OK so Bryan and Eric are growing on me. I think there is no great fit for Rachel in this group and that there are so many actors in this batch. I see how those two make the top 3. This ep they showed signs of being genuinely into rachel. Their reactions to not getting a one on one, the blimp, and the group date stood out to me (as did Kenny's but he put the nail in his own coffin).

I'm with you on Diggy. And his exit was really classy, as I expected it would be. I don't think we saw a single moment with just them but it was easy to tell he just wasn't her type.

Peter's rap mentioning black girls from the hood ewww Send them all home. This is a bad batch. Shameless famewh*res. Has there ever been a group like this where the majority of the cast didn't even pretend to be into the lead and pursue her? They're not even faking it! Just want their tv time. Only Bryan, Josiah, Eric, Alex, and Kenny are putting forth any effort with Rachel. IMO She's chasing Peter and Dean I'm on the fence about. I personally like Will but he's not even pretending to be attracted to Rachel, which upsets me because he could've been a contender. These clowns don't seem to understand that, even if you just want to be the bachelor or more tv opportunities, you at least have to pretend to care about the lead! Most of these guys will be easily forgotten. And to think Rachel made production go back and get a better group of guys.

^And a complete idiot. I mean he just admitted to licking a drunk woman's genitals in a pool in front of cameras on the first night of filming. The producers completely play him on the bachelorette and get him out of there on ep. 2 and it doesn't stop him from allegedly going along with the script on BIP and getting into a bigger mess the first night of filming BIP. And why the hell is he talking?! I'd be lawyering up if I were him. A BIG OLE IDIOT is what he is. -

DeMario's version of events: http://www.tmz.com/2017/06/11/bachelor-in-paradise-suspended-demario-jackson-corrine-olympios-oral-sex-pool/ Here's DeMario's version of events, as told by people with whom he spoke: Last Sunday -- the first day of production at a Mexican resort -- DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios were told by producers one of the story lines would be the 2 of them hooking up ... especially entertaining because both are considered villains from previous shows. We're told the 2 met at the bar and the alcohol was flowing. DeMario says Corinne jumped in his lap and started making out with him. We're told there was lots of "intense rubbing." DeMario says Corinne then suggested they retreat to the pool, with the cameras rolling. They took off their clothes, started making out and "rubbing, touching and fingering." He says she put her genitals in his face and he began licking, but we're told this allegation is a big point of contention and others disagree with his account. He says he was not able to engage in intercourse because of the alcohol. DeMario says the next day everything was fine and he and Corrine were actually getting along well, but on Tuesday they were called in by the Executive Producer and told one of the show producers had seen the film and was "uncomfortable" with what was shot. The producer has filed a formal complaint with Warner Bros. Warner brass immediately suspended production, launched an investigation and released DeMario and Corrine. Two days later Warner Bros. released the entire cast while they investigated alleged "misconduct." As we said, there are other versions of what happened that differ from DeMario's. ---- Just gross to me. They pushed it with those two who just need to sign up to do porn if that's what they want to do. -

Plus the producer being so upset she didn't come to work the next day...maybe I've been watching too many episodes of UnREAL, but I'm really starting to believe the show had a HEAVY hand in corrine and demario hooking up the FIRST night and a line was crossed in the producer's mind. -

^ Since there is an investigation supposedly happening, they likely weren't told anything other than there was an incident and the show has been suspended. I also wonder if the show tried to manipulate the two "villains" into hooking up and it backfired on them. -

http://people.com/tv/bachelor-in-paradise-suspends-production-over-alleged-misconduct/?utm_campaign=peoplemagazine&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&xid=socialflow_twitter_peoplemag Sounds like consent is the issue: “It’s an incredibly difficult and complicated situation, primarily involving two contestants,” the source close to the show told PEOPLE “The show absolutely values the primacy of consent, and this instance it appears as though conduct allegedly occurred without the proper consent having been given. There are still a lot of unanswered questions, and a lot of people who need a chance to tell their stories fully, and the producers and the authorities will make sure they are given every opportunity to do so. Most of all, everyone wants to ensure the safety and well-being, both mentally and physically, of all parties involved.” -

DeMario is responding to tweets so maybe Corrine isn't claiming anything, because, if she was, I'd think he would be laying low. I do think because Corrine and DeMario are in a controlled environment ABC should shut it down if one of the contestants are sloppy drunk and out of it and not just keep filming. JMO I haven't watched a lot of BIP so I don't really know how out of control things get. -

"third party complaint" makes me think corrine threatened to sue the producer for allowing it and the producer filed first against the network to protect herself. corrine prob waived all her rights to sue ABC for anything but individual producers prob arent protected. -

The producer mustve thought Corrine was too drunk to consent. Also interesting they cancelled after showing corrine and demario the footage. Hasnt it been said that corrine has a bf and was doing all this for publicity? If Corrine saw the footage and agreed she was too out of it, well...ABC had to shut this thing down. -
Yea, Peter is just your cute, standard personal trainer to me. But clearly Rach and others see something I don't. I'm super into Will; his smile is gorgeous! Dean, Fred, and Alex are also super attractive to me.

I spend an embarrassing amount of time on a different forum with folks obsessed with this franchise. They do a lot of digging about contestants, filming, etc. Those women are whom I get most of my info from, as well as social media, not reality steve. They actually hate reality steve. Bryan is a white latino or hispanic. Peter is also white. Those are the only two in the race here. Now I don't think rachel has a strong preference for white men, I just dont think she likes the black men they chose for her. Will and Anthony have been well received since before the show aired by the women on the board I visit based on the snooping they did on all the contestants. They also have been well received on social media, though most think they are not compatible with rachel. No other black guy is close to them, except Fred who is gone and Josiah before he started speaking too much. Me thinking those two are likely to choose white women is based on their dating history, which other folks have reported about all over the internet, including their friends, not how they look (I would never do that). While the contestants would take most of the heat, ABC would take some also because people are nuts. There are already folks bashing ABC's pick of Rachel because they believe ABC chose a woman the network knew would choose a white guy, (I'm not making this up) and there will be backlash when she makes her choice. Hell I think it will start once she sends will and anthony home, which I believe happens the same ep (she gets rid of most of the black guys around the same time), leaving only eric. Folks are going to lose their minds over her final 6. And if it happened again with a black bachelor it would turn a lot of viewers off IMO.
-
I don't get blaming rachel because she's liked. She's not flawless, no one is, but she is a MAJOR step up for this franchise, so people are excited about her. I don't get from Rachel that she thinks she's a special snowflake. She got a long with all the girls on the bachelor, but Vanessa, whom no one liked, which to me says a lot. :shrugs: I don't think we will get a black bachelor. Rachel will choose a white guy, and looking at the black guys on this show that are liked i.e. Will and Anthony, odds are high they too would choose a white person. I don't think ABC wants anything to do with the backlash that would come from two black leads choosing white partners back to back.
-
Was weird they didn't show his face.
-
Eric at least seems to actually be romantically interested in her. The majority of these men aren't. The more I dig the more I side eye. I came into this liking demario (already out for lying), will (no chem;only dates white women), and peter (not as into her as she is into him IMO). I think Alex, Kenny, Josiah, Fred, Dean, and Bryan are actually interested in Rachel but I don't like any of them either for her.
-
I'm kinda bummed. I don't like any of these men for her. Will is my personal fav but, after seeing two strained (on his part) chemistry-free kisses, his excitement to be on Ellen cause him to jump into the arms of another contestant, and checking out his Instagram, I just don't believe he's attracted to Rachel in the slightest :/ he doesn't seem like a "wrong reasons" guy but that's what I'm feeling. He's aiming for next Bach I think. UGH I'm so mad. I like no one else for her but Peter and I'm one of the few who don't believe Peter is that into her either. Anthony seems nice but not for her. I felt bad for Fred :/ at least he actually liked Rach.

^ I do think she is upset that sam is ignorant to her light skinned privilege and IMO has reason to be because Sam frequently comes at CoCo for not being as out spoken as she is with no understanding that girls like CoCo wouldn't be able to get away with the stuff she does. For all of Sam's supposed "wokeness" she is blind to her own privilege. I don't think CoCo is mad at her just for being light but for not being aware of her privilege. Plus sam feels the need to overcompensate for being biracial and CoCo doesn't have that need. -

I'm more speaking of Troy (and other men on campus) overlooking CoCo from the beginning and really not ever considering her as a potential girlfriend. Even when Troy and Co started up, it was CoCo who got it started by just throwing herself at him. He was never checking for her. These kids are between the ages of 18 and 20; none of them k who they are as people; most are chasing and choosing mates based on superficial reasons. And I just don't think troy finding CoCo beautiful meant he thought of her as a prize. I mean CoCo IMO is stunning, wig or no wig, so he would have to be blind not to find her attractive. But the writers pointed out that, despite being stunning and bright and ambitious, she had problems in the dating world. The men just wanted to sleep with her. I think it was done on purpose. -

^^A lot of what you are saying is fair. But I do not think we are supposed to believe it is just all in CoCo's head. Colorism is a very real thing. I think we are supposed to consider that CoCo, like Joelle, is overlooked by men like Troy and other crowds because she is a dark skin black woman, who typically are not seen as prizes in the AA community like biracial women. We also literally see no men show any real interest in CoCo or Joelle in ten episodes, whereas Sam had three; I do think that was done on purpose to further highlight the issue of colorism. There was also the scene of the sorority girls complimenting sam's loose curls in front of CoCo but disapproving of CoCo's bob thrown in there to indicate the sorority liked sam's look. Additionally, part of the reason Sam is able to speak up and get away with being so loud, is because she is biracial. Biracial women are not seen as threatening as dark skinned women. I'm actually really glad the show addressed this very large elephant in the room, which the movie completely ignored. I don't think Troy's father would've approved of a relationship with CoCo at all because of her background. He seemed to only want Troy with women from money that had connections that could help him. -

It was the handling of troy, CoCo, and Sam in the colorism episode that led me to believe Troy's preference for Sam, like the sorority's, was largely because of her lighter hue. Troy is too weak to try to alienate anyone from anything. He strikes me as the type that is easily led and just goes along with whatever, which didn't stop until the end of episode 10. Coco wanted him from the beginning. She was an option when he chose Sam and, yes, she has insecurities because of it, largely because it happened at the same time as the sorority stuff. As I said, I've been assuming the movie is canon and so troy only publicly dating white women after sam is canon. By having him being sexual attracted to darker women but not being in real relationships with any (not just coco and Nieka), I took as TPTB panting him as thinking he needs a lighter woman. I do not believe he invited CoCo to the football game because he liked her, if that was the case, he would've invited her to a public event or took her out on a date before she called him out and threatened to stop sleeping with him. We will have to agree to disagree about troy. Lol But I do agree CoCo was making a fool of herself over Troy. -

I don't get Reggie is color struck as in he won't date a dark skin woman. I don't think there are any signs pointing to that. troy being willing to sleep with darker women, seeing them as sexual objects, doesnt mean much to me. I judge based on the women they are willing to claim. Reggie is currently obsessed with Sam, yes, but he doesn't strike as the type to feel he needs a woman lighter than a paper bag on his arm the way troy does. JMO Yes, Troy chose sam prior to finding out how his father would react, but there is no indication he made that choice because of sam's personality and not just her looks. We are shown troy chose Sam over CoCo in the episode dealing with colorism, the same episode where the sorority showed favoritism to Sam over CoCo. I didn't get the feeling troy and the sorority chose Sam because her personality was just so great; she can be insufferable and has flaws like the rest. I think the writers were trying to make the point that Sam, despite her flaws, is treated like a prize worthy of being shown off, unlike the darker sistas who are equally deserving. This show takes place after the end of the movie and the blackface party. So I do think it is also show canon that Troy was only publicly dating white women after he broke up with Sam freshman year. And troy doesn't "break up" with CoCo, he very coldly tells her it isn't a break up because they were never together and she was delusional. Even if CoCo listed a thousand reasons she liked him, I don't believe he would've ever taken her seriously. He did not want to be in a relationship with CoCo, which was evident to me when she prettt much had to threaten to stop sleeping with him to get him to be seen in public with her in episode 4, an episode dealing with colorism and CoCo being overlooked because of her dark skin. If that scene didn't happen in the ep dealing with colorism, maybe I'd feel differently, but I think the writers were trying to make the point that troy was only hitting CoCo with "come thru" texts, instead of trying to actually date her, because he only saw her as a sexual object because of her dark skin. -

I suppose it is hard to make that judgment because we never actually saw them together. But I don't read Troy the way you do. I think he is conscious to an extent, but not like Sam, and I don't see a desire to do social justice work nor a desire for a true partner. To me, he comes off as a aimless playboy. I think on the positive side, he is very understanding and genuinely wants everyone to get along, but I just don't think there is much to him, which I suppose is why I think he chooses women for superficial reasons. I never got that he was attracted to coco because she was strong or for any other reason than she was hot, and for "reasons," she was not good enough for him to claim. I'm also not sure why you think he isn't colorstruck but Reggie is. Assuming this follows the movie, Troy only publicly dates white women and a biracial woman, but is willing to sleep with darker skinned women. We don't really know that Reggie is colorstruck because we haven't seen his previous love interests. I admit I'm not a troy fan. Unlike the other characters, I feel he gets by on looks and name only. I really only liked him during moments when he was nice to Lionel and CoCo, other than that he was just...blah. I think his character needs a lot of work next season. -

What did troy like about coco? I don't believe troy could answer that question without mentioning anything physical either. So troy pretending to feel hurt/used didn't work for me. They had just started hooking up when he asked this question. They both were hot and ran in the same circle and started sleeping together, which means it started like most college relationships. I never felt he had any feelings for her. He wouldn't take her out publicly until she told him she was tired of the "come thru" texts. As far as CoCo pushing troy, I think CoCo absolutely thought troy wanted to be president etc. He never opened up to her like he did lionel. How was she supposed to know he didn't want any of that? As she pointed out, he stayed silent and kept screwing her without telling her he wanted different things. Troy knew who CoCo was and what she wanted the entire time he was screwing her. He was the one hiding the fact that all he wanted to do was screw, play video games, and get high. So part of me feels bad for CoCo because I do think she was blindsided by Troy. Like him, CoCo is also a 20 year old still trying to figure it all out, and hopefully the next guy she chooses is actually who he presents himself to be.
