  1. According to this interview and other places they met in November, 2008 and started dating. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20355169,00.html Interesting that in this article she is quoted as saying she wanted to marry before the baby. I didn't say that Skinny Girl didn't exist before Jason came along. It was in it's beginning stages and she was struggling. No one knew at that time if the company was going to take off or not. As for primary custody, do you have a link for that because when I searched I couldn't find anything that stated in NY one parent 'must' have primary custody. You can have joint legal custody or sole legal custody.
  2. As best as I can determine and feel free to correct me, Bethenny and Jason started dating in November of 2008. Her first book was published in 2009. So she wasn't a best selling author before they met. Rich is relative and Bethenny wasn't rich when they met. Especially by NY standards. She was a mini celebrity who had been on MS apprentice and did two seasons of RHNY. She wasn't making tons of money. Even with her Pepperige Farm contract, she talked about struggling to pay the bills. Bethenny and Jason didn't just hop into bed and get pregnant. They were dating for almost a year. They got engaged in October of 2009 and Bryn was supposed to be born in June of 2010. She was five weeks early. I do think that the two really did fall in love. And that it was 'helped' by their age. That around forty time when single people feel that's it's time to really have to get moving if they want children. Was Bethenny's future on the rise? Yes but I don't think Jason had some crystal ball in which he could see how successful Skinny Girl was going to be. And, he wasn't exactly some poor man on the street when they met. As for him wanting to get married before the baby was born - being raised a Catholic, it's not unusual at all. And I'm sure there was pressure from his family on this as well. She had some money when they got married but again, she wasn't raking in dough. Skinny Girl was still in the beginning stages and wasn't sold until 2011. As for Jason 'twisting' Bethenny's arm in the custody settlement to get more money, it was Bethenny who filed for primary custody. As Bryn's other parent, he had every right to fight back. We don't know what they're fighting over now in the settlement. There's just gossip in tabloids. We don't know what was in the prenup either.
  3. I kind of got the feeling that Andy didn't like it that Jon is just assuming that his son would take over the boat. The decision is up to the three of them, not just Jon. What about Neil? He's the youngest of the brothers. I also understand that Andy is concerned about Scotty's dedication to the time he'd have to put in if he was eventually to take over as captain. Yeah, it's great that Scotty wants to be with his son but he really can't do both. I did noticed and laughed when Norm was quietly eating the herring. I'm glad he's 'participating' more in front of the camera. Yeah, the Edgar/Elliot thing was probably a producer set up but it made me like Edgar even more.
  4. Ugh. Can this show move on from Aviva's father (and Aviva). Was that Luanne's daughter in the background in some of the scenes of the art party? It kinda of reminded me of her. Open relationship or not, you don't sleep with friend or coworker's boyfriend. I do kind of think that it never happened - maybe just in Sonya's mind. The trainwreck known as Sonja just keeps continuing. She needs 30 days in a facility to dry out. She's just too painful to watch anymore.
  5. Soooo, it looks like Josh and Jake do own the CM. Josh and Jake don't bother me as much as other posters. Good for them. Hopefully Jake will get his act together and the two of them will succeed. Jon's blood pressure is through the roof. Is that it for Mandy after all the promos or does she come back at some point. I don't think I've ever seen Norman talk and appear on camera so much in an episode. Anyone watch The Bait. Seems like there's a little tension between Andy and Jon over who should take over the boat eventually. Andy made it very clear to Jon that there are three owners. I don't know what it is about Scotti but I just don't care for him. Maybe, it's his seeming attitude of entitlement. I liked how Andy had to eat his words about women being on a crab boat. There also seemed to be a bit of tension between Sig and Mandy on the show. Sig is a protective 'dad'. Yeah, if Mandy was a boy, Sig would have a whole different attitude about her being on the boat but I get that. It's nice to see Zack and Bill developing a good father/son relationship. He's come a long way and he seems like a nice kid.
  6. I'm not an expert on New York child custody laws but everything I've read says joint custody equals joint decision with veto power. http://research.lawyers.com/new-york/child-custody-in-new-york.html Also, from what I've read, Bethenny was the one who filed for primary custody and then Jason filed when she did that. I don't know if he withdrew the petition. Maybe someone has a link.
  7. She did capitulate. She wanted the primary custody. She agreed to the shared custody. The tax consequences is nothing in this case. It was about having the ultimate control and she didn't get it.
  8. You know what's funny about this 'article' is that the headline says they're both shopping for reality shows but the article actually states that Bethenny is shopping for a reality show and Jason is shopping to host a show (nothing about a reality show). The source of this is Naughty but nice Rob who doesn't exactly have a great rep for reliability.
  9. Apparently the CM is198 gross tons and is under the size where a captain's license is needed. This was something that was bugging me for a while and I finally found the answer: http://www.nefsc.noaa.gov/fsb/references/federal_requirements_pamphlet.pdf Only vessels over 200 gross tonnage require captains, engineers and mates to have a license. Here's the gross tonnage of all the boats: http://deadliestreports.wordpress.com/the-fleet/ I apologize if this has all been gone over before....
  10. Hi Fozzy Bear, It didn't seem that way from the article that I read about this. She was complaining about people staying at the apartment, etc. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/lawyers-bethenny-frankel-estranged-husband-battle-custody-trial-article-1.1808281 I also don't think that the condo was bought by Skinny Girl. It was a home with a home office. This whole thing is very complicated because we just don't know all the details. Were they shooting in the office or in the actual living areas? As some one else stated, like it or not, it's Jason's home too. Was he asked if it was ok to have a crew there? What were they actually wearing. It's like the Cookie accusations. We don't know all the details. Did Bethenny ask Jason to take care of the dog or did she just assume. Was there a reason why Jason had Cookie in another room? Who knows. We do know that Cookie wasn't the sweetest dog in the world. We've seen her try to bite. Did she nip at someone? Did he put her in the storage closet because Bethenny kept her room and offices locked when she wasn't there? Who knows.
  11. Maybe Jason and his father started wearing their underwear around the house after Bethenny called Jason 'white trash' or maybe the other way around. Who knows. The public has been given only one version of all these claims that Bethenny has made. And we all know there's three sides to the story: hers, him and the truth. It's funny though. This reminded me of how Bethenny would sometimes appear in 'Bethenny Ever After'. Remember the time she was in an almost see through tank top without a bra on and Jason told her to do something about it. Double standard Beth.
  12. I don't think that Jason's parents ever exibited this. Jason is close to his parents. He wanted to spend time with them. I don't think it's abnormal to want to see your family or spend holidays with them especially since Bethenny didn't want to spend anytime with her mother or family. I also think that one of the reasons why the Hoppys' agreed to appear on the show was maybe to show support to Bethenny and to have time with their son and granddaughter. It was obvious from the beginning that Bethenny wanted distance from them. Bethenny's concept of family is so screwed up. Remember when her mother gave an interview and Bethenny got so outraged. She said she hated her. But Bethenny had no problem talking about her mother and her supposedly awful childhood on TV but her mother apparently isn't allowed to respond. BTW, I was a huge Bethenny fan up until Bethenny Ever After.
  13. As much as I can't stand Elliot, I don't have a problem with them following his addiction 'saga'. He's been on for a few seasons and it's part of his story. Hopefully, next season he'll be gone. I guess I'm an awful person but I really don't have much sympathy for Junior. I never really liked him and he was stupid to continue to fish with that kind of pain. He really was putting his crew at risk. Very happy to see Edgar be successful. I also have no problem seeing the Harris boys back to see how and if they've matured and how they'll handle being back on the CM. And most importantly, it's heartbreaking to see someone who has dedicated their lives to saving other people to die in their efforts. The term 'hero' is thrown around way too much. Officer Obendorf is what the word 'hero' is all about. The deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
  14. If Bravo thinks bringing back George is a way to increase the ratings, they're out of their minds. This man is disgusting and it's really kind of shocking that the housewives have put up with it. If he said to me any of the things he's said to them, I'd tell him off and if he ever touched me inappropriately, he'd have a problem. Show or no show, the man is a pig and no one should put up with it. It's shameful. I also think the engagement is a total sham thought up by George and Cody to get some airtime.
  15. I don't think this settlement is about Jason caving or being afraid at all. She was the one who originally filed for primary custody. He filed in reaction to her. This settlement is about Bethenny realizing that she didn't have a case and knew that she was going to get cross examined by Jason's attorney today. I don't think it would have been pretty and her popularity already has been going down the tubes.
