  1. Tuned in for the first time this season last night now that the audition episodes are over. Wow. Carrie Underwood sucks the energy right out of the room, doesn’t she? I doubt I’ll be back.
  2. This week's show with the Tarpaulin family was interesting. The family in Simi Valley, California had a remodel instead of a new build, which makes total sense considering the CA housing market. Plus, their house seemed nice, it was just stuffed beyond capacity. I don't hold out much hope for the house remaining organized. The mother looked panicked at the prospect of getting rid of stuff. I would not be surprised to hear there's a storage unit or 2 holding everything she "purged." She seemed very guilt-ridden at the prospect of getting rid of anything, but I thought it was interesting when the organizers (sorry, don't remember their names) asked the Aunt and Uncle if they wanted to take any of the family heirlooms, their answer was a fast NO.
  3. I wonder who was really supposed to go home tonight that they decided to protect with no elimination? I heard the “no particular order” line, but were Steven and Ilona really the bottom 2? Steven and Danny should have been, but it’s hard to tell how those votes are swinging.
  4. I don’t know if this link to instagram will work, but Daniella and Dwight are giving Ilona and Alan a run for their money with these videos. That’s why they get the votes.
  5. Ugh. Please no. I haven’t seen Alan yet. Is he there tonight?
  6. Loved Joanne and Miriam bonding. Of course, Miriam thinks she’s cool. Morgan recording her discussion with Rebecca at the bar should not have happened, but it sure will come in handy to verify what exactly was said.
  7. The commentary and the tears tonight felt like a farewell. I don’t see how he can go much further. I was concerned that he would injure himself tonight. I won’t be surprised if he pulls out of the competition tomorrow.
  8. Are we really supposed to believe that Emily had 2 other large, bulky coats and 2 extra pairs of boots in her suitcase along with multiple ugly sweaters and Christmas pajamas for her family AND just regular clothes to wear for the trip? That must be some bottomless suitcase.
  9. I was struck by how far apart Anna and Ezra stood when waiting for the judges remarks. All the other couples throw their arms around each other and stand close, but not these 2. Things must be tense.
  10. Loved the side trip to the convent! And now Gilbert can’t even use it because they got caught.
  11. I thought he was talking about Israel K, the Hawaiian singer who charted with it. (See, his name escapes me too. Its a long one, lol).
  12. I expected Mia to make it into the Top 8, so that was a surprise. I still don't get Emmy's appeal.
  13. Roman is overall a strong singer, but that rendition of Roar tonight did him no favors. I really wish everyone would knock it off with the “make it your own” bs.
  14. I was fine with the 2 who went home tonight, but some of the remaining singers had a REALLY bad night. I thought Emmy, McKenna and Abi sounded terrible. Will and Kayko picked bad songs. Kabrienne and Roman were the best of the night IMO.
  15. Advancing artists tonight on American Idol 2024 Top 14 Abi Carter Emmy Russell Jack Blocker Jayna Elise Jordan Anthony Julia Gagnon Kaibrienne Kayko Mckenna Faith Brienholt Mia Matthews Nya Roman Collins Triston Harper Will Moseley so what’s next week cut? Are they going down to 12? 10? I wish they’d spend less time on auditions and more time with the top 12.
