some of this other stuff was in episode synopsis or obvious. But I think the preview of the girls in their prom dresses finding out who A is makes them seem accurate. (I don't believe episode10s synopsis has come out yet) However, the real test is whether Clark is gay or not. But he probably is seeing as he's gone about four episodes now and there has been no sign of creep.

S06.E07: O Brother, Where Art Thou?
mercfan3 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Pretty Little Liars [V]
Well, as someone else said..Spencer still sleeps with the door unlocked and the blinds open...and she's the smart one. -
I feel like Mona is "Snape" I don't think Sara is Bethany Young. Honestly, I just see her as Emily's coping mechanism after the Dollhouse. Emily's using photography, Spencer was using pot, Hanna's trying hard not to show "weakness" and Emily is trying to "fix" Sara. IMO, that's all she is. But Heather is too funny about her suspicion.

It's not creepy of Ashley to give Caleb a key to HER house..other than maybe she's trying to get her cougar on again. (Joke..) Actually, it seems like Ashley and Caleb do have a closer than normal relationship for a teenage boyfriend/mother. (Not sexual guys..they just confide in each other, she cares about him etc..) Caleb is reacting the way a normal human being would react to someone they loved being kidnapped and tortured for 3 weeks and being unable to help them. He got a little overprotective daddy-ish. (Someone permanently in this town needs to be a good dad..). But Hanna would have done the exact same thing to him. And then she shut him out and continued to run around, when previously, Caleb was always an honorary fifth liar. I know we're used to neglectful people. The tracker? On the one hand..that was a little bit like when Emily's father put up the alarms in the house. But I think that was more A related than anything. It was actually an interesting incite into Hanna's character, where she doesn't want anyone to think she's weak. As for the couples..Personally, they should let Toby and Ezra go. I don't know why they are so popular. But I always thought of Emily and Allison as THE couple of the show. They'll be the last to get together permanently because they are the most important. Ezra/Caleb/Toby are all side characters..Ali and Emily are central to the story, a thread that kept the original group together..and a slow build.

LOL, about the Caleb post up top..I was just making the typical Caleb has lesbian hair/fashion joke again. I don't think it's actually his. (Although it could be) Sarah is just Emily's therapy. That was spelled out. (And I thought Emily's friend said "Is your friend capable of sharing feelings?" I don't remember hearing Sarah, but I could be wrong.) Regardless, Emily can give her puppy/replacement for Ali back now. Anyone catch the freeze frame of the paper Mr. D had? Also, how the hell did Spencer not catch on about the meds? And Mona makes me suspicious because she could have told the girls right away when she handed over the documents. She's still clearly playing games.

The flannel shirt is Caleb's. :P

Boy, so I guess it's more unpopular that I liked Norma.

If it's a 20+ man who is A...I think pathetic figure is best. Also, to me, Ian Harding was fantastic. I think he was going for campy-evil. (Well, either that or he was just deliriously happy that he didn't have to eat cake for an entire season.) And it was just hilarious.
-
I've wondered about Toby or Ezra...but those "Ships" are so core to the show (blah) that they probably couldn't go as completely dark with those two as they'd like. Toby in particular was handled...strangely. Although the whole Ezra situation might have just been the writers throwing shade at that couple.

I think they were always going to do another A, the show was initially supposed to last for 5 seasons and Mona was revealed by the end of the second. I just don't think they knew who it was going to be. There are plenty of misogynistic killers too (I guess, I really can't think of an example), but that's not what I'm talking about..and I'm not going to go through it here, but there are plenty of articles explaining the feminist/patriarchal themes that run through this show. And it's better than the whole "stole Ali from him" ending..well....because that's the exact same reasoning they used for Mona. And it was stupid the first time.

Everything doesn't have to be about the patriarchy. But this show, IMO, pretty clearly hints at it. (Like I said though, I don't think that'll be the ending story. My only point was that it could be a potential motivation that..you know..made sense..) As for women attacking women..how about every teen movie ever? "Mean Girls"? What would be different is actually a television show focusing on the patriarchy..the systemic oppression of women by men head on..and not in that typical DV victim defeats evil abuser and has a happy ending with the "good guy." This show had the layout to do so..it's had feminist themes sense the beginning and has been all about the patriarchy since season 3. The show isn't going that way. But it could have..and it would have actually made sense.
-
Women terrorizing women is played out, and although is part of patriarchal norms..really doesn't address the true issue - which is..women terrorizing other women benefits the patriarchy. (Although, Hanna actually shamed that notion in the earlier seasons when Noel gave his little speech.) If A is a representation of the patriarchy, it doesn't make sense for A to be a woman. But truthfully, I think that part of the show is symbolic, and although that is there..I think there will be a whole other story. It's just in terms of "motivation"...something along the lines of what they gave Andrew as a motive, would have actually worked..and quite frankly..been not nearly as absurd as whatever they are about to do. (Actually, it's not absurd at all, considering that is precisely the type of thing that makes the headlines all the time.) Now I wouldn't have had it be Andrew that did it...to me...it would have been better as a better known character..Ezra/Toby/Lucas/Wilden/Jason edit: Did the poster really say there wasn't a confidentiality agreement? That sounds pure bogus to me...
-
She asked for space two episodes. Just..don't be mean to Caleb. He's a man among boys in this town.
-
Actually...the motivation suggested by the police about Andrew would be as good as any...particularly given the feminist themes that run in the show. That A is some menist that believes women are the downfall of men and had an entire manifesto about it, and thinks these five girls (The original Queen Bee, the new Queen Bee, The Artist, The Brains, The Athlete...don't forget..show canon suggests they were all elite in some ways) represented the downfall of men. Have him be tied to the A Team or have Lucas be A (would make sense given his status and that criteria. And heck, this stuff is straight out of national headlines).
-
The thing is, she didn't deny the other times spoilers were leaked. I mean, we had all guessed who is A...pretty much because were had run out of suspects. And I don't mind, there are enough clues to make it seem like that's the case. But the "why" is supposed to be more important..and it's just a redo of Mona's reasoning.
-
Don't forget, this show was supposed to go 5 seasons. I'm okay with it because of that. But I'm not confident I buy it. I guess we'll know in a few different episodes. Also..what is this tweet about. "A was seen in Reykjavik" #AriaKnows - from Marlene's twitter. In their first conversation, Ezra said he visited there..
-
OMFG Hanna, don't be mean to Caleb. This makes Sarah a little more interesting, I think. Although we've guessed that she was his original Ali doll, hearing her talk about it could make her more entertaining. LOL at Emily "JESUS CHRIST SPENCER CAN WE NOT RUSH INTO BLAMING SOMEONE...AGAIN."
-
The guy seemed to have missed some scenes too, so hopefully we'll get more of a motivation than what's given. (If the spoilers are correct.)
-
Ali didn't know who the peeping toms were. She found out labor day weekend when she saw Ian's videos. But again, it's funny that we talk about all of Ali's misdeeds.. Like, her blinding (accidentally) and blackmailing Jenna. You know, the rapist. (Well, one of Rosewoods rapists..) Ali is not an innocent victim. No one is saying that, but what we are saying is that there are reasons beyond "She's a sociopath" for why she is the way she is..and some of those reasons are empathetic.
-
People don't want characters to get instant forgiveness. Look what happened with Toby and Ezra..viewers got annoyed at how easily they were forgiven. So now we have a character who genuinely feels terrible for her past, is acting like it, is being punished for it, and is actively trying to redeem herself..and people think it's boring and want the development to hurry up.
-
I thought Mona wanted to be caught by the liars, and is probably being watched. Just like when Spencer was A..she couldn't openly do things against A..but she could try and help the liars figure things out.
-
I really wish they hadn't had Ezra be a red herring..he's still an absolute perfect fit...my hope is that they were using the first time to test the reaction of people. (It was an overwhelmingly positive reaction to Ezra being evil..so I'm not even sure why they undid that.)

After watching some of the shows over that we are told to watch..IMO..it's Wren..and Ezra seems suspicious as hell. (Helper..) Wren make sense. We need a guy about his age to be Charlie. (If we're buying the Charles theory.) But two things jump out at me...#1..him coloring in the picture of Ali's mother + family at a farm. 2. His "I've dealt with mental illness my entire life" comment to Hanna. I think Wren is the one who buried Mrs. D. All of the other suspects are..unavailable. Ezra is with the girls. Wilden is dead. Melissa and CeCe are at the police station. Noel Kahn is with the girls. Shana is dead. Toby was in London. And Caleb was getting ghost murdered. (We know he's not A, but he's definitely eliminated from the conversation because of this.) Another thing that stood out to me was that Toby told Spencer that Melissa was lying about seeing him in London, only Wren was there. Obviously this means that Melissa and Wren were trying to hide something, and Wren has to be in on it because Melissa knew Toby went to London. (And obviously, my theory includes Wren going to America after he sees Toby.) But if he's A, he's gonna need some help.Who? IMO, Ezra is number one on my list. CeCe and Melissa are also suspicious as hell, but they could easily be trying to play nice with the boys and work against them. IMO, that one could go either way. Regardless, they aren't

I don't see it that way with Ali. Ali has had a ridiculously traumatic life. Yes, she was a manipulative backstabing mean girl friend. But the point to Ali is that she was so much more than that. Her background isn't meant to excuse her behavior, it is meant to have people understand where she was coming from. She had a stalker (two, actually..) someone who was trying to kill her and mona. She was trying to figure out who it was. So she tested her friends. The things she did seemed cruel from the liars perspective, but the girl was alone in the world and trying to stay alive. She found out men were videotaping her and her friends. She blackmailed them. She confronted them. She didn't trust Jenna, so she blackmailed her to stay away from her. She wasn't sure if she could trust her friends, so she tested them several times..(I think the test was more for Aria and Spencer, as Hannah and Emily were pretty devoted.) She was afraid of Paige..so she tore her down... Which is really where it all came from, fear and survival. She could be mean just to be mean, but she also did it for survival. Ali is very lolita like. Her mother buriend her alive, and has been murdered by the person after her. Her friends have been tortured because of her. Her father has been lying and manipulating her brother since they were born, and her other brother was institutionalized because of what he did to her. She has been on the run for two years, and has essentially lost her friends (which, as Mean Girls has taught us, a Queen Bee is nothing without her loyal followers.) Then talk about all the adult men who have made sexual advances on her or manipulated her. She is sorry for what she has done to her friends, and blames herself a little too much for the things that have happened. If she was anything but what she is now, it wouldn't be right. The whole situation got bigger than what she could handle. And we still see Ali. Ali in jail...hurting herself and Hanna so they could talk in the infirmary..that's Ali.

Ali's makes perfect sense if you don't think of her as a psychopath mean girl.
