ElectricBoogaloo November 16, 2017 Author Share November 16, 2017 Man, I need to find a house like that so I can house sit! Loved when the Uber helicopter came by to pick up the owner and her kid. "Uber has cars?" Abbi's teacher was totally creeping me out, even before he stretched her face back. Ugh. Loved all the names for the different settings on the bidet. Link to comment
bilgistic November 16, 2017 Share November 16, 2017 This episode reminded me how uncultured I am. I've seen exactly one bidet in my life; it was in the bathroom of a Las Vegas hotel room I stayed in with my then-boyfriend 10 years ago. I didn't use the bidet the whole time we were there. Obviously, I've never been to Europe. Jaime was killing me. I kept waiting for him to accidentally bust his stitches. Abbi's plotline was rather topical given the news lately. I was knew a girl in high school who later married a man who was a teacher's aide (I think?) at our school while we were in school. He always seemed to hang out with the group of friends she gravitated around (the "history club"). It seemed...weird...when they got married. How do you ever not see a former teacher as a teacher? ZuluQueenOfDwarves November 16, 2017 Share November 16, 2017 “All teachers jerk off to their students.”?! No no no no no! God, what a huge swing and a miss for this show. Hard to believe the same people who fire crew members for inappropriate behavior towards women would then write an entire episode normalizing inappropriate and predatory behavior towards underage girls. So, so revolted by this episode. 6 Link to comment
purist November 17, 2017 Share November 17, 2017 The fart montage was hilarious. Farts will never not be funny. I was reminded of the Sex and the City season 1 episode in which Carrie farts in front of Big. From memory, she was very embarrassed and stressed about it. I love that Broad City treated a similar storyline with such humour and lightness. Link to comment
linared November 17, 2017 Share November 17, 2017 I was pretty disappointed in Ilana being cool with the teacher thing. However, I really want Ilana's lipstick and need to buy it. 1 Link to comment

I have a friend who started dating one of her high school teachers as soon as she graduated. I don't remember the particulars about how it came about (not sure I ever knew, actually), but he was five years older than her, so he would have been 23 when she was 18. My friend went off to college in a city 300 miles from her very small hometown. She used to call him "Mr. Smith," I guess out of habit. They got married a year later, at the end of her freshman year, so they had only about three months in a public relationship the summer between high school and going off to college, plus occasional weekends and holidays during the school year, plus they had to decide to get married even before that. When they got married, they moved to another city, where neither of them knew anyone, where he was working in the oil business. It lasted only a couple of years, not to my surprise. I do know she never wanted to talk about it after the fact. Can't say I blame her. On 11/16/2017 at 8:42 AM, ZuluQueenOfDwarves said: “All teachers jerk off to their students.”?! No no no no no! I think it's creepy and I wouldn't want to be the student someone is jerking off to, but I can't control what goes on in someone else's mind. I loved this episode. I can so relate to that nirvana of a laundry room, which the homeowner didn't even know was there! And Lincoln went up in my estimation when he was reading the newspaper in bed. He seems like such a pleasant person. Edited November 17, 2017 by StatisticalOutlier 3 Link to comment

First of all, if I was at a place with a bidet, I would absolutely do that. Not to be all snooty, but I would be looking into installing that in my house. When I lived in Tokyo, even the public toilets had them, and I mean, yeah. 8 hours ago, StatisticalOutlier said: But are fantasies that aren't acted upon predatory, or even inappropriate? I find the high school theme of it to be squicky because he verbalized it and not funny because they were roleplaying about an underage person. It would have been more palatable if Abbi was in community college for that plot. I'm glad Lincoln is back and I liked the call back to Ilana shitting herself and Lincoln's refractory period. I really liked that everyone was excited to do laundry. 1 Link to comment
possibilities November 18, 2017 Share November 18, 2017 I know Lincoln is basically the "straight man" and a foil for Ilana's crazy, and that's usually a pretty thankless job. But I love him. I'm glad he's back. They have managed to make the relatively sane character very funny and engaging in his own right-- impressive. When was the last time we had sex?!?! An hour ago. She sure got a lot done in an hour while he slept. Link to comment
Granimal December 13, 2017 Share December 13, 2017 Anyone else feel this show has gotten less...feminist in tone? Can't describe it...but it feels like new writers. 2 Link to comment
