Annber03 September 15, 2023 Share September 15, 2023 Wow, that description was dead on. That was a perfect cover - it felt VERY vintage Monkees. What an intriguing idea, this EP! I read up on this and the other R.E.M. songs he covers on this are "Radio Free Europe", "Man on the Moon", and "Leaving New York". I'm genuinely curious to hear those covers now, too. Especially "Radio Free Europe". Yeah. That was really, really good, that cover. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/66995-the-monkees-general-discussion/page/3/#findComment-8142202
Blergh September 15, 2023 Share September 15, 2023 Interesting that Mr. Dolenz used a good amount of vintage footage of his original family for this- including his father George Michael Dolenz, Sr. who he died suddenly when his son was seventeen. I wonder why he didn't include any footage of himself or his family after c. 1970. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/66995-the-monkees-general-discussion/page/3/#findComment-8142322
chitowngirl September 15, 2023 Share September 15, 2023 (edited) I was afraid to click on the thread-the same way I’m afraid to click on the Dick Van Dyke thread! I’m glad I did. That was a beautiful remake. Edited September 15, 2023 by chitowngirl 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/66995-the-monkees-general-discussion/page/3/#findComment-8142454
