  1. LOL for real. I thought she looked a bit like Ruby Rose in the number! I mean it's good to hear that Asaf is working hard, Nigel, but I mean come on that should be the lowest of the low bars for everyone on the show? I thought his Cha Cha with Marissa was absolutely painful to watch and I thought he flubbed quite a few steps. There was 0 chemistry between them so it was just kind of weird and awkward.
  2. *Cries because NBC hates Canadians* but I looked it up on Youtube and they're amazing! Also found clips of him skating/dancing and it was glorious. Thank you for the link! :)
  3. Gev is in a treadmill crew (whatever this is it sounds AMAZING) and did Fantasy on Ice? My love for him just intensified.
  4. I know it's dance moms (yes I watch it religiously because I am trash for bad reality TV) but have you seen him in Dance Moms? He choreographs a fair bit for a rival studio and is featured in a lot of episodes, it's really great :) I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but Chehon and Blake McGrath also choreograph for the same studio at a certain point.
  5. Not exactly a tell all but Evan Kasprzak and his brother gave a pretty extensive interview about their experiences on the show :) It's worth a read if you haven't read it. http://www.avclub.com/article/broadway-brothers-talk-life-so-you-think-you-can-d-218868
  6. LOL don't forget putting Lady Gaga on the map. Oh show... Shame that there were no ballroom routines showcased instead of Ryan Seacrest mugging for his stupid show. Hip Hip Chin Chin, or Black Mamba, something with Anya and Pasha, or Jeanette and Brandon's Cha Cha/Disco? Sigh. Alex freaking Wong. That's all. Marissa's solo was legit 95% hairography.
  7. And Thayne Jasperson from Season 4 was in it too right? Though he probably doesn't count as an all star. Jess is also plastered on posters all over Toronto right now because Newsies is here. :( But I don't think he's actually here because he's doing On the Town? But I agree, very weird about which alums they chose to feature. Maybe they could have made a slightly longer montage with less time devoted to each dancer. They had Hok on the show, and they didn't mention that he, D-Trix and Ryanimay won ABDC, and Philip Chbeeb and Jaja too for that matter, AND Philip's danced an entire music video Ed Sheeran too. And my fave, that SYTYCD/Nigel seems to hate, Blake Mcgrath, has done tons since being on the show. I miss Wade Robson.
  8. Oh wow she did (yes I did go check lol). Though she posted it on instagram. She has 3.5m followers so maybe it did help. I think she took classes with him in LA. For anybody else who watches Dance Moms :P
  9. Thank you SYTYCD for Burim's abs. I missed the first 3 routines but I am seriously impressed with so many members of Team Street and how versatile they are. Megz and Neptune especially. I was so happy when he got the Twitter vote. Favourite routine was definitely the Jaja/Jim duet. I wanted to like Asaf but his attitude at the bae's (Spencer) rehearsal just turned me off. It kind of seems like Twitch and Chris Scott were annoyed/frustrated with him too.
  10. Pretty much Team Jaja and Jessica and the ballet guys for me. I will miss Denys :( I loved him on SYTYCD Canada. I really don't think it's fair though that Team Stage's choreography rounds were Contemporary, Broadway and Contemporary again. Seriously? No ballroom at all? It just kind of seems unfair to me and "So you think you can contemporary." Also felt really bad for Justin Ballasy. I loved his audition but he just couldn't pick up the hip hop choreo, which was unfortunate. Oh Asaf. You silly, beautiful, man. No talking back to the judges, come on now. I already can tell that I'm going to hate hate hate Marissa especially since my spidey senses are telling me she's anointed for the Top 10.
  11. Thank you guys for updating here. I tried watching but I was bored to tears by the second dance since I realized this finale show is going to be dull as hell since I disliked like 90% of the dances this season. But did someone wipe out during that Top 20 dance? Stanley, maybe? Also, Zack didn't even get second?? WTF? Arghh why do you hurt me like this SYTYCD? I'm glad I watched US Open Tennis instead.
  12. I love Zack so much. Loved seeing Emilio cheer for him after his solo. He absolutely tore it up in that hip hop. Ricky was great in it too but my eye kept being drawn to Zack. He really transforms when he does all the different styles. I loved him in the Spencer broadway as well and the tap with Aaron. Also, Aaron, hello I missed you <3 Joining Jesse in the Aaron crush camp. I really wish someone would tell Tyce to stop with his "Very Special Routines." Really though, why did Nigel feel the need to reassure us that he loves Jessica? It's been quite clear all season Nigel that she's your favourite, over much more deserving dancers. I hope Zack wins but I will grudgingly accept a Ricky win.
  13. I don't think Jessica or Valerie deserve to be in the Top 4, sigh, but whatever. They both come off as super, young or immature I guess in their dancing. Not to mention that Valerie just even technically good enough for this point in the competition. I'm rooting for Zack but Ricky's probably going to win. Rudy with a Team Zack sign though? Not Team Jacque? :P And god. I used to love Christina Applegate but boy was she cringeworthy today. Especially that moment with Casey. Yikes. I actually really loved the Cheesman contemporary with the ball. It'll probably be the only contemporary I remember from this season. Will was spectacular, so that helps too. I really loved seeing Philip again! But Anya and Will. DAMN. That's all.
  14. Awesome episode. Someone was definitely cutting onions in my room when they visited the War Memorial. And then at the mat with the Veteran. I was crying right a long with the racers. I am just loving all the places that they're sending the racers and all the challenges as well. I'm not really well informed so I didn't know that they were building a Human Rights Museum, for example, in Winnipeg (from last week), so it was really cool for me to see. That alcohol challenge looked so so so hard. Yikes. I'm bad at all things math/chemistry I would've been there forever. Both the horse task and the tapestry task looked so so fun to do. Those horses looked so gorgeous. Yikes Rob and Ryan. I hope they get their map reading skills better by next leg.
  15. I really really hate theme nights in general. It takes me back to some awful episodes of American Idol. But this was especially awkward knowing all about Wade and stuff. I just don't really understand why Nigel wanted to have an MJ theme night, knowing that it would probably cut all ties with Wade forever, professionally and personally. Just awkward all around. Makenzie was my 2nd favourite girl last season, so I was delighted to see her back tonight! Particularly because I remember Spencer saying how much he loved working with Makenzie last season :) Zack was wonderful too. I just love how well he is adapting to everything he is given. My eye was instantly drawn to him in the group number as well, which he killed! He really just gives it his all, I love watching him dance. Tanisha was my favourite girl. I truly believe that she was the most versatile girl in the competition. Dammit America. But at least Rudy went home tonight so I can be free from his awful mugging next week. Yes, hello Will! I missed you <3 I thought he completely outdanced Jessica but whatever, Nigel. I also thought that Allision and Twitch completely outdanced Rudy and Jacque as well, since I couldn't take my eyes off either of them. Also Comfort.
  16. Oh wow, you're completely right! I can't believe I forgot about that Katee and Will pas de deux because it was incredible. So you're totally right, it's definitely not a first for the show. I remember Melissa and Ade did at least a classical piece en pointe (I vaguely remember the fancy costumes and Ade forklifting) but I'm blanking on a contemporary ballet.
  17. I was watching a rerun of 30 Rock, where Liz is trying to tell Jon Hamm that he gets things in life because he's beautiful and that he's actually quite stupid. And she explains to him that he's not supposed to put gatorade in his salmon, and he says something like, "Yes I am, the Italian lady from the Food Network told me I could," and I laughed harder than I should have, knowing Giada. I'm sorry, I just had to share that.
  18. Nooooo not Emilio :( Whyyy when Rudy is still on this show? And he freaking killed it tonight with Jasmine too. Also, Jasmine <3 I love watching her dance and I'm still bitter that she didn't win. The Jacque/Chehon routine was really lovely. When Travis deviates from his usual formula, I actually like his choreography. But I hated that the lighting obscured the beautiful footwork and Jaque's feet! But yay Chehon! I'm quickly losing interest in the season. The only people I care about that are left are Tanisha, Ricky and Zack, whom I hope wins it all. He's killing it in every style he's getting, and is incredibly versatile. Same with Tanisha. I do like the joy that Valerie has but her contemporary this week was really quite bad. I wanted to like her so much but her feet were not pointed, and her lines were just not extended. I don't get the hype about Jessica. I feel like the judges cast her because they thought she would be LoFro 2.0 or something? But to me, Jessica is always very flat.
  19. While Pierre + Michel tried to trick other teams, if I'm remembering correctly, they were actually quite helpful to Natalie and Meaghan in Macau and I think they bonded over being athletes or something like that. So, I guess it's not so horrible giving them the express pass. I'm very sad about Nicole and Cormac being out :( Nicole seemed like a warrior the entire race. And the fact that she went 22 rounds of that biathlon. Just wow, that's incredible determination. Sukhi and Jinder at the dog sled were quite obnoxious again. And the talking head where they were complaining like: nobody's helping us. Duh. It's a race. I'm really excited to see Natalie and Meaghan do the hockey drills next episode.
  20. I meant in terms of ethnicity. I mean we started out the show without any African American girl dancers and no Asian dancers which is rare for the show, seeing in past seasons it was usually diverse? I mean it gave us Sasha, Jasmine, Aaron, Katie, Marco, Tadd, Joshua, Cyrus, Fikshun, Alex, Kupono, etc etc.
  21. I think Zach is doing amazingly! I picked him out in the Guys' number and went wow, he's kiling it! I actually really really liked that group number by Travis, even though I thought for a brief moment that Emilio was going to die on national TV. Casey and Jessica? Ugh. Ughhhhh. She's a partner killer, and I find Casey boring, and neither of them engage me. It sucks that they had to save two contemporary dancers instead of a ballroom or Hip Hop. But if they did save Serge or Teddy, the Top 10 would only be 50% contemporary/jazz/ballet and we can't have that. I'm really bummed about Teddy especially since I loved his solo. But Jessica and Casey got the kiss!contemporary with Travis so of course they're safe. That stopped being cute like 2 routines after Jeanine/Jason, Travis. Jean-Marc I love you!! I wanted to like that Mandy Moore routine so badly. But Evanescence, and My Immortal takes me back to being 13 years old and emo, so I really can't take that song anymore. ETA: is this the least diverse Top 10...ever?
  22. Yay for Natalie and Meaghan! That mini fight was cringeworthy though. I was also really impressed with Bob/Rex and Cormac/Nicole for the casino challenge. They seriously made up major ground. I like that if you could figure out the patterns, then teams that were behind could catch up if they were paying attention and could work it out. It seriously seemed tough! Sukhi and Jinder seriously bugged this episode. They should've spent less time asking people for help and more time paying attention to the challenges.
  23. Haha yup my feelings exactly. And Vancouver too! I love Rex and Bob but they really got lucky with this one. It must've been frustrating, but did they know the penalty would be so high? If I had known the penalty would've been 6 hours, I would've stuck with building that chair. I mean it couldn't have exceeded four hours, right?
  24. I just started watching this show a few episodes ago. My problem really is that a lot of these contestants are more caricature than actual real people whom I would really enjoy watching on a TV show. That said, I really hate Loreal. Her saying "BOOYAHKASHA" circa 2005 really sealed the deal for me. I hate Lenny too. I honestly think he's a clown. Same with Sarah. Somebody nailed it when they said she was essentially Harmony from BtVS. Her voice/physical appearance reminded me of Busy Phillips at first...but a way less awesome version.
