By the way, I'm still rewatching Usher (and Adam's) cover of "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" Damn.

They got Pharrell who is the hottest musical artist/producer right now. I don't think someone like Gaga is out of the question. By not so hot, i just mean that she's someone who could benefit from The Voice. And she's someone I think would be very good at it, and her personality would work. Plus, I think I just want to sit her next to Blake and watch that interaction. Madonna would be awesome. I wonder what her relationship with Carson Daly is. I've gotten the impression that the coaches picked originally were all friends of Carson's. Which to me made sense. He knows a lot of musicians, and would know who would be the right fit. (No way would he ever suggest Mariah Carey as a coach, for instance.) He said he babysat Usher and had followed Shakira's career from way early on. The show has it's own pull now, but I always got the sense that he was part of the pull early on..and likely still has a say in "fit."

I always liked the idea of Gaga as a coach. She was fantastic on American Idol. Plus she's got that Cee Lo quirkiness too her. And she's a big name whose career isn't doing so hot so she'd consider it. I think Usher wants to come back too, so I can see a Usher/Christina/Blake/Adam S8 panel coming. I think that'll be interesting, if only because Usher evened out the score a bit with Adam and Blake last season. And Christina's got the advantage of being Christina...so I think the panel would be more evened out than with Cee Lo or Shakira there (where the top contestants just don't pick them.). I've got a feeling Gwen is going to be that coach this season.

I agree with Usher not really disrespecting women. His songs are all about sex, but they're "I love you girl. You are so beautiful. Let's go have a romantic dinner and then have passionate romantic consensual sex." I think he likes being that "for the ladies" artist. I don't even mind the "good kisser song." He's got a song called "Dive" so it evens out.
