The Susannah Puisto Appreciation Society is demanding a recount, I hear.

I'm just noticing Buffy's top in the central pic with Willow, is that a fairy or is the girl sitting on a chair or throne?

I forgot!  I'm so ashamed!  Thanks, lemberg.

At least now I know why the recliner I'm literally aching for (you don't need to know about my back-pain issues…) has been delayed in transit…again.  No shipping on account of the national holiday, fair enough.  (But even so…)

So I'm wayyy behind on Birthday Bufferations, because I'm in miserable health (and there are complicating factors that can't be discussed here, due to the "no politics" rule), but lets do a few new ones for team 5/28, shall we?

Hall of Fame boxing trainer Lou Duva once guested on Living Single, which starred Erika Alexander, who's on Black Lightning with James Remar, who was in the epically bad The Blackcoat's Daughter with Lauren Holly, who was on Designated Survivor with Kal Penn.

Famed cinematographer Gordon Willis shot many excellent films, including The Paper Chase, which later became a Showtime series starring James "Dr. Weirick" Stephens.

Gladys Knight (and various Pips) performed the theme song for the James Bond film Licence to Kill, wherein David "The Fly" Hedison reprised his role as Bond's CIA pal, Felix Leiter, which Hedison first played in Live and Let Die, with Yaphet Kotto, who was on Homicide: Life on the Street  with (sigh) Max Goddamn Perlich.

Colby Lopez, better known as WWE Superstar "Seth Rollins" (who took a moment on Friday night to remind the crowd it was his/our birthday) is perhaps most famous for winning a record-breaking "gauntlet match" which lasted 65 minutes (an hour is the usual highest time limit) in which one of his two opponents was John Cena, who's currently filming Peacemaker with Lochlyn Munro, who's made two appearances on SEAL Team with David B.

Phil Foden and John Stones star for English Premiere League champions Manchester City, which before this decade's rise to prominence was perhaps best known for having once having had an ex-Hitler Youth/Luftwaffe vet as a goalkeeper, as seen in The Keeper with Freya Mavor, who was on Skins (UK)  with Jack O'Connell, who was in Tulip Fever  with Kevin McKidd, who's been in 300+ episodes of Grey's Anatomy (and various spinoffs) with James Pickens Jr., who's been in numerous episodes of The X-Files with Duchovny and Anderson, who were also in the episodes with Brian Thompson.  (Just in case you were wondering how to connect Hitler Youth goalies and alien Bounty Hunters.)

5/31?  Perhaps another day.

And he's back!  Teasers for the GM Super Bowl ad reveal not only Dr. Evil (Mike Myers), Frau Farbissina (Mindy Sterling) and, improbably, a younger #2 (Rob Lowe; Robert Wagner played the contemporary version in the movies, but Wagner turns 92 on Thursday, so…)

…but also Seth as Scott Evil.  The ad is probably no longer than two minutes, but that's longer than Seth is in some BtVS episodes, so he should be on familiar ground.

68 now, yet if BtVS got a Law & Order-style revival*, I think he could play Giles with very little alteration.  Swordfights, romances, and all.

What's that, you say?  In the comics…la-la, can't hear you.  (And unless Buffy's…new interests also make on-screen canon, there's no reason that I should, IMO.)

Denisof's birthday is coming on Friday.  "Check out Giles: the Next Generation", indeed.

*-for those who don't know, the main L&O series is now being revived, after a 12-year hiatus.  Much of the cast has been replaced, but Sam Waterston is back as the District Attorney, even at age 81.  He's not much different at 81 than at 69…but then, Jack McCoy rarely had to slay vampires.

(I can think of a number of episodes that this would have improved, but that's second-guessing, of course.)

I wonder if, at the time of this photo, Charisma knew that

Spoiler

Cordelia had been killed off.  I seem to recall that the final "she's dead" phone call scene wasn't in her script and she only found out when the episode aired.

Of course, that could also be an urban legend, or CC lying, or my imagining things.  I'm definitely not certain I have all the facts here.
