I thought this was an interesting article. https://pagesix.com/2018/12/28/marvelous-mrs-maisel-costume-designers-created-a-new-bra-for-characters/ <snip> “I do feel that color signals things to people and you know I don’t take it for granted,” Zakowska [the clothes designer] said. “I love doing it and I put a lot of effort into really working with the palette and working with the colors. It started with that pink coat, but that became sort of a characteristic of who Midge was when I first started.” But {later} her character puts on different, darker colors. “I basically did this with most of the characters and it’s a little bit natural in a way because I do think that there is this emotional response that is inherent in color,” Zakowska said.<snip>

I gave up having a laptop after I saw how nice my Samsung Galaxy tablet works for everything I wanted to use a computer for. I was sick of expensive laptops biting the dust.

If they are anything like my grandkids , they are probably high as a kite on candy from their Christmas stockings.

7 Little Johnstons - General Discussion

I just got a chance to watch, and I'm pretty positive that was Jonah's voice too. -

My granddaughter is 16...DITTO🙄 Love her to death, but I swear, her attitude sometimes.

Thank you..but I do think I'm nuts. I'd have the other four over in a heartbeat if they werent stationed in Germany right now. Don't know where they'd sleep though.😂 I even got the ever elusive teenage grandaughter who must spend every waking second attached to her boyfriend to come and sleep over (sans boyfriend, of course!) Because...again.... out of state COUSINS❤

I want to try to show you why I'm so exhausted. This is my husband's side of the family. Not sure anyone can see it, but I'll try to share it. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=976437565889978&id=100005712306792 It's called a parranda, where they go from one family's house to another, and bring the music and the party with them. It is wild, and crowded, and loads of fun. (It took me many years to get used to.) Now I love it. PS my side of the family played Dirty Santa. The only excitement came from someone trying to pass off a thin plastic dollar store tray as a $20 Dirty Santa present. We all knew who it was from immediately. They pull this every year, but this year it was so obvious. They have plenty of money, but they're extreme cheapskates. I wouldn't be surprised if they reuse their toilet paper. 😂 PS I have eleven of my fourteen grandkids sleeping over in my itty bitty house tonight, and I'm about to lose my mind! (my husband and I are in our room pretending we don't hear them stomping around upstairs and still wide awake). Cousins!❤

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

"Celebs" 😂 I don't think TMZ will be clamoring to take any of their pictures any time soon. They wish that they were really that famous. None of my family knows what in the heck I'm talking about if I try to talk to them about the Duggars. (so glad for these forums!) -

Oh..now I know why my daughter has been so quiet about it. She only spilled the beans because her siblings were wondering why Nathan never goes to any of our parties, but we've experienced Passover with them.

I was kinda busy raising my five kids. I probably was too broke from buying them frivolous stuff like clothing and food to be able to go to the movies back then. Somehow I've missed it every time it has played since.🙃 PS thanks for the suggestion. It'll be on TV this Saturday. I'll set my DVR.

Hmm..I'll have to look for it. I've never seen it for some reason.

I know that word! (it means a good deed.) I have picked up many Jewish phrases and words from my son--in-law, and my daughter, (my daughter converted.) My daughter and her 3 kids are visiting us right now since Nathan is working. On Christmas Eve, my husband's family always has a birthday cake for Jesus, and holds hands around the table and someone prays (I don't pray, but I hold hands.) After the (long) Christmas prayer (all in Spanish) was done, everyone started to drop hands. My six year old grandson Samuel then confusedly said "wait guys! What about the other prayer?!" Then, of course, they asked him what prayer? He said "the one for Challah" (which is a braided bread) since he had seen some on the table. My daughter had baked some and brought it to the party for everyone to try. My daughter then explained that every Friday night they turned off all their electronics, said the prayer, and "broke bread" with each other. One of my husband's brothers, who is a pastor, then said, "OH..ok...but we don't know that prayer, Samuel!" He said "that's OK..I'll teach you." He got everyone to hold hands again, and recited the whole prayer himself, in Hebrew. Everyone said Amen again and they all chuckled, and then we all pigged out. 🙃 Last thought: Almost 50 years ago, when I joined their family, I knew how to make only a few dishes. So every single party, my go-to dish to bring was homemade potato salad. (I'm of German descent) Fast forward 50 years, and every single time they have a party, they must have the potato salad from the recipe I taught them to make. Whether it's here in Illinois, or even over in Puerto Rico, it's a must have for family parties now. It goes so well with arroz con gondules (Puerto Rican rice and chickpeas. I laughingly told them the other day that I better get credit for addicting everyone. ummm where was I going with this rambling...OH! I know. Everyone LOVED the homemade baked bread (Challah) she brought. It was gone in a flash, and everyone wants the recipe. They said now we need Challah for the Christmas party each year, and Samuel to bless it. The end (did anyone get this far?) 😂 PS if you like stand up comedy and Jewish life, and gorgeous clothing, watch: The Marvelous Mrs Maisel on Amazon Prime. Everyone I've told to watch it has gotten completely hooked. [NOT FOR YOU IF PROFANITY OFFENDS!] The pilot IS a bit slow in the first half, but I think you'll get addicted if you watched the whole first episode. (sorry so blabby, I'm giddy with relief that my company is gone! )

I just went to my husband's side of the family's Christmas Eve party. His family are mostly Puerto Rican (with a sprinking of Mexican here and there.) Everyone used to be Catholic (more or less) and always danced their bootys off. This was back when almost everyone drank and lost their inhibitions, including my husband. My husband is still Catholic but doesn't doesn't drink any more (thank goodness!) so now he's too inhibited to dance anymore. OK (finally!) here's my religion question: Why don't people from certain Christain churches dance? Of the ones who aren't Catholic in his family, I'd say 50% say they are evangelicals and 50% say they are plain Christain. Both group's churches are strongly based on the Bible type churches. (not sure I get the difference of the two types, honestly.) Is there something in the Bible that says you shouldn't dance? I'd like to look it up. I swear I'm honestly curious and not trying to be mean. (I didn't ask at the party because I was taught you don't discuss politics or religion in a social gathering.) PS I've always been the only 'gringa' at any of their parties, but they love me to death and vice-versa.❤

My Jewish son-in-law (who is a doctor) always volunteers to work every Christmas so someone who celebrates can be with their family.

Seems like they're watching some sport, and their team is behind?

Thought provoking, (about the patriarchy part) since I just read a hilarious Twitter thread about women's low-rise jeans coming back. If you get a chance, read it. 😂

Ok, I have no fashion sense but man, that is FUGLY. Side note: 3130 always freaks me out when it pops up on these pics, because it's my house address. 🙃 -
That might be it. She was raised to think the marriage night was going to be an amazings fireworks display kind of feeling, and instead she got a sad little firework that fizzled out (or blew up too soon.)
