Here's a comparison between shoes I bought at Wal-Mart and the similar (to me) shoes I see on the SAS website. No way, José! 🙃 Of course, I'm retired, and usually just walk around in my socks all day. When I do go out, my cheap Wal-Mart shoes work just fine. But even back when I was a pharmacy tech, and on my feet all day, I wouldn't have been able to justify ( or afford) shoes that costly!

I took everything down today too, inside and out. My husband is Puerto Rican, so we always leave it all up until Jan. 6 (Three King's Day.) I didn't feel like putting up my tree this year, for the first time ever (been sick), but then my daughter and her 3 kids decided to come in from Texas at the last minute. They wanted to "experience Christmas" with the family (they're all Jewish.) I said that I didn't have the oomph to decorate this year, so they said "oh! We'll do it, please let us do it!" (her kids had never decorated a Christmas tree before.) Thank goodness I feel better and could take it all down though, because they went back home before undoing it all again. I knew that would happen..lol OK, my Google skillz didn't help on this one. What is SAS, please?

This is supposedly about Olga's parents, and how they horrifically murdered Olga's sister.😨 I'll put it behind a spoiler tag, because if you're at all squeamish, it's not for you. (It's really gross, I'm sorry I read it) http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/313783

Nah..not me. I didn't mean for anyone to guess anyway.....I'll never tell. I'm too shy (really.) I'm not even in the front, or holding the map, even though I know I accidentally made it sound that way. 😂

Hi there, @pinkie :) That's my sister's nickname! We have nicknames in our family that make no sense, nothing remotely like our given names.

What's even worse is that every single one of my five kids, and their kids, are Cub fans.Where did I go wrong? 😢 😂

NO WAY.. Big White Sox fan here! I have a mixed marriage though, my poor misguided dh is a Cub fan. 5' 2" :)

Maybe Asuelu is really the one with the heavy sack.

I so agree with this. The old saying "fish and company stink after three days" is true. Also, being company stinks (for me) after just three days. I want to go home. And think about it..where would they stay? Are there hotels nearby? (and if so, would the family get offended if they didn't stay with them?) Couldn't pay me enough to go. She'd have to be around Josh, too.

I met once years ago with the friends I made in our online Beanie Baby collectors group. We were all addicted to those stupid beanies. It started in 1997, back when we all still had AOL, and dial up. I had an 'in' for getting the 'hot' Beanie Babies at the time (I worked as a pharmacy tech in a little independant drugstore who soId them.) I bought and sold a lot and I made a good profit, but was always very honest in my dealings. Who knows what in the heck Beanies were stuffed with, but we used to joke that it was some kind of crack. I look back now and can't believe how we grown women (and one lone guy) were so determined and frenzied to complete our collections. Yes, we all had at least one kid..but these Beanies were mainly for us. They had a couple of meetings in various cities until they got me to go to one. I only went to the one I did go to,because they held it in Chicago. I hemmed and hawed and made all kind of lame excuses about not going at first. I was terrified to go and be around all those strangers. But, they got me to go. To be honest, I was mortified when all the attention from the very large group was laser focused on me a little while into the dinner. Someone said Chi..come up here! I shrank with horror and almost started to cry. OMGosh it was awful. I felt like I was in school again..and people were looking at me. They saw how scared I was, and someone came to where I was sitting, and said " we all chipped to buy you something." It was a little cage from China Town, and it had live crickets in it! They all thought my reaction was hilarious. I.do.not.like.bugs. I can act one way on online behind a screen, after I get used to the site, but I can't ever interact that way in real life , away from my family, no matter how hard I try. Oops..wrote a novel. Sorry I'll end by including a pic from our group. I put all the names of the group on a map showing all the places we were from, and that's what is being held up. (not saying which one I am.) 🙃

Aww..I want a kitty again! I'm going to get two when I can. This is going to sound terrible, but I'm waiting for my dog to croak first. She's a chihuahua we rescued from a really bad situation. We've had her for many, many years. She has always hated my guts (we don't know why.) I've been nothing but nice and loving to her from the get go, but she absolutely hates me. Loves my husband to pieces though. 😂

I get what you're saying. But do you take a picture with them in the background and post it to the public? I carefully look to see what's in the background when I post to my family, and I sure am not "famous."

It might feel good to be in a smaller family, and not one of the hordes. People are funny, sometimes we want what we didn't have.
-
Blergh. I would unfriend them so fast. I can't stand to see yucky stuff on Facebook.

Aw thanks. The funny thing is that even though B. was married for 56 years before his wife died, he says he is only now truly happily married. His late wife hated him playing Santa, and would never support him in doing it. He even made sure to mention on eharmony that he was looking for someone to play Mrs. Santa, and that it would be a deal breaker if they wouldn't. I can't believe what a pitiful amount of snow my Chicagoland area got this year. (I'm sure I just doomed us to a blizzard soon)

Ditto. I usually buy "guy" gymshoes because they are a bit wider. Then they fit without being too big on me. Plus, a lot of times the places I shop (Target and Wal-Mart)are out of any size 7 or 7½ women's shoes, if they look nice, are comfortable, and not too expensive. There are always tons of the bigger sizes left on the shelves though. I used to think "who are these women that wear size 11 and 12 and why haven't they come to buy their shoes here!?" Sometimes I have found great shoes in guy sizes on clearance, because I guess they looked "too girly." Ditto on men's T-shirts, which I prefer because they're longer in the back than women's style are, and they cover my behind.

I tried watching Big Mouth, but it was too uncomfortable to watch for me. Which is odd, because I'm kind of a dirty old lady in some aspects. 😁 I really feel for males if that's how they really go through life though. (are there any males reading this who have seen it? Is it true to life?)

Agree with all of this.

I know how hard it is, but please jump in whenever you want. 😊

I say welcome one and all. 😊 I'm extremely shy away from my family, but the internet has set me free :) I actually felt physically sick to my stomach with anxiety the first few times I posted on PTV. I'm glad I pushed through the shyness , and I hope you can too. This is me, also, exactly. ❤

I wonder if anatomically correct dolls are easier (and more affordable) than they were back when my kids were little? I bought my boys an anatomically correct boy doll to play with back in the eighties. I had to order it from France, and it was a lot of money. Some of my older relatives thought I was nuts. They thought that I was "going to physiologically scar them for life" by letting them have a baby doll. They both turned out to be great dads, and both served/are serving in the Marines. (and my daughter is a retired Army veteran.) The people like Jill R. and the Duggars do all their boys and girls such a disservice by adhering to such rigid gender sterotypes.
