Nothing. Kings don't mess with the North for a reason. Not to mention the fact that Dany doesn't need the North's help anyway. Cersei barely has an army as it is.
-
The more I think about it, the more I realize that Jon's a dumbass who committed the North to a war that he didn't have to. If I was a Northerner, I'd be pissed right now. He went down there to get help and dragon glass, came back giving up their independence when he didn't even have to.

I don't think Tyrion will do any such thing. He might joke around with her about it, but that's likely as far as they'll go in terms of addressing the marriage. If it becomes politically prudent for them to acknowledge the marriage, then they'll do so(which is what I think will happen), if not, they'll move on.

Admittedly, Dany has made some great moves, problem is the stuff she did in between with this seat of her pants method. Hell, let's just look at Mereen. She took over freed the slaves and destabilized the economy so bad that their were people actually requesting to go back into slavery. A terrorist organization rose on her watch and she damn there caused a riot. If anything, Mereen should prove that method doesn't work over the long haul. So when I hear Dany talking about breaking the wheel and Tyrion seems to be working more on her plan than she is, I start to worry. Is her rule just more of the same with her just being a gentler leader than the previous administrations? No idea why people are hung up on Ned's method for executing people. Not every leader has to follow Ned's example to be effective. If anything, I tend to think that Sansa not doing that is more hints at her destiny not being in the North, so I was fine with that scene.
-
I'm not talking about humane wise. I'm talking about having customized executions meant to instill fear due to the method which is what dragon fire is. Who's not giving Stannis shit for setting people on fire? Who's calling out Arya on the Frey massacre? Why is the misogyny card being forced into a conversation where there is none?
-
If you must execute a prisoner than yes not using dragonfire would be reccomended. Didn't lysa get shit for her extreme way of killing people? Perhaps. I guess I expected at least some hatred on his face and in his words. I always felt underneath it all that he really truly hated the Starks and the tullys. I expected his death to reflect that.

Stanis is a religious fanatic who burned his daughter alive. I'm pretty sure nobody would disagree with the fact that he was a terrorist or that what Cersei did to the sept was terrorism. Doesn't change the fact that killing a pow by dragonfire is a terrorist act.

This show never had a handle on littlefinger past season 4 so I stopped even trying with him. I'm surprised they didn't have Littlefinger pissing himself at the end.
-
Vision and implementation was implied when I stated she should stick to one plan or the other. Didn't say she had to be perfect just better, you said perfect to make a t seem like I'm demanding too much from her. What you just descrbed is the proverbial wheel. So you're saying Dany's full of shit?

Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
Oscirus replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
I suspect the season premiere will be about the Starks getting together one last time before they finally break apart for good and follow their destinies. -
I agree the trial should have been much more convincing. The maester could have testified that LF asked for that letter under the false pretenses of Sansa asking for it, which he then lied to Sansa about. Suddenly confronting him and exposing that he lied to her in front of the whole court would have unnerved him and made his subsequent collapse more credible. Re: Arya and Sansa, I think it's to Sansa's credit that she was willing to question her own conclusions about Arya, and ask Bran for help, while Arya was quite happy to ask for no input from Bran on her own conclusions about Sansa - conclusions which had her accusing Sansa of potential treason and waving a knife at her while talking about cutting her face off. But further discussion about that should probably be taken to an appropriate character thread. To be fair to Littlefinger, he was legit shocked. He went from spectator watching his puppet do what he wanted to becoming a suspect in a trial for things that nobody should've known in the blink of an eye. I don't suspect most people would have been prepared for such an occasion.
-
So am I reading all this right? If Bran didn't have xmen powers, Sansa would've tried to kill her sister? Are you fucking kidding me? Please tell me he was misinterpreting the script.
-
Why is is that whenever people defend Dany they compare her to other rulers? By her own words she's supposed to be better than other rulers. If she want to conquer than become the queen of ash and conquer, if not, then stop acting like previous rulers, either way, stop being half assed about it. Tyrion's trying to help her break the wheel. So no, he's not being a hypocrite, he's doing his job and trying to stop her from being seen as a replica of her father. That's not how that works. If you have to give the kill order to someone or something else then you're not swinging anything. It's weird that people bring up incest but don't bring up that Tywin was married to his cousin. I don't have a problem with the aunt nephew part of it as much as, how it's going to look to the Northerners. Jon just gave up North's independence to someone that he's in a relationship with. If I'm a Northerner, I'm wondering what the hell.

No rebellion, no dance of the dragons, no Duncan and egg He wanted Sansa isolated
-
I always saw it as Sansa wearily trusting littlefinger until he gave her that stupid piece of advice. After that she knew she had to get rid of him once and for all. He basically said you'd know everything you need to know about the rebellion by the end of this series.

I see this episode as one that tried to do way to much. This show definitely would've benefitted if it had one more episode to do everything they wanted.

You can't insert 21 st sensibilities into a story where there is none. She knew the score growing up. Very few noble people male or female got to marry who they wanted so that excuse doesn't fly. Lyanna choosing some handsome prince that she barely knew over her family, doesn't make her a feminist hero. If you're not willing to accept the consequences for your actions then no you dont get to play the victim card. Especially if you continue your honeymoon while your family getting slaughtered.
-
How are they deploying it? So far we've seen three methods, Flinging it with a catapault (the stupid method) Using a distraction and lighting it from a distance ( probably won't work against the undead), pouring it in a place where your target will be and using a candle timer. It's more of a last resort type of weapon. They're all hypocrites. Lyanna's a hypocrite too. Thats just a function of being a lord/lady in those times
-
I'm sorry but you don't get to claim woman's rights if you abandon your family for a handsome prince that you barely knew for a day.
-
Truth be told, his anger at the loss of lyanna had more to do with the fact that he couldn't be Ned's brother than anything else. Lyanna would lose her family but that ultimately affects nothing. As to the Starks, I can't imagine that they'd allow someone to interrupt family politics without any repurcussions. If they did so, they'd appear weak and that would be even worse. Not sure if the Baratheon s would be cool with the Targs shitting on them again after what was done to them in the not so distant past.
-
In that scenario, Lyanna gets disowned and the Starks and baratheons still call their banners. Brandon and Rickard still live but I believe the war still happens.
-
Considering the way she grew up and what she was allowed to do in public , I doubt that she was bought up in a household where she was mentally or physically abused. The only reason why they hid was to stop the Starks from stopping the wedding until it was too late ( her having a baby). That it occurred to neither of them that people would assume she was kidnapped and react accordingly, or that Brandon was a hothead who damn there got himself in trouble at that tournament or even that his father was insane is a bit appalling. Especially given that Rhaegar was slated to rule the country in the near future.
-
Unless they were sending secret ravens back and forth, the initial flee and hide in Dorne plan was all Rhaegars. Lyanna being the fierce independent woman that she is just went along with it.
-
Tyrion only agreed to the use of wildfire in the blackwater for 2 reasons: 1. To stop his sister from using it 2. He was able to deploy it in a way that it wasn't any dangr to any of his men. As for who else knows, the hound and Jorah, He was doing more than talking shit to Tyrion at that point. That being said I'd put it more on Dany and her team than Jon.

There's plenty of hints that Sansa being better at being the lady of winterfell then her bothers Arya and Arya never says that Sansa being LOW doesn't bother her she danced around the question and used that quote that she cited earlier. I got the exact opposite impression. This whole seasons been about Arya doing an about face from what we were previously shown. She's not a tomboy because she didn't want to be a lady, she became one because she felt inferior to Sansa and Catelyn. That's what I got from the quote.
