Halting Hex March 18, 2019 Share March 18, 2019 Clemenson would go on to garner three Emmy™ nominations on Boston Legal, winning once. The character, "Jerry Espenson", was named after Jane, which is somewhat odd, as she didn't write his episode here. 1 Link to comment

Er, not that I ever saw the show (I had no idea that it featured a pre-Taj Brittany Murphy!), but if it's about a blended family (in Season 2, anyhow), how come none of the kids have Connie Ray's Oklahoma twang? They must miss their dad something fierce, I guess. (Also a bit disappointing to discover that Aly's only recurring, not main cast as I thought. That's one less step towards the Michael Landon/Harry Morgan record for her.) 5 hours ago, lembergwatcher said: March 28 1943 - Conchata Ferrell, an American actress who portrayed nurse Ruth Greeliegh in S.02E.20 Go Fish!. 1968 - Max Perlich, an American actor who played Whistler in S.02E.21 Becoming, Part 1 and S.02E.22 Becoming, Part 2. Oh, joy. Two of my "favorites" on the same day. (If only Carl Marin had thrown Whistler to the boys along with Ruthie, he'd have been my favorite villain ever.) March 28th is the 40th anniversary of the Three Mile Island disaster. "My black goddess! My ripe, wicked plum!" (Who says Spike's not a poet, at heart? He just needs better inspiration than Effing Effulgent Cecily, that's all.) Juliet helping her dad win that Oscar™ for Ed Wood. Dang, those eyebrows! (Also, dang, that WonderBra™, but that's a different issue…) I met Marty at the party for Mission: Impossible back in '96, and all he wanted to do was talk about his daughters. Awww. (Of course, as I was trying to flog a script, he was more interested in steering me towards Juliet's sister, Penny, who was running a production company, but given that "Drusilla" has endured far longer than my dreams of Hollywood or Penny's company, perhaps that was an error. Still, Marty had definitely earned more than a few do-overs, so no problem.) 1 Link to comment

Halting Hex April 5, 2019 Share April 5, 2019 Proposed to Sophia Crawford after the net trap in Phases threw her (because it was improperly loaded) and allegedly nearly killed her. You know, I've always been single, but I don't think I'd be saving the ring for that moment, in particular. I grant you, it probably saved him from a "you didn't check the trap? I could have died!" fight that night, but that's a "Get Out of Jail Free" card you can probably only play the once. As proposing has less impact once you're already married, I'd guess. (I shouldn't snark; Jeff was good at his job. His "Parable of the Knight" meltdown over his conflicts with Joss in S4 probably ended up hurting the show, even if his replacement John Medlen did get his chops together, eventually. [I still adore the flip-kick "Buffy" does in Tough Love, for example.] But Jeff's fight work was series-defining, and it was a shame to see him move on.) Link to comment

Halting Hex April 8, 2019 Share April 8, 2019 "One last job", huh, Emma? Eighteen years later (I'm only counting as far as 2016, as that's the most recent I saw), and she still can't quit the biz. It's no 1100 years of vengeance, but still. Had no idea CC did a guest spot on BH90210! A pity it wasn't during the West Bev years, for proper Torrance HS continuity.
