  1. I agree that the cost of resurrection must be prohibitive. I will also be interested to see what Matt Ryan's Constantine and what he brings to the Berlanti DCTVU. After all the hype, I hope they allow him a worthwhile guest spot.
  2. There are times for me when the phrase "Empty vessels make the most noise" is brought strongly to mind. I don't know about anyone else's experience, but for me, the men and women I respect the most for their skills and abilities in both the services and the martial worlds are quiet and unassuming. They prefer to "go quietly" with or without the big stick. Just my experience though. I find chest beating to be precisely that for the most part.
  3. Personally, I think KL is wonderful and hope the writers find it in themselves to create a way for Nyssa to believably be off canvas and able to return. I prefer to think of Sara and Nyssa getting a HEA (as far as they can) at the end of the show/s. As for death in general on Berlanti comic shows now? It is simply a harder sell.
  4. I would like both of the above suggestions were it not for the Lazarus Pit. The writers let that genie out of the bottle and now there's no going back to a pre-mysticism Arrow. My theory for achieving a True Death in this or other comics based shows involves beheading, immolation resulting in cremation and the burying of only some of those ashes in salted earth, the rest to be scattered on the winds. I like to be thorough when seeking no return for a character. Please let us not even contemplate Earth 2 characters in Arrow. (Shudders)
  5. One would hope for growth in the writers and an ability to potentially predict the negative impact that Nyssa's death would have in the audience. I agree with Morrigan2575 that whilst character death is their default mode, there are other options. Can we possibly 'jailbreak' some of these writers imaginations please?
  6. Forced female friendship fails. Laurel and Felicity. Sigh. For me, the Laurel has a Light speech written for Felicity to deliver was a particularly repugnant piece of Sara character assassination. IMO it was unapologetic propping. Sara post the training mat mambo is not a character that I especially enjoy (though I have immense respect for Caity Lotz's martial abilities), but the systematic assault of the writers on the qualities they'd previously established for her was unconscionable. It certainly did nothing to lend any credibility for me to Laurel's BC arc.
  7. Laurel Lance as portrayed by Katie Cassidy is the reason I stopped watching Arrow. I only YT LL free scenes these days. It is that simple.
  8. Mention of Isabel now got me wondering what it was she really hated Felicity for... argh. As for the FB relationship I hope its more than just another nail in the coffin of the Twue Wuv kept OQ going for 5 years in Hell. It would be far more interesting had the character a juicy backstory establishing them as a manipulator par excellence and OQ being a mark. How prevalent is the theory that she's going to be involved in ShadowSpire?
  9. I got this impression as well. Another reason to maintain my extended hiatus. This has been a bleak season for me so far. It contrasts sharply with s2Act1.
  10. Currently my hiatus is lasting through to 3.18 and Mama Smoak. Nothing I have seen or heard is tempting me to return. Not a fan of fast food so I'll pass on the KFC snack box with a family sized side of propping.
  11. Colour me cynical but I wouldn't be surprised if the Big Bad turns out to be Ra's who hears whispers that The Arrow lives, comes to Starling again but this time, he inveigles his way into OQ's life by way of dating a certain ex girlfriend. It keeps her in the plot and makes the finale personal after a fashion. I base this on an old spoiler that LL was getting a love interest and an even older comics story that had Dinah and Ra's. This is not to say I want this to happen, just that I can see it.
  12. Oh now that's an excellent idea! I've been enjoying Constantine.
  13. Yes he did have it. You see it stuck in the bottom corner of a photo frame on the desk in his room in the early s1 episodes.
  14. At this point, I think the only things they're shrinking about this ATOM is the size of his tech. Perhaps the shrinking Ray himself won't occur until a Flash crossover. Personally, I noted that DR said heroes and not superheroes so to me, that means Diggle and Felicity can still be considered heroes and in their own ways are more fully formed than Roy and certainly more so than Ray or Laurel. I discount Ted simply because he is so far only back for one further episode. If there is one thing that MG has been trying to reinforce as he moves to down play the 3.10-3.12 arc, it is that a mask and costume do not necessarily a superhero make. I'll be on here and reading reviews about it as it unfolds. I will not be watching nor contributing any promotion or support to this arc.
  15. Still bitter about being force fed a 'Black' Canary by the writers and EPs when we don't have a 'Green' Arrow yet.
  16. Many of sarcasticfina's are excellent! If I could make one suggestion it would be to stick with her completed works as she's been on an extended hiatus from Arrow fics since early in the year.
  17. It is this kind of inconsistency, emphasised by the whole mixing 2.06 with 2.14 that really makes me want to SMH. With $4M lying around he had to wait until Thea offered to share an (admittedly prime) apartment funded by MM? Please. If I kept watching (apart from the crossover which I will watch) I'd be giving them permission to just insult my intelligence some more. There's willing suspension of disbelief and then there's "I really need more alcohol before I can even vaguely accept this steaming, stenching pile." Hence YT for select scenes for me.
  18. *facepalm* All of the above specs seem solid. sadly they simply reaffirm my choice to watch only ep 3.08 in the foreseeable future. Thanks for the considered speculations. Forewarned and all that...
  19. I gave up on this fic around chapter 15 so you stuck it out longer than I. Whilst I am fine with Brulicity or Bruce/Felicity in general, in this fic I could not relate to his character. Yes, I know Bruce is a controlling SoB with issues but he is not this dire to me in my experience of the character. Of particular issue for me was just how far out of character Felicity was portrayed; to an extent where I could no longer root for nor like her. Her tearful family history from 2.13 which, in addition to the cocktail waitress comment, was all we had in canon to that point, seemed to play with Oliver given the backstory created . The final note for me was when the author described Felicity in her reply to my comment as "She can be highly manipulative, she has secrets, her hands are no longer as clean as they once were." Felicity is growing and evolving on screen but I hope I never see a version of her that is "highly manipulative". JMHO.
  20. I only plan on watching 3.05 and 3.08 of this mess. The reasons I loved to tune in do not seem to be a priority in future episodes.
  21. I just want for this episode to be truly Felicity-centric and not have them pull a Time of Death on us. We have waited 2 years to find out about her backstory and I'd really like to tune in to this episode after not watching previous ones for reasons a few others relate to.
  22. OMG yes!!! Maybe I'll allow myself to get a little excited after all. Brilliant, radically different look for Felicity. I need to know what her backstory is NOW.
  23. Thank you Writersblock51 for sharing! I couldn't get the twitch link to work and so really appreciate your efforts to recount both and panels and for your informed observations.
  24. I just can't seem to get the posting on these threads right. I'm not trying to be contrary but thought as these had the potential to be spoilers that this was where I should post as opposed to the spoiler free speculation thread. Sorry about that and I'll just refrain from posting from here on.
