  1. Sometimes this show scares me... (and here I thought they called him that because they cheat off him)
  2. Depending on what letter of “Jeremy Bearimy” they’re on he could be there no time at all. Or negative time...
  3. "Dick Tracy called. He said you're a buttface and he's been plowing your mom." "Hey, well, Dick Tracy called me, too, first, and he said he was about to call you and say a lie about me that was actually true about you instead." I love Trevor and Michael's very different but equally wrong misunderstanding of how that joke works.
  4. "If we're married, legally you can't arrest me. Plus, bonus, you get half the stuff I stole." "Yep, he just confessed to the robbery." "Damn it!"
  5. Very weird episode, at least 12 minutes shorter than normal for the series (I know streaming shows have more flexibility on run times, but usually that means they tend to run longer, not dramatically shorter) with some choppy editing, and I don't think Lucca appears in it at all. Did they have to do a last minute edit and drop an entire subplot for some reason? The teaser for the season finale also seemed to use mostly past clips.
  6. During the playoffs the show twitter used to follow just the Jaguars and Blake Bortles. Now it looks like Eleanor took over the account from Jason, and it follows things like Steve Austin, Atlanta Housewives and "shrimp". Have to keep an eye open to see if Tahani or Chidi ever take over the show social media accounts.
  7. Holy crap the background details on this show. There are a dozen jokes just in the autocompletes for Eleanor's search for "what do we owe each other". Her top searches just from the letter "w" are wedding fail bride farts wedding fail nip slip wing place has liquor licence phoenix
  8. Don't seem to be any clues, but I want to subscribe to CELEBRITY BABY PLASTIC SURGERY DISASTERS. "Elbow Botox: Totally Worth It!" (edited to add, apparently "Jean-Ralphio" is a Parks&Rec reference. I guess I can do worse things than catch up on that show for the next eight months. Is the model anyone familiar?) The screens in the bar that weren't a basketball game seemed to be a business news channel. The clearest thing I could read had "Hope is in the air" and "The deal machine keeps humming along, but investors may get scathed when the private equity party ends", which I'm not sure I can twist into a clue...
  9. With a day to think about it and get a re-watch in, I'm more positively disposed towards the episode. It still suffers a bit because it follows what might be the three best half-hours of new TV I've seen in years, and has so little interaction among the main cast. The creators have definitely earned enough credit that I'm confident they can either make the Team Cockroach reunites on Earth (real or simulated) concept work, or have a radically different concept that this bridges towards in mind. I just wish it was a mid-season cliffhanger with a continuation coming in a month, not a season finale with eight months to go (at least they gave us the mercy of an early renewal, instead of leaving it up in the air if this was the series finale). I am looking forward to seeing how Michael saved the others, and what tangents their lives took. I kept looking at the background stuff like the TVs in the bar to see if there was some clue about what the others were up to.
  10. I’m not sure about this. Maybe there'll be some quick swerve at the beginning of season 3, because I don’t know if the gang getting re-acquainted on Earth works for very long. I also missed the rest of the cast in the second half. Hate that it'll be something like 9 months before the next part.
  11. "It's a human insult. It's devastating. You're devastated right now."
  12. "Molotov cocktails work. Anytime I had a problem and I threw a Molotov cocktail, boom, right away I had a different problem"
  13. You can’t take what Michael told them pre-revelation as gospel, especially who's in the Bad Place, since he was specifically trying to show Eleanor that she didn’t belong, so might have been lying about those two, every President but Lincoln, etc. and what her point total actually was.
  14. "Fergies are plenty in the Good Place" Was there some reference I'm not getting in Tahani's childhood friend's being Simon, Quentin, Rebecca and Catherine?
  15. Is "ya basic" a real thing, or a show thing? I haven't heard it outside of the show, but I'm not hep to all the new jive, daddy-o.
  16. In fact, I think we see one of Tahani's magazine covers in an Eleanor flashback. Interesting point. We know their memories are suppressed about how they died until Michael makes a point to have them remember. Maybe he also suppressed Eleanor's memories of Tahani if those would distract from the torture plans he had?
  17. Just rewatched it, missed that Chet worked with Trent in "Parts and Decapitations". And Chidi giving that guy a ball tap was great.
  18. "Anytime I had a problem and I threw a Molotov cocktail, boom, right away I had a different problem.” "He makes a strong case."
  19. This might be the first time since I got a dvr that I was watching the clock to make sure I got home on time to watch a scripted program live. this was pretty amazing. Tahani in character. Jason's devotion to Bortles and Molotov cocktails. Good Janet playing Bad Janet. Shawn's "I’m a naughty bitch". Elinor swearing. Michael's sacrifice. Can’t believe it was only a half hour. i guess the Girls Gone Wild guy not being in the Bad Place yet supports the notion that the timelines are fluid, so while hundreds of years might have passed for Michael in the neighbourhood it hasn’t been as long for Shawn or on Earth.
  20. Do the dvds have the extended bits, either as part of the episodes or as deleted scenes? I’ve been trying to decide if I should buy season one now or wait for a complete series set.
  21. Hilarious that the show twitter account is now "Jason Knew The Jaguars Were Quite Good Place" and only follows the Jaguars and Blake Bortles.
  22. When Michael was questioning her with the truth cube out, it did blink green when she said her friend asked her to cohost his show, Anderson Cooper 360. In retrospect we know that everything up to the big reveal could be Michael staging it, but "lies are always more convincing when they’re closer to the truth" so I’ll assume the cube was real. Longest attempt of the first 802 was 11 months (and some were very short) so unless the interim setup time is long it's not close to a thousand, even assuming there's a consistent time scale.
  23. How weird that there's a slim chance the Jacksonville Jaguars could be in a Super Bowl just days after the Good Place season finale. Wonder if they'll find a way to incorporate that into Jason's story (something about the Bad Place freezing over, maybe?). Great to see Bad Janet again. Wherever they end up doing from here, I hope it can include regular appearances of her. I will miss Vicky and the rest of the demons if they're really gone for good. I did kind of wonder what was reported to Shawn. I guess time works differently in the Bad Place, so he doesn't think that this "Version 2" of the neighbourhood has been going on for the hundreds of years that 800 versions took, so he only knows about the current version. They haven't been clear on how long this one has been going on, but it doesn't seem to be more than a few months.
  24. Hey, looks like "Janet" made it to Hamilton after all And a Good Place joke from Lin-Manuel Miranda. Maybe we'll get a musical episode of the show with a guest appearance.
  25. At the risk of invoking the name of fan-favourite player Chris Hardwick, there's some HGN behind the scenes talk by Jane in the episode of Nerdist (early on and in the audience q&a part later). http://nerdist.com/nerdist-podcast-jane-lynch/
