ElectricBoogaloo April 22, 2018 Share April 22, 2018 (edited) Quote When Vince discovers a sexy poster in Michael's room, he faces the specter of giving Michael "The Talk." Edited April 27, 2018 by ElectricBoogaloo Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo April 27, 2018 Author Share April 27, 2018 At first I felt bad for Dana because no one wanted to go to her art show (it reminded me of when no one showed up for Pam's art show on The Office), but then I saw her terrible photos. I loved that someone else's mini exhibit was Mariska Hargitay fan art though. 1 Link to comment
Rahul April 27, 2018 Share April 27, 2018 This show is kind of finding its footing. It appears that the season is only eight episodes, which means the finale airs next week. I wonder what happened to the episode that was originally slated to air this week titled "Nepotism." 1 Link to comment
possibilities April 27, 2018 Share April 27, 2018 I liked this episode a lot. It was funny and didn't make me hate the characters. Both the sex talk and the diploma stories worked. I was sad for Dana, too. I think they lean a little too hard into what seems to be a tv trope, of a character who everyone dumps on for no reason. It's not like she's worse than the rest of them. I don't get why that's supposed to be funny. I didn't like her photos, but if the problem had been that everyone knew what they were and hated them, the show would not have had Vince be surprised when he got to there and saw them for the first time. They seem to have a running joke about how nobody respects Dana. 2 Link to comment
iMonrey April 27, 2018 Share April 27, 2018 It's too bad this show will almost certainly be cancelled because I actually thought this episode was rather good. I especially love the relationship dynamic between Michael and Matthew. I laughed when Michael was telling him lots of famous people never graduated from high school like Anne Frank and Joan of Arc, and Matthew replies "And they turned out just fine!" I also love that Michael followed him to find out why he was wearing a tie, then read the nun the riot act. Also love the little cameos with Mindy Kaling - telling all the senior citizens "You're so lucky your husbands are dead!" 1 Link to comment
Couver April 27, 2018 Share April 27, 2018 This episode was funny and adorable. Probably the strongest episode of the season for me. I got a good laugh out of Matthew's 'You did not Graduate' 'diploma' and the running gag with the Matt Bomer poster and Vince thinking he looked like him. Also Vince not realizing Allison Williams, a woman, was Peter Pan. Although the jokes that Vince is unattractive are strange. Anders Holm is a good looking guy and early season Vince was supposed to be a playa right? The Vince/Michael relationship developments have been nice although the show could have built up to them better. I feel like the last two episodes really rushed that. The growth on both their parts is obvious though and nice to see. Dana as the outsider in the office is a bit played out. But I think it's because she's basically the only normal one there (albeit a bit odd). The other supporting characters are so off the wall crazy that they find her kind of a bore. Link to comment
SmithW6079 April 28, 2018 Share April 28, 2018 (edited) This show still sucks, and Michael sucks the life out of every scene he's in. The interplay between the brothers was good until Michael opened his mouth. Nuns can't give Last Rites. https://www.thoughtco.com/what-are-last-rights-542850 I doubt a 15-year-old kid would have a poster of Matt Bomer (that's at least five years old) on his wall. (On the shallow side, Matt sure looked good in that poster. ) Edited April 28, 2018 by SmithW6079 2 Link to comment

The shows ratings are not promising enough for a second season, but you never know. NBC should have scrapped Will & Grace reruns for two weeks and aired the extra Champions episodes back-to-back instead. Link to comment
ItCouldBeWorse April 29, 2018 Share April 29, 2018 (edited) Kudos for Vince's insistence that Michael get the HPV vaccine, but instead of agreeing to wait for Michael to come to him with future questions, he should have said: "As your father, I think you're too young to engage in any type of sexual behavior, but if you do, please promise me you'll use condoms, as it's just too easy to get an STD or hepatitis, and there's a box of them under the sink in the bathroom. Your mother and I weren't thinking clearly back then, and I want you to be better prepared than I was. Edited May 6, 2018 by ItCouldBeWorse 1 Link to comment

I saw the title of the episode on my Hulu and immediately had to watch, as I have had a thing for Matt Bomer for years. And I do enjoy that poster. I really like Matthew. He is the breakout character for sure. And agreed about Dana being the punching bag. I assume she and Vince are endgame (if the show even got that far) so making her so pathetic is a risk. Of course that worked with Amy on Brooklyn 99, so we'll see. I like this show. It will likely be cancelled, so I will look at it as a 10-episode mini-series. 2 Link to comment
ItCouldBeWorse May 6, 2018 Share May 6, 2018 I'm surprised that Matthew or Michael didn't ask Vince if he would have bern equally perturbed to have found a wet t-shirt poster of Kate Upton, for example, on (a hypothetically straight) Michael's wall. 2 Link to comment
