Ha. Don’t worry for a second...my mother loved it...but she was wrong. I think it’s disgusting and so does my sister, so clearly we missed the fruitcake-loving chromosome. Whew!

My mother LOVED fruitcake and I sent her one every month for years. I believe I was their sole customer from April to November. Collins Street Bakery really should have sent me a sympathy card after she died. On topic: Jill and fruitcake is just redundant.

They’re full of shit. Obviously it’s entirely possible to walk into convenience store (pre-Covid, anyway) and not even go near the alcohol. They’re just grandstanding their own saintliness, which I’m pretty sure the Bible suggests you lose points for. Buy milk for the kids? Please. JB just wanted Twinkies and Hohos. Hope and Stead. Ren and Stimpy. Beavis and Butthead. Eye and roll.

The bird’s in the oven, the rolls are baked, my own secret gravy stock blend is simmering away and the stuffing is made and awaiting its turn in the oven. The house smells like butter, wine and garden sage. It’s been such a shitty year, especially for many on this forum, as well as for so many millions we don’t know. I miss my mom. It was four years ago on Thanksgiving that we finally convinced my parents to move into assisted living...my dad died a year later, mom lasted until this summer. Doesn’t time march on...for better and for worse. Thank you to all of you for being here, for your kindness, and our kinda odd but very real friendship. It’s meant a lot to me. Happy Thanksgiving!

I am going to nitpick that none of those three...not Jeremy, not Jinger and most certainly not Michelle would be considered any kind of celebrity in LA. There are people more famous than they are parking cars between acting jobs.

If Doc is such a fan that he ignores basic precautions during a global pandemic then he needs to have his license yanked. The actual parents, MASKED, not chinning them, real masks, maybe. But Grandma from out of town and her bullshit bandana can stay in the damned car and NOT potentially infect everyone in the waiting room, the exam room and the restroom.

I think if Jeremy weren’t such a hyper-pretentious designer-kissing Hollywood-thirsty cappuccino-sucking agent-hiring pocket-square wearing fountain-pen shlepping famewhore, nobody would have snarked all that hard on the hillbilly potential of this child’s name. But he is and it’s no surprise people with a functioning bullshit detector are pointing it out.

Is it typical to see the pediatrician so soon after leaving a hospital?

As mostly an atheist, I feel much the same way...especially the seven dogs and five cats I’ve loved and had to watch leave (wouldn’t that be a chaotic reunion scene)...but maybe heaven is how you define it? Hugs at you...

@Scarlett45, all I can say is that if there is a heaven, you’re going straight to the head of the line.

I am sure you’ve tried everything, but is there some indoor activity you mom could do with your sister while you lock yourself in another room? Jigsaw puzzles? Board games? Coloring books for grownups? Seems like you have one bored person and one person who needs a lot of attention. Maybe there’s a way to get that combo together somehow? Sending a big hug and a very large drink!
