about the father since he didn't say much of anything, although he had the most impressive binder of organized documents I have ever seen.
  12. Too true, and really sad and pathetic.
  13. I think that right turn on red came in with the gas shortage in the mid 70's (?). I remember gas lines but the gas was about $0.35 per gallon back then. The greatest scam was with a bunch of people in line, start at the front and tell people that they needed to prepay $5, collect the money until you got to the end of the line then keep walking. People get to the pump and realize that the guy collecting money in advance was a crook.
  14. When I got my driver training (from a professional instructor), the rule was that if you are turning right, your default is to go into the right lane, but if you are making a legal left turn you have right of way to any legal lane that you are tunring into. YMMV.
  15. Not just inaccuracies but based on the litigant's facial responses when these are read, they never said any of the things that we are told were their presentation of their case.
  16. What I noticed was that the plaintiff, to show how awful the dress was, displayed it on a mannequin that was slim as opposed to her distinctly not slim body. I don't know how bad it was, but I wish we had seen the plaintiff wearing it, not a deliberately wrongly sized mannequin.
  17. Yep, I think that JJ screwed the pooch on this one. Right turn on red is the same as a stop sign, STOP and proceed when it is clear. This reminds me of my high point on TWOP when JJ screwed up on parallel parking and the thread I started on it went on for two pages as I recall. Just to cut her a little slack, for someone of her age, right turn on red is a recent thing (40 years ago?).
  18. I think that is what batons and mace are for. Shooting might be more entertaining but that would be excessive force. ETA: I didn't get either of these, I feel left out, thanks Cox Cable, the second worst cable provider I have dealt with.
  19. Both of my episodes today were recent repeats, in spite of the Cox guide saying they were new. To add insult to injury, according to the previews for tomorrow, both of tomorrow's episodes (labelled "ALL NEW!" in the "Next on Judge Judy" promos) are also going to be recent reruns.
  20. The new guy seems very bland to me. I often disliked Bakman but at least he was not bland.
  21. Good call, I picked up on it immediately, I am a Honeymooners fan and have every episode recorded. She really grated on my nerves. She and boyfriend are so entitled, and know how to work the system, while the rest of us pay our rent or mortgages in compliance with our contract.
  22. In terms of valuing the 1995 Bronco, we saw only a glimpse of one picture, which showed the damage but also showed the rest of the vehicle looking in great shape, all clean and shiny. Maybe JJ saw enough other pictures for her rate the bronco as worth more than the KBB numbers?
  23. Same here, in fact last week I watched the stupid CGI intro just to connect names with faces. As a result I noticed that in the intro they spelled Heidi's name as "Hiedi". I rewound it to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. Good QC guys. (It was spelled correctly this week.)
  24. I agree, and if she wants to stand up for her mom, practice in the mirror to not smile and smirk. I also think if the defendant clearly let her damn dog shit all over the common areas, then she proably also let it shit and piss on the carpets. I think the defendant is an irresponsible person, and I didn't buy the daughter's teary defense. I also didn't like the plaintiff, but I understand her being pissed off.
  25. Yeah, I totally think Mom cashed out the CD because she was pissed that daughter wanted to be emancipated and get out from under her, but the plaintiff did not have enough to prove her case. Mom was smirking and the old "I don't remember" defense to me was really weak. Overall a sad situation. Given the plaintiff's efforts to become emanicipated tells me that her relationship with her mother was not as ideal as Mom portrayed it.
