  1. Call me cynical, but I suspect that KC had zero input into the design of the E2 outfit. Hence, minimal buckle presence and no domino mask. I mean, why bother with a mask when you're not using greasepaint to distort distinguishing eye shape, etc. ETA: I look forward to the prospect of more FS/QL scenes. I enjoy both actors and their characters.
  2. THIS^^^ It's good to come here and be not alone in my cynicism.
  3. I'd be here for a Donna/Brie stoush.
  4. LOVE that gif! There is a bottle of French champagne already chilling here for when the happy death event arrives. ETA: re the Flashbacks, I suspect they may have filmed 2 episodes worth or at least additional scenes while Alex Kingston was available just to make the best use of Dinah.
  5. With respect, the 'because mask' argument is right up there with 'because comics' to me and I cannot go there. Even as someone who reads and has read comics.
  6. I believe there must be Flashbacks, otherwise I have no idea who it is that a friend of mine labelled Boobs McRussian. The fact that my friend is a woman and came up with the moniker said a lot about these mythical Flashbacks to me. *shrug*
  7. I like the hair, veil and makeup in the faux wedding shots. Whilst I agree that the bodice could be a better fit, the dress itself is inoffensive. At least she isn't in a full on ballgown. That Toilet Roll Doll aesthetic that many go for is hardly a good look. Though, OK, GI Joe can wear it with attitude.
  8. Amnesia is one of the tropiest of tropes. I have zero desire for it. Therefore, I suspect it may be on the EPs and writers radar.
  9. Now THIS I could almost tune back in for....
  10. I thought the head of HIVE was a woman? The HIVE Queen? I must need more tea...
  11. I'm looking forward to some imaginative memes being born of a screen shot of just that moment.
  12. I can see where people could draw comparisons but for me, even in s1, Felicity was wholly confident in her intellect and abilities, it was only social situations that typically caused the babble. Well, that and OQ's abs covered or exposed... Whereas Kara has deliberately been hiding her light and abilities and is only now choosing to embrace them. Yes, she stumbles and I loved the face plant into the underpass, but I get the impression that it's the joy in acknowledgement of her powers and the choice to use them to help people that correlates to her confidence as it increases. I've only had one mug of tea this morning so hope that made sense. Edited due to evil apostrophe
  13. Just watched the Supergirl pilot and quite apart from it being a good 40 years since a superheroine show, for me there was a lot to like. Hell, they even stated in show that a character's daughter 'finally has a role model' and I couldn't agree more. Melissa is appealing in the lead role and I suspect highly relatable for so many young girls/women. I enjoyed Mechad (and his voice) as well as Jeremy's Cisco lite. I will see if I can warm to the sister (it's more than an old Grey's bias too) and don't expect to warm to Calista's Cat unless they plan on giving her more layers later on. I noted the in show observation of the overt and subversive sexism. I won't get into sexism in comics because as we all know, people could write dissertations on that shite. As someone who first gave up comics in protest when they originally killed off Kara Zor El in COIE, I am very satisfied that the tone of the pilot captures almost everything that used to draw me to Kara so many years ago.
  14. That sound you hear on the breeze from a distant continent is me snorting with laughter.
  15. Wow, look at all the errors in that well thought out piece. I think I'll be putting that article in the 'click bait writer who has no clue' pile and move on.
  16. Last season when I considered there was the possibility of the renegotiation of a contract in play I had hope that LL would be moved off the canvas to save salary dollars and screen time as they work to 'fit' the character in. This year even though many logical signs point to the distinct possibility of LL in the grave, I am both wary and weary. Fool me once Arrow writers... Edited to remove random open quote and clearly state my opinion.
  17. Still included in Top 10 'Horrible' and 'Bad' lists in season 4!?!?! Hardly the kind of consistency one should aspire to, but demonstrates to me that I'm not alone in my opinion that the character of Laurel Lance is a canker that should be excised from an otherwise strong season of Arrow.
  18. That smackdown was a thing of rare beauty. I will be interested in this weeks ratings as a result.
  19. Reading about this preview clip just makes me more comfortable in my choice to not watch anymore. I abhor Laurel Lance as written and interpreted by Katie Cassidy. I watch little TV and when I do, it's to enjoy and inform. Nothing about that character has been enjoyable for me and now her continued presence in Team Arrow infects scenes which previously ameliorated my desire to reach through the screen and excise the canker. I am glad though that Nyssa seems to be the Greek Chorus in this. Someone needed to speak for many in the audience. Or not in my case. I'm with John Campea, I may return if they kill Laurel off.
  20. I will forever cringe at Laurel's grin when Sara gave Laurel her jacket end of s2. So many shades of wrong.
  21. Meanwhile I'm sure Atlin is grateful for the job security in a risky business, Also the blonde wig makers.
  22. I remember Prue being written out well. I was an avid fan back in the day. I preferred Piper as a character on many levels but agree that essentially Phoebe ended up as 'lead' character. Piper and Leo didn't have quite the pull that Phoebe and Cole did. Oh now I may have to track down an episode or two. Anyway, with regard to Arrow, there is no parallel to Prue and Felicity. The obvious parallel given 'originating series character' is Laurel.
  23. Could be the case. I think the EPs will go out of their way to establish how settled and happy OQ is in suburbia with Felicity. It makes the wrench to leave his idyll that much harder.
  24. I would deliberately misquote and say "The irony is strong with this one." if I believed for one moment that the irony was actually grasped...
