  1. Yep. The women on Andy's right behave as if they understand that words mean something. To use that Geico commercial, "Words can hurt!" Aviva doesn't seem to understand that. I disagree about "where there's smoke, there's fire." People DO make shit up.
  2. I used to joke that I didn't bond with my kids until we shared our first beer, so Tawney's reaction (or non-reaction) was understandable to me. She hadn't felt movement, she wasn't showing, and I don't think she was even having morning sickness. The pregnancy might have been real to her, but the baby wasn't. Fisher King, thanks for the explanation. That comment of Teddy's was so ugly, I think I blocked it out of my mind. Speaking of Teddys, does anyone know if Bruce McKinnon (Ted Sr.) is related to Ray McKinnon?
  3. Thoughts on the episode title? "Until you're blue -- in the face"? That's how I usually hear the term -- people talk and talk and nobody really hears, there's no real communication.
  4. Better communication would help these people, but that's true of most drama. Ted Sr. won't ask Daniel for his version of what happened with Ted Jr. Daniel didn't give his mother the whole story about his banishment -- that he won't be living in Atlanta and that he won't be coming home again -- ever. Jon tried to explain to Amantha that he HAD to present the plea deal to Daniel, but she wouldn't listen. I think Janet and Amantha understand each other a bit better now, so that's something anyway.
  5. Auntie, if I remember right -- Trey didn't kill George. George killed himself. Trey found his body and dumped it in the river. Trey probably thought that George's suicide -- right after Daniel was released -- would raise questions. So rather than let George's body be found, he dumped it. Until tonight -- silly me -- I thought that Tawney was attracted to Daniel but that she loved Teddy. I thought that what hurt her about Teddy's accusations was that they weren't true, and that she was crying because her husband thought she didn't love him. But then she called Daniel. That last scene was almost as hot as the dance scene in Picnic, Kim Novak and William Holden and that gorgeous music -- Moonglow, I think it was.
  6. I think part of Carole's issue with Aviva passing herself off as a "writer" is the same issue that many "real" writers are having with all the self-publishing going on. Of course the self-published people are writers and authors, and some of them are making lots of money from it (Hugh Howey) but most of them are doing it as a sideline and a lot of it is just crap. Writing is Carol's career -- she's educated, trained, and experienced. Aviva put herself in the same category, and she doesn't belong there. The weirdest part of the reunion for me was Ramona trying to explain herself to Aviva, why she called Aviva vile. She kept saying the same thing over and over -- never got to the point -- and finally just gave up. The fact that it wasn't edited out goes to show how little they had to work with for part three.
  7. When the discussion turned to Carole's issues with LuAnn last season, LuAnn got it wrong. Carole was cold to her because Lu was coming off as a wannabe (royalty, upper crust, etc.) and comparing her life experience with Carole's, not because people think she's unapproachable. I like Lu this season but come on, get over yourself already!
  8. How sheltered is Aviva that she thinks the only place you'll hear "motherfucker" is in "the ghetto"? Defending "at least I'm not 50" as a compliment? "I thought she was older!" Makes no sense at all. Sheltered and stupid.
  9. You're right. Shoot, I guess I just made that up, Trey signing the note, because that's what I wanted to happen. I've decided that Daniel didn't kill Hanna and that Trey was lying when he told Daniel she was a slut. Daniel would have known, or suspected, or heard something. It might even have come out at trial. I'm anxious to see what happens with Foulkes and Daggett, now that Daggett knows that the initial investigation was so shoddy. I don't know why Jared followed Bobby Dean, except maybe to make sure he and his buddies didn't go after Daniel again. ??
  10. What was Bobby Dean crying about? Are we to assume Senator Foulkes told Ted Sr. about Daniel's attack on Ted Jr.? Beautiful episode. Every scene was perfect, including the music. I wish Tawney had told Teddy that she went to Daniel's rescue but I understand why she didn't. Can't figure out what Trey's plan is, especially since he signed his name to that "sorry about your wall" note.
  11. Oops. Where the heck did I get "Boggs"?
  12. The actress who played the prison guard is Brenda Bakke. She was the sexy Selena in American Gothic. She has a Kathleen Turner kinda thing going on, or she did anyway. Too many lookalikes in this show. For a few seconds I thought the prison guard was Eleanor. Then there's the CLIO guy and the prosecutor. And Fausto and Robles -- when Eva identified Robles, I thought the photo was Fausto.
  13. I wish we knew more about what happened with Sonya's sister, and how Hank ended up shooting Boggs. How did Boggs become a suspect? Did Boggs and Lisa know each other or was it a random attack? Was Hank the only cop on the scene when Boggs was shot? Did Hank also know Lisa? Seems like there must be more to the story or the writers wouldn't have introduced the brother. Unless it was to give Sonya more weird behavior. Does anyone know who played the female prison guard? She looks familiar but IMDB has nothing.
  14. I expressed myself poorly. "Writer girl" isn't clever, but Aviva obviously thought she had come up with a zinger to describe Carole.
  15. I wish Carole had been able to respond to Aviva's rewrite of history, but she kept interrupting! Carole has said she didn't have a ghostwriter for the memoir -- she probably didn't feel the need to say it again. There's no disputing that Carole had an editor for her novel -- we saw them working together -- but most writers DO have editors and they're glad to have one. There's no shame in having an editor -- something Aviva doesn't seem to understand. Editors and ghostwriters aren't the same thing. And "Use your words, Writer Girl!" after Carole said Aviva's behavior was "weird". Any good writer will tell you that the best word is often the simplest word. It was obvious that Aviva had that line prepared (probably by a ghostwriter) and couldn't wait to use it.
  16. Was the DNA ever identified? They know it's not Daniel's, but do they know whose it is? Did Trey and George give samples or was Daniel always the only suspect? The show isn't quite keeping up with the times, with regard to Daniel's confession. There've been news reports about confessions being coerced and sentences being reversed, especially when the accused were young and on drugs.
  17. LOL! If we didn't know that he indulged as a teenager, we could say that he's doing it now because he wants to experience everything he missed while in prison.
  18. Maybe, but I think he was also kinda pleased that Amantha was being friendly.
  19. It shouldn't have surprised me that Teddy refused to press charges. His family is important to him. Plus, it'd be embarrassing as hell for the incident to become public. But will he waver? What happens if he thinks Daniel is interested in Tawney, or vice versa? Would he tell Tawney? I don't know what to make of Trey. He's either innocent of Hannah's murder or he's deviously clever. I keep seeing him as Johnny from Deadwood though, so it's hard to think of him as devious. It's too bad the writers couldn't have worked "Wants me to tell him something pretty" into the dialogue somewhere. It would almost have fit. I wish Daniel wouldn't do psychedelics. It's the old fogey in me.
  20. Or Kem Nunn (surf noir). Holt was in John from Cincinnati, which was loosely based on Nunn's stuff. But Hiaasen -- yeah. I know a dozen women who'd be glad to live that life with Ray. Well, I don't actually KNOW them, but I've seen 'em on Springer. Not sure how I feel about whoever it is that Galvan is using to keep Eleanor in line. Do we really need two damaged relatives? I'll need an explanation for how that started in the first place -- it can't be easy to get something past Eleanor. Can someone refresh my memory on the connection between the CLIO CEO and Marco? Was he there when Marco and Galvan last spoke?
  21. So, Sonja the "lifestyle expert" -- is selling her house in France going to be on her resume? I couldn't make heads nor tails of what she was claiming. The attorneys and bankers who straighten out her financial mess are her employees? Who's been enabling her all these years, that she's so out of touch with reality?
  22. And another thing -- what's up with the woman in Fet's workplace giving him the adoring looks?
  23. If the story put out to the public is that the passengers died from carbon monoxide poisoning, why aren't the passengers' families asking that the bodies be released for funerals? Or are we supposed to believe that all those dead people made it home and their families have taken them in? Instead we have one TV news van outside of one passenger's home. I think I'm done. When Sean Astin confronted his new boss, I realized I didn't care if he survived that encounter. I kinda like the exterminator but I don't care about any of the other characters. And what's worse, I have no sympathy for any of them. They aren't real to me, not at all. Even a vampire/zombie show needs to take place in the real world.
  24. What a tense birthday "party"! Would it have been as tense if Daniel hadn't been late? Probably. I liked Charlie the Chaplain but what was that music? It sounded discordant, not comforting or warm or even human. Daniel seemed to feel it though. Teddy Sr. stepped up, bless his heart. Teddy, Jr. had to mark his territory. I suppose if I was a guy and thought my wife had feelings for someone as compelling as Daniel, I might pee on a tree too.
  25. DrLar, Eleanor had told the boy that Kyle was with the butterflies, and Sonya remembered a place where Monarchs stopped on their migration. I didn't notice an old Mercedes. I thought she still had the van she stole from Kyle's family. Maybe Jaime is dead in the van and she stole the Mercedes. ??
