a vengeful Brooke come to see what her former lover has wrought upon her son and sister.

Considering what Brooke did to said sister, I'm not sure she really has a leg to stand on vengeance wise (at least for Katie). Plus, Katie doesn't seem that sad about the Ridge situation. She knew things were over and she broke up with him.

chasing his sister-in-law's skirt in some desperate attempt to relive his glory days with her namesake and simultaneously stick it to Rick.

I don't see that at all. I don't see Ridge trying to 'stick it' to Rick. There have been no scenes showing Ridge plotting or planning that way.

stop using her Chorus to badger him

I thought the Greek Chorus was singing on their own, I didn't realize Caroline forced or talked them into singing their song.  I'm tired of the chorus for sure and fully believe they ought to have more to do, but still I must have missed something if Caroline has been the one directing them.

since making his marriage with Caroline work would have been the best way to hurt Ridge

Good point. I'm glad that today Caroline finally seemed to get that Rick isn't worth it.

no one else will even acknowledge how truly awful Caroline and Ridge's actions were

I know what they did was terrible. Absolutely. And i think Rick should express his pain. But he isn't expressing pain. He's acting out like a bratty baby. Why can't he express sorrow and still be an adult? The writers put Rick into the position of scheming like a toddler instead of acting like a man.

And sorry, as far as I'm concerned a few kisses hardly compares to Rick sleeping with Maya every 2 minutes in that stupid bath tub.

But it turns out she didn't, right, we found out today Nik did that on his own for...why again?

Hmmm, okay apparently I wasn't paying enough attention. And Nik did this why?

Because Emily is dead. He's reclaiming his Cassadine-ness.

    It makes no sense, naturally.

Ah thank you for the answer!

  3. Although I thought an entire episode of crying mothers was a bit much, I still enjoyed the episode overall. Mainly because I felt like the episode made most of the HW's look like real people with real emotions instead of silly stupid women fighting over dumb crap.

Brandi says Eddie's name how many times per episode, yet she bitches when they mention her during their reality show?

Brandi is a complete waste of space. She certainly doesn't know the meaning of irony. And her bitching about 1000 a week for food?!? GTFO! Hey Eddie send me that money, I will be very grateful and happy for it!

Eileen continues to make this show for me. I liked Lisa R again too but wow those lips. Lisa stop doing those exercises!

Lisa V and her son? Yikes. I generally have enjoyed her on this show but did not like her stance on how this kid is somehow different because he's adopted (and therefore has lazy genes or something).

Next week looks like a hot mess and I'm not sure i'm up for it!

I definitely do not watch for the so-called story telling, because Ron does not know how to tell a story from beginning to middle to end.

Exactly. Now I'll be honest, I came back to the show when I read Robin was returning. I really enjoyed the show then (that was what 2012?). I thought Robert and Anna running around trying to find Robin was fun ... with Luke actually acting like Luke of old. Even though I didn't like Sabrina, I enjoyed seeing the Nurse's Ball again. I thought Robin's reunion with Patrick and Emma was good stuff. It also seemed like the mob had been marginalized to a degree. Sonny wasn't on every single day. I hated Stavros being back, but I enjoyed seeing Laura not being a wig on a stick. I liked seeing Laura and Luke going to save Lulu.

But then RC had to get the OLTL people back as different characters and the show just seemed to go off the rails and it hasn't recovered.

I think JZ has done some terrific work lately with this Fluke mess. I wasn't always the biggest fan of Maura on ATWT, but as horrible as Ava can be - MW has been really great. Michael telling off Carly and Sonny? Gold. I enjoyed Julian and Alexis. I love me some Brad and Lucas (of course when was the last time we saw them together)?

There are so many things that just confound me: Carly is perhaps one of the least likeable soap characters ever and yet I don't believe for an instant that she would have slept with let alone contemplated marrying the man who got her favored son raped. I don't believe that Carly wouldn't be stalking and bugging Michael every 5 minutes. I refuse to believe that Bobbie, Scott, Lucy and so many other vet characters would be acting like high school children. I refuse to believe that Robin's family would be this stupid after everything that happened to her. I also hate that RC cannot seem to get that there's nothing wrong with Robin living somewhere else and having Emma part time.

I'm tired of corn jokes, of Golden Girls mentions and of Spencer. The entire Fluke/Luke thing is terrible. Helena's current reign of terror - the hell? She's taking over the Port Chuck mob scene. She rigged the mayoral election. She's taking over ELQ. She has Jake brainwashed. Now Rosalie is a bad guy too. Agent Sloane (is that his name) is also in league with the league of evil. I mean seriously?

There are a few positives still floating out there on this show and I certainly do not want it to be cancelled - I love soaps. But for me the bad outweighs what little good is left. And despite my promise to stop watching ... I still saw today's episode.

All of the constant hand-wringing, play-by-play analysis, rehashing and speculation has killed this storyline for me.

Not me. I'm really okay with it taking some time. Personally, I'm tired of soap romances going at the speed of light. Caroline is married. She messed up that marriage by kissing Ridge. I don't think a few days or even a couple of weeks is all that much time for someone to want to decompress from all that's happened.

Having said that, I loved that last scene! I won't lie and say I didn't enjoy a little push forward!

For me, it seemed painfully obvious when Maya kept asking him the same damn question and he looked like a deer in the headlights and tried to change the subject:

Maya: I NEED to HEAR those three words from you!!!!!!

Rick:.......uh...um...Maya, you know how I feel about you! You're so loyal and supportive! I need you!

Yeah I would have run for the hills. Hell, I would have even after he said those words when he went and answered Caroline's call while in bed! Ummm Maya? That's a perfect example of Rick using you to hurt Caroline. Again, I'm not saying Rick doesn't love Maya but he is doing these things more to hurt Caroline than anything else.

I guess all it took was her pissing on her marriage vows with Rick's brother and not telling the complete truth at any point for the "real" Rick to come out.

But what happened with Caroline and Ridge wasn't her trying to maliciously hurt Rick. She wasn't setting up scenario's to cause him pain. Rick is an asshat. If he's so over Caroline, he wouldn't feel compelled to have her come to the house to see Maya's portrait on the wall. And he certainly would not have answered that call while in bed with the new Forrester matriarch (hahahahaha).

Me? I'm saving this episode for a while ...

We don't have all the answers.  We're supposed to be tuning in day after day, week after week to find out what's coming up.  We're supposed to be left wondering why things are happening.

I've watched soap my entire life, so I understand what a continuing drama should be. In my opinion,, the current GH is not continuing drama. It is a show that teeters from one plot point to the other with no build up at all. The stories are not confusing because we don't have all the answers. The stories are confusing because RC and his writers have no idea what the answers are in the storylines.

but the set-up is part of the storytelling

I don't see any set-up here. We never saw Felicia thinking about running for mayor or campaigning for office. Suddenly, voting was going on and then nothing for months. That's not set-up to me. That's a plot point that's just left hanging out there.

This Fluke/Luke stuff has been going on for over a year. Now I will grant that TG illness caused things to be delayed, but why did we have to restart the whole thing from the beginning once he returned? And what have we learned? Why is Fluke doing this? Who is Fluke? Why did he act completely notLuke like the first time around (and amazingly no one noticed) but now suddenly is acting like Luke?!?

Why would Helena with all her resources chose to brainwash Jason a low life mob enforcer? Why not just one line that makes some damn sense on the subject? The 'you have a unique set of skills soldier boy' doesn't cut it at all since the audience knows good and well that Jason had no unique skills and he was not a soldier.

    It goes on and on.

  7. RC has finally defeated me. I cannot watch this crap anymore. I can't. Nothing I am seeing on-screen makes a lick of sense! We saw a couple of scenes about Felicia running for mayor. We hear one throw away line about a recount and now this?!? Really???? I don't care about Luke/Fluke at all. I don't care about Jake. I don't care about the Nina or Franco.

    I'm out.

This dude is a grown man, and I'm tired of all of these people telling him that he'll lose Caroline forever. Oh well. He made his bed, he can lie in it.

Rick is allegedly a grown man. Personally all I see is a giant diaper wearing baby. But I do agree that every one needs to shut down the Caroline talk with him. Who cares if he loses Caroline? She's much better off.

    Caroline the perfect little pwincess.

I'm hearing plenty of lines from Baby!Rick about how perfect Maya is - how she would never betray him ... blah blah matriarch .. blah blah.

I realize Stephanie was over the top about Ridge, but she was still his mother. You know, like Brooke is your mom, and has enabled and molleycoddled you your entire life? And why the fuck would you hate Ridge because of the way his mother loved him?

Yep Rick continues his march of stupidity.

even subscribed to Soap Opera Digest so I'm surprised that I never knew this

Me too and I never knew Jon Lindstrom was her 2nd husband until very recently. So funny! I do remember reading about her and VVP hooking up when he was on the show and a bit about that stuff, but nothing like a big deal. Maybe the soap press didn't cover it much? Or maybe it was during the time I wasn't reading Soap Digest as much.

I just don't see why everyone has to be perfect all over their entire body and if they're not put on a mumu.

For gosh sakes no one has to be perfect or otherwise walk around in a mumu. I guess I wasn't clear enough. I'm tired of watching Brandi's boobs falling out of all her outfits. She can show cleavage without falling out of her dress, blouse or whatever.

Has plastic surgery been ruled out as a possibility?

Well Fluke kind of did during a scene that feels like a million years ago. He basically told Luke he didn't need plastic surgery. I think when Fluke visited Luke at the asylum. Of course, I could be remembering that wrong, but I swear that convo happened.

I believe neither Luke nor Leia had any clue they were related when they made-out.

They did not know they were related. And is one kiss really making out? I've seen those movies many times and I have no recollection of anything other than a single kiss!

I believe Brandi's issue with Eileen is she is boring.

I don't find Eileen the least bit boring but I suppose a whack job like Brandi would find someone who acts like an adult 'boring.'

Brandi isn't very interesting if you ask me. Acting out doesn't equal interesting. Not in my book. Brandi isn't particularly funny, she doesn't have any actual skills, she doesn't have a business or something like that. She's only 'known' because she of her divorce and then getting on this show.

Also? I'm tired of her flashing those vein-y boobs of hers.

or an inability to show the level of feeling I'm expecting or something just not clicking with me, but she takes me out of every scene.

I think it's inability to show feeling because I don't think Karla Mosley is a very good or competent actress.

Is anyone else getting tired of the silly, and over-used, helicopter shots that B&B uses?

I watch a couple of web soaps where the same technique is used so I'm used to them. However, I kind of go back and forth with these establishing shots. They are beautiful, but at the same time why do they need to be so long?

I like Ivy. The actress is good and I like that the writers have made her fairly smart. Although, I wish she and some of the other Greek chorus would stop with the Rick wants to be with Caroline stuff. I believe Rick still loves Caroline, but that might not be enough given the whole Ridge incident. Plus, Caroline clearly hasn't let go of the Ridge thing.

It's time for Caroline to accept Rick wants a divorce and give him that. Let him be with Maya and move on.

Unless I wasn't hearing right, didn't Eric tell Ridge that he wasn't going off on vacation because of what Rick did? If that is the case, where the heck is he?

You heard exactly right. It feels like the writers forgot this completely. I mean where is Eric? Shouldn't he have gone home by now to find Maya's portrait on the wall? That's a scene I want to see!

I have keys to my childhood home because my mom still lives there.

But the Spencer's no longer live there and still have keys?!? No one in my family still lives in our childhood home and no one has keys to it ether.

This Fluke/Luke crap is just stupid. I honestly have no idea what's going on with this story anymore and I don't care who Fluke is. What I want to know is: how long has Luke allegedly been in that basement tied up. I mean does Fluke get someone to feed and water him? Humans can only live so long without water. And where is Luke going to the bathroom? Just give me a break with this stuff.

RC move the story along or stop. This show is such a mess. I didn't even bother to watch this week. When I'd rather watch The Bold and The Beautiful, things are bad at GH.

As far as the wine throw at Eileen, I have to wonder if Eileen's been living under a rock for the last few years.  If not she might have heard that Brandi's husband dumped her for LeeAnn Rimes and the battle has been epic ever since.  I couldn't believe my ears when Eileen started rattling off the romantic tale of how she and Vince were married to other people when they found each other and decided their marriage vows didn't mean squat.  I mean okay, whatever, not judging here but don't just lay it out there in front of Brandy.  It's like waving a red flag in front of a bull.

Actually, Eileen mentioned that to Brandi. It's not like she ignored Brandi's history. But what does any of that have to do with Brandi? People get cheated on everyday. It happens and unfortunately some more publicly than others. Eileen's story wasn't a secret. It made the rounds in the press back in the day. I'm betting super fan Brandi probably already knew all about it. Plus, for Eileen this is her romantic tale. She finally met the person she was meant to be with. It wasn't perfect but it's her story. Is Brandi going to run around the toss wine into the faces of all cheaters? She'd be wasting a lot of damn wine.

I could sit and watch Eileen and Lisa smack talk people all day long

I think I said it before, but the very first scene with these two way at the beginning of the season seemed very forced and fake. But lately, I think I do see a friendship and closeness there. Their scenes made the episode for me. Oh and Lisa climbing into that amazing refrigerator.

there was something about Eileen's reaction/retelling to others that rubbed me the wrong way.  Like she was some simpering historical belle of the south.  "Why, I have no IDEA why she threw all that wine at me. It was so horrible

I think she was pretty shocked and unhappy with that. I'll tell you what, I think if you get wine tossed into your face (or any drink really) you have the right to be upset. She didn't sound like a simpering historical belle of the South to me at all. She sounded like a woman who was confused over what the hell happened and what the hell is wrong with Brandi.

    don't like slut-shaming either

I don't either. I don't care if a woman sleeps with every dude in Hollywood, I'm never using terms like slut or whore to describe her. If Brandi likes sex with a bunch of different people and likes to brag about it well then that's her choice. I wouldn't want to live like that but I'm not going to call her names. Men can act the same way and we hardly ever hear them being called names like that so I won't do it to a fellow woman. Even one who I think is a complete idiot.

I think there was a lot more to that scene of King David telling Brandi that Babyface is married. I'll bet much ended up on the editing floor.

I really believe that she got caught up in the soap opera moment and lost her mind for a second!

I don't care if she allegedly temporarily lost her mind, throwing any kind of liquid at someone is just stupid and gross.

I've been a soap fan my entire life and I've watched both Days and Y&R for many years, so I can imagine losing my brain power if I met Eileen Davidson. However, I still wouldn't be throwing 40 bucks at her, demanding she reenact a scene from either show and then tossing a drink at her. Because I'm not an idiot like Brandi.

  17. Losing Hope has been the best thing in the world for this show! B&B is  on fire and I never thought I'd ever be this entertained by this show. Confession time: I only started watching the show way back when because my brother was married to Darlene Conley's niece. DC was at the wedding and I remembered her from Y&R, so had to start checking out this show. B&B though has never successfully kept me engaged for the long haul. And certainly with the last 2 - 3 years being all about Hope - ugggh.

But lately? Awesome soapy fun. I loved the Eric/Ridge convo today. I thought Caroline was finally getting tough and standing up for herself at the end of her talk with Rick today. Rick can shut up and go change his diaper. And Maya taking over the house immediately? Get out of here. So Rick is the CEO (did you hear??) and that means he now takes over the house too?!?

Even lame Carter was okay today.

I've only seen her with the plastic surgery though. Maybe if I saw more of her in the early days I'd feel different.

You would believe me. Get thee to youtube for proof!!

When Mr. Moving and I were watching the Fluke/Carrrrlos scene the both of us shouted "Carrrrlos shoot him!!!!"

I do that every single time one of these idiots goes on and on about Fluke threatening them etc. The dude isn't walking around town with a security staff - kill him and end this nonsense.

He's set his sights on Sam now but that doesn't mean he has to act as if Robin is on a Norwegian cruise line.

At this point, I don't care if Patrick moves on with anyone. I just wish RC would just let Robin be free living elsewhere and having Emma visit her every other weekend or something. It's just beyond ridiculous to me to keep on with this Robin is held prisoner again and somehow neither Patrick nor Anna suspect a thing! Despite knowing all who was involved with the whole mess.

In all things, RC makes the characters too stupid to live. Fluke was so obviously not Luke last year it was absolutely insulting that no one seemed to notice.

It has everything to do with it because all the Logans including Rick have ever heard from Ridge and his clan is how they weren't "real Forresters"

I don't know anything about that since I didn't see it. I will say, it's pretty lame of any character to say Rick or Bridget aren't real Forrester's when their dad is Eric. And it would be just as bad to say Ridge isn't a real Forrester just because of Massimo. Ridge was raised by Eric as his son.

His feelings did hurt his relationship with Katie but she was the mature one and broke it off - Ridge didn't dump her publicly and humiliate her as much as possible at the same time.

I really enjoyed those scenes. One of the few times in this show that anyone acted like an adult. Katie knew things were over and ended things nicely and maturely.

His father put an unreasonable demand on him related to him retaining the CEO position.

Yeah that whole Rick has to stay married to Caroline thing was stupid.
