  1. Thank you. There is NOTHING wrong or shameful about wanting a partner to spend the rest of your life with. It takes time and trial and error. Someone is bound to rack up some numbers in that department because it isn’t easy finding a partner that you want to spend the rest of your life with. Yeah, some people may be date one or two people and then find a soulmate, but that certainly isn’t common. Think of all the people on dating apps! Heh. I see nothing inappropriate about the number of men she’s been with given her age. And even if she was younger? I still wouldn’t find it inappropriate because she is a consenting adult involved in a relationship with another consenting adult.
  2. This is one of my favorite episodes -- if not my most favorite episode -- of the season. Everyone's storylines were well done. I related to so many of the little moments -- Beth finding the last clover; Madison's EXCITEMENT about her wedding dress having pockets (What woman can't relate????) -- and then the icing on the cake was the KC and JoJo at the end. Loved it.
  3. This post is perfect, particularly the last sentence. To say that there’s absolutely no way race could’ve played a part in voting is textbook gaslighting when there’s PLENTY of evidence that the academy has engaged in racist behavior in the past. It’s the definition of “don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining.”
  4. People have the right to their beliefs, and believing that there was not a shot in hell that the Academy was going to let all four acting categories be won by actors of color is not an unreasonable or unfounded belief. #OscarsSoWhite was only, what, six years ago? Hardly ancient history. I have nothing against Anthony Hopkins. I think he's a great actor and was great in The Father. However, I'm not going to pretend as if I'm not annoyed that the Academy picked the "safe" choice, IMO. That doesn't make my opinion annoying or disrespectful. The Academy is hardly a shining beacon of diversity, and it's more than earned that reputation. If they wanted to be thought of as better, then they should've acted better in their 93 year history.
  5. Nah, they think the only reason Chadwick didn't win is that they had to give the award to "an old white guy." The Twitter mob are idiots. Highlighting the Academy's problematic racial disparities doesn't make them idiots. It makes them aware. I also think the Academy chose the old white guy over the Black guy, too. Guess I'm an idiot?
  6. That's a bit elitist IMO. Ma Rainey is on Netflix, an extremely popular streaming platform. Everyone I've seen talking about Chadwick specifically mentioned his performance in the movie. Also, for the record, those "Twittiots" are people, too, with valid opinions of their own. No need to call them idiots because they don't agree with the winner. Well, I'm someone of the "everyone," and I care about who wins makeup and sound. They deserve the spotlight, too.
  7. Let's be real. No way, no how was the Academy going to allow actors of color to sweep all four acting categories. SAG had it right.
  8. Don't get me wrong, Frances McDormand is a great actress. However, she just won for Best Actress 3 years ago. This is really underwhelming, IMO.
  9. My feelings regarding Tyler Perry as a creator are super complicated. That being said, he's always been a good humanitarian.
  10. I agree. I actually really like the format. It's the lack of clips that's rather appalling.
  11. Well, it would be a little odd for people to clap. "the police kill three people every day." *applause, cheers* Yeah, you don't really applaud that. It doesn't mean that they disagreed.
  12. It's offensive. I agree, so they should stop killing people. Happy that If Anything Happens... won.
  13. I cried a little when Derek said, "You gave me what I needed until my last breath." I imagine that's what any spouse would like to hear their partner tell them. However, Derek having to essentially beg Meredith to go back, so she can be with their children was a TERRIBLE look. Egads. It was so unbelievably selfish that I don't think I can look at her the same way, and I'm someone that generally likes Meredith. On a lighter note, when Bailey asked, "Was the poem about murder?" I laughed. It was such a logical question, LOL.
  14. I know plenty of people that call her that. I've seen it several times. Also, I don't particularly care about an interview from 1998. It's 2021. People can change and things change. *shrug* I care a hell of a lot more about what people who work and interact with her on an ongoing basis think about her as I stated when I linked to that InStyle interview.
  15. I believe what I said, and I do not have to justify my opinion.
  16. It seems pretty misogynic to blame Jennifer for the failure of this relationship and expect her to do some soul searching before embarking upon a new relationship. Why do we hold women to higher standards than men? A-Rod is a parent. Shouldn't he be the one who needs to work on not cheating on his partner??? What a wonderful example he is setting for his children. It’s one hundred percent a double standard rooted in misogyny. Also, I have no questions about her parenting skills. She spends a lot of time with them, and they seem to really love her. Jennifer Lopez is definitely family oriented, and I think that comes from her upbringing.
  17. I have the right to share my UO, and I stand by it and the fact that it’s a UO.
  18. Yes, which is why I shared it in this thread. I don't understand this. A thespian is an actor. She acts. A vocalist is a singer. She sings.
